The Japanese promoted their cultures to all schools in Singapore. They had to learn the Japanese language in place of English. They had to help out with gardening and all the things theyre suppose to do which are in now terms called extra lessons

During the Japanese Occupation, the Japanese made Japanese Singapore's first language from 1942 - 1946. As a result, Source 1 tells me that teenagers in Singapore had to learn Japanese. Source 1 also tells me that Japanese was taught in all schools.
Source 5 also supports the point as it tells me that the Japanese also tried to cultivate a sense of Asian consciousness and pride to the public.
Thus the teenagers during the Japanese occupation had to learn Japanese.
During the British rule and the Japanese Occupation there was education present. As a result, the lives of the teenagers did not change much in terms of education.
Source 2 tells you that education was still present during Japanese Occupation.
Thus the lives of the teenagers did not change much during the Japanese Occupation in terms of Education.
