First graders in 2022 weren't even born yet when a devastating 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit Haiti.  At least 160,000 Haitians were killed during the earthquake and the aftershocks.  Millions were affected by the damage.  Canadian artists formed Young Artists for Haiti and sung a version of the song "Wavin' Flag" by Somali-Canadian artist K'naan. Google has designed a fun app that analyzes a user's selfie and then determines what famous art face the user resembles. Are you a famous subject, like the Mona Lisa, or are you someone new to you? There are other features of this app which allow you to "project" the fine art into your space, find art using the color palette of your photos, use your phone as a "pocket gallery," and take a photo and transform it into classic artworks. The late Jacques d'Amboise was a tremendously accomplished dancer and choreographer in his own right when he decided to begin teaching New York City schoolchildren how to dance. His children's classes and shows became legendary and the subject of at least one documentary. In this interview, d'Amboise discusses his strategies for teaching his young students, including his deaf students, how to dance.
