         <description><![CDATA[<p>On this day, we were introduced to our new Unit and told about our assessment, we were informed that we were going to be creating a Ebook and Unit 5 would be based around audio and sounds. We were placed into groups and were told to look into the process of audio and how editing audio affects a piece of work. We were made to be resourceful and through scratching, tearing, tapping and walking on various materials such as cardboard, paper and wood. Without the possession of items, we had to use our imagination and rely on objects found in the room at the time. I was told how to fix broken audio on Final Cut Pro, which was to grab the yellow line in the audio box and drag it up and down to increase and decrease. I felt that my attempt at sound editing and recreating sounds was successful, this is because my process was shown to be successful when demonstrating my victory with my teammates.<span style="font-size: 13px;"> </span></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Today, we were introduced to Photoshop and told to create the background of our custom Ebook. We were given the opportunity to choose from five separate options, and show our progression through screenshots and describing it. I chose to do a bedroom environment for innocent and serene attitude given to the picture. I was unable to save this onto my own computer, and had to save my picture onto a memory stick. I also struggled with my background, and I didn't know how to turn it from a transparent emptiness into a white sheet to base it upon. My progression was slow and careful, but I was capable of achieving it in the end. I found this practical interesting to experiment with, due to the new technique to colour and create shapes based upon an image or multiple images which already exists. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: -webkit-letterpress; white-space: normal; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Our idea for a childrens' book was based loosely off of Shrek's concept, bringing fictional faces into one world where storybook characters coexist with one another. We had ideas and concepts about popular fairytale characters who we wanted to include and make the story seem more diverse with the universe, adding familiar faces and an unlikely storyline to interest children stumbling upon our storybook. </span></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>We were sorted into our groups and advised to talk among ourselves and create ideas, within my group, we talked about addressing familiar faces for children to recognise from their fairytale books and then rearrange their character roles. We wanted to make it stand out with how it presented protagonists and antagonists, tricking the audience and shoving a more diverse and unpredictable story onto the children, rather than something they expect. This will place them in a position where they sympathise with the character they least expect. I found myself participating in discussion work, however I felt that my ideas weren't contributed into the group, and the group felt that they weren't valid to use in their work, which knocked my confidence with compromising with them.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>We focused on the realistic success of our idea, and begun looking up Secondary Research and made to trade ideas and ask questions to do Primary Research, we found that our idea fits in with the competition on the children's market already. Through feedback, we decided to target our idea at a slightly more mature age, 3+. We started to span our ideas by looking into competing books for a very young audience, reading books which are known for being picture novels to entertain children over the age of three. We wanted to focus on a younger audience, to make the suitability of the content as young and allowed as possible, so that there would be a higher chance of the younger age of children enjoying our content. In this lesson I fell behind with work, however I can catch up in my own time and improve for next lesson, by concentrating. </p>]]></description>

         <title>Whiplash Scene</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The relationship between the two was presented with the music played throughout the boy's attempt in trying to prove himself, the boy sitting down was stood over by the man on stage, making him look smaller in stance and smaller in role. However, the boy was attempting to round the man above him by playing through his words and staring fearlessly at his condescending glare. He was immune to being intimidated into his place and through determined played through a furious beating matter.&nbsp;</p><p>The awkward silence which was played throughout the beginning was painting the picture between the boy and the man, the eerie, empty tension played to establish the broken connection the two have. When music starts to beat throughout his performance in confrontational crescendos, it represents the hatred boiling inside of the two; out of lack of dominance and pure sabotage, the two are rounding each other in an attempt to best the other. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Approaching the assignment brief, we were assigned to search through the list of Bloomsbury publications to familiarise ourselves with competing other children's' books and getting an idea of the plots and story lines which are seen as interesting by the younger audience. It's best not to plagiarise off the ideas we read through, and merely base an idea of what is appropriate in a book that is suitable for children standards. <span style="font-size: 13px;">We were told to work on Phtotoshop and experiment with applying textures to a blank line art of cartoon characters for an idea for art, this was to experiment with the colours and patterns designed to appeal to children. I was struggling with my piece and found the program difficult to manage and work through. I asked for help from Dave, and slowly progressed, I also struggled with settings and saving errors with my computer and I was unable to save images due to a full hard drive, but I was able to ask for help and I was able to overcome my problem. Next time to avoid my mistake, I'll keep my Rubbish Bin clear and keep my work organised.</span></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>My teammates suggested putting a crown on Prince Charming at the last minute, rendering me unable to change him with his colours already enabled into his form. I would have had to edit with the levels and completely disturb the colour and patterns of the character. Next time to avoid this problem, I will save two separate images of a blank colourless character and my colour trial. We were able to get a background done, too, thanks to Maisie and Beckie. I met my target by getting my character done by the end of the day, and not discontinuing an unfinished piece for next lesson. We are progressing in our Ebooks, and we're making amazing development with our animation; I believe we will be able to hit the deadline or finish before hand.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I have contributed with my group discussion and we have compromised to complete our character voices and contemplate music for our animation. I have been nominated as the Mad Hatter and Prince Charming, with our script and we're fully prepared to record our character voices and save them. Our recording was successful, however I struggled keeping one voice for the two characters I played, eventually taking retakes and rehearsing while focusing on one character at a time to avoid confusion.  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Today, I managed to help another group with voice acting and added another character to our project. I spend the afternoon drawing and colouring Red Riding Hood, listening to my team mate's advice to complete the appeal. I achieved my target by being focused on my target, and acting independently upon my work. I didn't get distracted, and I was very ambitious to reach my target. We both had our jobs and with the lack of our third team mate, I found it difficult to progress, but we didn't let it stop us from moving forward with our work. For next lesson, I will complete the last character, apply colour to Mad Hatter, and complete the unfinished background. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The reviewer did well with analysing and breaking down the plot of the story without giving away the ending, advising that the experience is worth while. He added some elements of comedy within the work, which complimented his interest of the movie. His use of examples backed up his points, and his critical language was brief and listed the emotions that the film brought him. He went into depth of how effectively the film moved him, how it made him feel. He went onto say about the effectiveness of music, and how the Jazz was a nice contrast.</div>]]></description>
