I would rank the arguments surrounding Devils Towers use in the following order:
Lakota, National Park service and lastly the Climbers. The Lakota tribe is more fairer than the climbers because they actually have a good reason to not want climbers to climb the tree and the climbers don't really have a reason to climb the tree rather than to just climb it meanwhile the Lakota tribe has a meaningful reason which means something to them and the climbers should understand and respect that. therefore I think that the Lakota should be ranked as #1 and the National Park Service should be ranked as #2 and lastly the climbers should be ranked as #3.

I would rank the arguments surrounding Devil's Tower's use in the following order: Lakota, National Park Service, and the Climbers. The Lakota people's argument is more effective because they gave us facts on why Devil's Tower shouldn't be climbed, and even gave us the back story on their religion about why Devil's Tower is so sacred to them. The National Park service would be my second rank because they are just doing their job and while some climbers wanted to climb Devil's Tower the workers still let them know about Devil's Towerand how sacred it is to the Lakota People. The Climbers are my last ranking because they don't understand how important Devil's Tower is to the Lakota people. They can't and don't wanna stay off the mountain during the month of June as well. Overall white people don't have a culture so therefore they don't understand.

i choose the Lakota people with the best argument regarding the Devil's tower and rather it should be available to the public for climbing, or left alone for the native people whom view the Devil's tower as sacred and near and dear to their heart, religion and culture. The Lakota people have been there first, for hundreds of years they have worshiped the Devil's tower, to them it is more than just a "mountain" to be climbed, it is sacred, godly, to them it is healing grounds, it is all they have known for hundreds of years from generation to generation. To just give it up for white people to climb is just not right. And the Devil's Tower deserves to be respected, just like the rest of our earth needs to be respected. To the native people we have far different views than the views of white people. And as native people, who are so down to earth, who respect the grounds we all walk on, who respect the beautiful life this earth has given to us. The Lakota people find it no problem to teach and help white people to understand exactly why it is a problem for the white people to climb. But they choose to not listen, which is why the white people have no right to the devil's tower itself.

I would rank the arguments surrounding devils tower in the following order: with the best argument is the National Park Service, and then the second best is the Lakota people, then finally the climbers. The National Park Service in my opinion had the best argument because they tried to accommodate both the climbers and the Lakota people, but as people saw it as "Unfair" it really wasn't. The Park Service tried to have a month for the Lakota people to worship while the climbers weren't allowed to climb, which then led to the climbers suing the park service. The park service then tried to educate the climbers on why they should not climb during the month of June but still let them decide if they would still climb or not with no penalties. Secondly the Lakota people argued that the climbers should just stop climbing the tower out of respect for their religion and beliefs. I think that people do have the right to their religion and to practice it at any time, but they still have to keep in mind that they do not own the tower, rather it is a national monument and it's open to anyone, and anyone have the right to climb whether its for religious reasons or not. Although Devils Tower is a place that is open to anyone, the Lakota people have been worshiping and practicing their religion for many, many years. The climbers have the least knowledgeable argument because the reasons they would bring up about devils tower is that its like just going to a normal church, and that the Lakota people can just go to a normal just. Overall white people just wouldn't understand a religion that is different than a normal Christianity belief or like catholic is because they just don't have a culture besides taking things from people of color.

The way I would rank the arguments surrounding Devil's Tower Use in the following order: The Lakota People, The National Park Service, and The Climbers. The Lakota People's argument is more accommodating than The White People because their argument is more sensitive, it states and proves why The Devil's Tower is sacred to them. The Lakota People have a rich history of many ceremonies that have happened on that land in The Black Hills. The land of the black hills should belong to Lakota People because they lived there for thousands of years and they still liv on that land. In all honesty the government came in and defaced the land by carving into that mountain. The Lakota People had the best argument.

While watching the document about the devils tower i also agree on banning the tower for the month of June for their ceremonies. Really all the Lakota people are asking is to respect. How hard is it? The world is far more different than it was back then. The Lakota people argument is more advantageous and accommodating, than the climbers and national park service because they're more religious and have reasons for not letting the climbers climber during the month of June. Coming from a native american, yes i am going to agree with other native around trying to save their land is the best for at least trying to keep a place here where our ancestors left us because without this land we are left with nothing. Being honest right now we are slowly losing our culture and giving up is our last option well it shouldn't even be an option.

