The networking at ICEPOPS is one of the most useful things I do each year for my development - ways of replicating that throughout the year, strengthening networks with local colleagues etc

I really appreciate the knowledge of colleagues who have copyright as their main role - not all institutions can afford these roles so their higher level of understanding is valuable across the sector.

The ALN copyright group are developing a Copyrights for researchers elearning that can be used and adapted by instiutions. This will be a great resources and big shout out to Manchester for leading on this. More collective projects like this would be beneficial.

The Mentoring Scheme

I really like the idea of the mentoring scheme mentioned at the AGM and other meetings. LIS Copyseek is great to ask questions but the size of it is overwhelming. Having a named contact eases the anxiety less of asking questions.

Less neutrality and be more clear about own ideas and opinions on copyright. While it's about risk and aligning with the legal guidelines the community is a good place to have deeper conversations.

I love the idea of the mentoring scheme and would be very keen to join (as a mentee). A trusted person to ask questions of would be very valuable in developing skills for those new to rights roles

Could be opening a can of worms... I often feel like I'm not aware of the feelings towards copyright within my own institution and the kinds of challenges staff, researchers and students face (maybe due to copyright anxiety of their own?) I wonder if hosting a copyright teach meet within our own institutions would be beneficial for the wider community (and then feeding back what we've learnt into LIS-COPYSEEK/Discord/Icepops to gauge what issues the whole sector faces)?

LIS-COPYSEEK does feel clunky and not as interactive as other available platforms.
