<title>I feel some subjects such as math and science are difficult to evaluate by all with the same validity. Some teachers in my group expressed concern and frustration evaluating a Science topic. They found it difficult to determine if the student accurately supported the prompt or used the correct terminology because they were not familiar with the content. For example, If you don&#39;t know how to solve a two step equation, how can one use a rubric to determine if the student used backwards thinking to undo the problem?</title>

<title>I feel that the protocol is very good to keep everyone focused and allows for everyone to have a voice. As long as there is a rubric for the student work, it is becoming easier to evaluate the work. I know it is easier in your own subject area, so I hope this can be used in smaller gourp PLC&#39;s.</title>

<title>The protocol, etc. works well. I know it&#39;s been discussed many times, but I don&#39;t know what the result was...should there be a school wide rubric for writing? The evidence content will differ, but the need for source-based and cited evidence could be universal. Having just gone to a writing training last week, today&#39;s experience made me realize how confusing it must be for students to write in different subjects but have significant differences in expectations. How will students understand that what they write in a content area may earn them a low score on FSA writing? No matter what the source documents are, such as informational texts in LA or science experience and reading in science class, the student still needs to demonstrate understanding of the subject matter, which is also the case for their writing FSA.</title>

<title>In our group we talked about how one teacher was &quot;turned off&quot; because of the question stated in the first paragraph and the use of 2nd person in the writing. A LA teacher said, we teach the students to &quot;hook&quot; the reader by asking a question and by using 2nd person!</title>