They have a factual argument and have a reason to the devil's tower. Secondly, #3 Climbers respect the Month of June voluntary ban on climbing Devil's Tower because they respect the rules. lastly argument #1 climbers climb the tower at anytime, I think this is the weakest argument because they don't give logical and an understanding reasons on why they climb. They spent the necessary time to explain their stories and a small bit of their belief, whilst asking for respect. The National Park Service would be my second rank, mainly because they are just doing their job but also trying to keep the steady ground between Climbers and The Lakota People, National Park Services provide a any additional information while providing needed immediate information for climber during the month of June. and Lastly, The Climbers are my last ranking because they neglect the importance and belief that the Lakota people have with devil's tower, climbers can't and don't wanna stay off the mountain during the month of as well.

I would rank the arguements surrounding Devil's Tower's use in the following order: The National Park Service with the best argument, The Lakota People, and with the weakest argument, the climbers. After watching the video presentation in class, I concluded that The National Park Service's standing in the arguments around Devil's Tower's use is the strongest. The National Park Service wants everyone to enjoy Devil's Tower. I believe they are being respectful to the Lakota People, while still trying to accommodate climbers. The Climbers have the weakest argument, their only argument being wanting to climb a sacred monument for Native people. Aside from the climbers, many other people (most being white) are ignorant to the thought of Native's practicing their religion outdoors. They think because the Native people aren't worshiping in a church, their religion doesn't matter, which is wrong. Although America is known as "The Land of The Free", that doesn't give the climbers the right to treat a sacred sight for Lakota People disrespectfully.

I would rank the arguments surrounding Devil's Tower's Use in the following order: Lakota people, National Park Service, and the Climbers third. starting with the Lakota people, a lot of people out of the reservation don't get that some things are sacred to the Lakota Indians. They don't know how sacred and important the Lakota Medician's prayers are on this tower; to say it's "a church" , people should know it's very disrespectful to climb anything associated with a church. and to those who say "It's just a tower we should get to climb the devil's tower" No, you should do the research from the park ranger that they have. listen because the park ranger it's not right to climb the Devil's Tower in the month of June there's is more than you know about the Devil's Tower, yes they're not climbing the tower but still there more than climbing, maybe you ask someone that is from the Lakota tribe because it's a smarter and better way to get the information. so that is why the Lakota people have the best argument.

The National Park Service is more fairer and reasonable because they are trying to satisfy both the Lakota and the Climbers by closing during June and not opening or closing off the mountain all the time. The Climbers argument is the worst because all they have to say is that the mountain should be open all the time just so they could climb, there are so many other places to climb or they could just wait until its open.

I would rank the arguments surrounding Devil's Tower's use in the following order: The National Park Service, The Lakota People, and lastly the Climbers. After watching the video the National Park Service is more sound and accommodating to the situation they have with Devil's Tower. They used laws and fairer sides to both the Lakota and the Climbers. Many saw it "unfair" to how they were trying to work with the Lakota by closing in the month of June. Not only did they try to close Devils tower they made climbers sign to climbing during that month. On the other hand the Lakota people had a pretty good argument on why climbers should not climb Devils Tower. As said it is sacred and is part of the Lakota people themselves. They have every right to argue against the climbers. No Devils Tower is not just a thing you can climb. It is valuable and dearest to Lakota. Something the climbers do not understand. The climbers did not have a very good argument for the situation of climbing. What more are they there for but to climb? They did not give reasons to how or why they should climb. Yes I get climbing is something many do but there are many different places to climb. They do not understand Devils Tower is sacred to many before them.

The National Park is my second because they are trying to help the Lakota people by telling the climbers to not climb it for the month of June and trying to educate them by telling them stories on how it is secret to the tribe but it seems to not go through their ear because they are still climbing the tower. The climbers are the worst out of this whole story because they don't care about how important it is to the tribe.

The towering rock formation is considered sacred by the Native American tribes who reside in the area and rank the Lakota first . However, it has also become a popular tourist destination and a site for rock climbing enthusiasts.

