Items of stained glass are handmade using the traditional copper foil method of stained glass. It is labor and time intensive, but very satisfying seeing your design finally take place. The solder used in the creation of the stained glass contains 60% Tin 40% Lead.

It is said pendants made entirely of dichroic glass beads can be traced back to Mesopotamia and Ancient Greece as early as 2500 B.C. Modern dichroic glass is created in space age conditions where black or clear glass is coated with many, many layers of metal oxides which combined gives the glass its special optical effects.

Layers of glass are heated for up to 5 hours until reaching a fusion temperature of approximately 850 degrees C (1562F). At his temperature the glass enters a semi-molten state allowing the layers of glass to fuse and the edges to round off. The pieces are then cooled very slowly over a number of hours to avoid the glass shattering.
