When teaching, there are many ways in which culture can be shown, whether that be in an article that explains a folktale from a specific culture or, more specifically, looking into history to identify different perspectives like people's coming to America story or old accounts of Native Americans in the era of world exploration there are many ways to help students to feel represented and still make other cultures of interest to all students.

Fostering inclusion is important in the classroom and leaves room for awareness and encourages acceptance in the classroom (Drexel University 2023). As students grow, they will then understand the importance of being empathetic and have a greater sense of what makes them and others special. As a teacher this would look like doing research not only about students cultures but also how to best represent it in class in a way that is respectful and does justice to the culture.

Engaging families is an important part of demonstrating culture in the classroom. Inviting parents to do a show and tell in the classroom makes for an authentic experience for someone who is familiar with the culture and has great knowledge of the topic. Furthermore, they are able to bring forth the most exciting and influential parts of their own culture while also being there to support their child's education. Allowing for these types of visits can increase not only the students' knowledge but also parent-teacher relationships.
