psychosurgery is surgically altering the brain to treat sever mental health conditions, usually when other treatments have failed. It’s used for conditions like sever depression, OCD, or chronic pain. In psycho surgery, doctors typically alter the brain by removing or destroying small areas of brain tissue that are thought to be causing the mental health issues. One common method is called a lobotomy, where parts of the brain’s frontal lobe are cut or damaged. Another method is deep brain stimulation, where electrodes are implanted in specific brain areas to regulate activity. These procedures aim to change brain function to alleviate symptoms of certain mental health disorders.