The ranking 1st is the Lakota people should be considered a national monument in my opinion. Supporters of the monument argue that it is an important geological and cultural landmark that deserves protection and recognition. They believe that its status as a national monument would help to preserve its natural beauty and historical significance. 2nd is national park service they support argues that climbing the tower is a violation of the spiritual and cultural significance of the site to Native American tribes.

climbers 3rd ranking of the monument argues that it would limit access to the area for recreational activities such as rock climbing. They also argue that the designation would infringe upon the rights of private landowners in the area.

I would rank the arguments surrounding Devil’s Tower’s Use in the following order: First the Lakota people, second the National Park Service, and last the climbers. My first rank would be the Lakota people's argument because it is more accommodating than the climbers because they have more reasoning as to why they can’t climb Devils Tower. The Lakota people are speaking for Devils Tower, while the climbers are destroying and disrespecting one’s place of worship. The National Park Service has a more effective argument: they are trying to make peace between the two by considering both sides and not letting the climbers climb during the month of June and respecting the Lakota. The National Park Service is doing what they can but what can they do when complaints come in repeatedly on the situation. The Climbers argument is the worst because they don’t have good reasoning. Some of the climbers don’t understand the meaning of not being able to climb Devils Tower because it is sacred. I understood when one of the climbers said “ I've received criticism that I am climbing on someone’s church. I don’t mean to offend anybody. But if there’s a climbing ban that’s put in effect, then I’m being locked out of my church.” “I think the church ought to be open.”, it showed me that they have a passion for climbing. Climbing is what they do but do they really have to climb in that specific spot/area in the first place? They should respect that it’s someone’s church, someone’s place of worship and leave it alone, but instead they climb it like it’s nothing but rock. Not much respect holds in place for the Lakota and what they believe is right and what should be done. The climbers speak their own opinion but it really has no effect because they are there just to climb and they get upset that they can’t climb because of the Lakota’s religion. What the people don’t understand is that land is sacred, a place that holds so much power that others don’t understand how much worth it has. That land was theirs to start with from the beginning, the whites took over and claimed it theirs when it really wasn’t and the Lakota had no control over it. When you look at things today the whites still hold power over anyone. Devils Tower is a sacred place, it holds prayers, ceremonies, spirits, strength and so much more, so it shouldn’t be climbed. The Lakota should have the right to not let anyone climb Devils Tower, it is a sacred place and just like other sacred places they are entitled to be closed down because of a certain amount of reasoning. They should have every right to the land they speak for.

I would rank the arguments surrounding Devil's Tower's use in the following order: The Lakota People with the best argument, then The National Park Service, and lastly the climbers with the weakest argument. Regarding the Devil's Tower the Lakota people have the most effective argument, they gave us facts, heartfelt stories and opinions on why Devil's Tower shouldn't be climbed. The Lakota people were there first, for many years, to them it isn't any "mountain" it's their culture and healing ground. The National Park Service is my second option because they seem to be more understanding to the Lakota people, while doing their job they kindly try to educate the climbers about the month of June and how important Devil's Tower is to the Lakota people. Lastly, the climbers have the worst argument because they can't comprehend the importance of Devil's Tower during the month of June, selfishly the only thing they can argue about is how climbing is their "church" and to restrict climbing for the month of June feels as if their being "kicked out" of their church. Personally they should have no rights to Devil's Tower, especially when they won't listen or understand, let alone respect the Lakota people and their culture.

I would Rank the arguments surrounding Devil's tower's use in the following order. Devils Tower is a unique geological formation that has been a source of controversy for many years. Climbers, Lakota People, and the National Park Service all have different ideas about how to best use this natural wonder. While each group has valid points, it is difficult to determine who has the best idea.Climbers argue that Devils Tower should be open for climbing year-round. They believe that this would attract more visitors and generate revenue for the local economy. However, this idea is not without its drawbacks as it could potentially damage the fragile ecosystem surrounding the tower.

The Lakota People view Devils Tower as a sacred site and believe that it should be protected from any kind of commercial activity. They argue that opening up the area to climbers would be disrespectful to their culture and traditions. The National Park Service aims to strike a balance between these two viewpoints by allowing limited climbing during certain times of the year while also protecting the cultural significance of Devils Tower. In conclusion, each group has its own perspective on how best to use Devils Tower. Ultimately, finding a solution that respects both cultural significance and environmental concerns will be key in determining what is truly "the best" idea.

