In 1896, he found that the radiation he discovered could not be x-rays. x-rays are neutral and cannot be bent in a magnetic field. This showed that particles could be emitted from within the atom. Therefore the atom was not invisible Henri also found there were 3 classes of radioactivity: negative, positive, and neutral.