I would rank the arguments surrounding Devils Towers use in the following order: The National Park Service, The Lakota People, and the climbers. I think that The National Park Service has the best argument because they tried to make accommodations for the climbers and The Lakota people by having a voluntary ban in the month of June because that is when The Natives perform most of their ceremonies. They want everyone to enjoy Devils Tower, and I see myself doing the same thing if I was in The National Park Services' place. The Lakota have the second best argument because all they are asking is to respect Devils Tower because it is sacred to them. How hard is it to do that? Natives have gone through so much, not climbing that tower for one month cannot be that hard. Lastly, I think the climbers have the weakest argument because they don't really have a good reason. I can understand having a connection to a certain place, but I know that there are other places that give me a similar, if not the same feeling as that first place I feel connected to.

I would rank the arguments surrounding Devil's Tower's Use in the following order: National park service would have the best argument due to them backing up both side and trying to find a way for everyone to be happy there like the peace maker. Second i would choose the Lakota people because they are practicing there beliefs and they have been going to devils tower before the climber and you wouldn't like it if people would climb all over a church just because we only use it Sundays. Than last would be the climbers because they can climb any mountain but they choose to climb a mountain that is sacred to people.

I would rank the arguments surrounding Devil's Tower's Use in the following order:The National Park Service.,Lakota people and the climbers. I think the National Park Service have the best argument because the National park Service is just doing their job while the climbers want to climb devils tower an they provide information for the climbers. My second one would be the Lakota people because the Lakota people is telling us facts on why the devils tower shouldn't be climb on and how it's a sacred place. The climbers would be my last because they don't understand how sacred devil's tower is to the Lakota people an how important it is. I'm guessing all the climbers want to do is just climb the mountain they probably don't care how sacred it is to the Lakota people but they choose to climb it anyways.

I would rank the arguments surrounding devils towers use in the following order, Devils Tower is a unique geological mountain located in Wyoming, USA. It has been a sacred site for the Native American tribes for centuries and attracts thousands of tourists every single year. However, there are some who argue that the name of the tower is offensive and should be changed. While on the other hand, those who oppose changing the name argue that it has been called Devils Tower for over a century and changing it would erase its own sacred history. They also argue that renaming it would not solve any real problems at all. Both sides do have good valid points. Changing the name to Bear Lodge would acknowledge their beliefs and help promote cultural understanding to them. In my opinion the Lakota people have a better argument here, the argument that rock climbers are disrespecting Native American beliefs by climbing up and down Devils Tower is flawed. The tower has been used for religious ceremonies by various Native American tribes for centuries, but it was also used as a lookout point and hunting ground. In my opinion I say that Devils Tower is public land and should be accessible to all who wish to climb it. As long as climbers respect the environment, the ceremonies, and follow the established guidelines that are there.

I would rank the arguments surrounding the Devil's Tower in the following order: the best argument would have to be Lakota people, then the climbers, and lastly, the National Park Service.

First, the Lakota have every right to the tower because it's a sacred symbol of their religion and culture. They use this site to pray to their gods and to be able to carry their traditions and practices to their younger generations to this day.

Second, the climbers have been respectful to the Lakota people up to a point that limits the climber's right to climb a recreational and popular site to climb. Even though the climbers sued the National Park Service because it felt it was in violation of their sacred rights, it still doesn't give them the right to climb something sacred to a people who view the tower as a religious symbol.

Third, the National Park, I believe is not doing enough to help the Lakota people by keeping climbers from climbing the tower. They have tried to argue for the Lakota people by offering to ban climbing on the tower in the month of June, now to please the climbers, they have "asked" or "advised" climbers from climbing the tower in June to appease the Lakota people. However, while the Park Service appeases the Climbers, it forbids any climber from climbing Mt. Rushmore which is only 80 miles away.

Finally, this difference in keeping one park that bans climbing because it's viewed as "sacred" to the American people while allowing another park, "sacred" to the Lakota people open for recreational climbing is clearly wrong. The most appropriate way to handle this controversy is to keep both places closed to all climbing for both contribute to keep the traditions and values of the American People alive.
