Hello! My name is Hannah Elizabeth Mabry. I was born and raised in Bayou La Batre which is a small town in the most southern part of Alabama. I graduated from Alma Bryant High School with honors and then obtained my Associate of Arts degree at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. After graduating from MGCCC, I decided that I wanted to be a teacher, so I came back home to Alabama and graduated from the University of Mobile with an English degree and a certification in Secondary Education. My love for music paid my way through college as I have played clarinet for over 10 years and I balanced all of this while working a full time job while also maintaining a 3.9 GPA. Below are a few photos of the people that mean the most to me.

These are my parents who have supported me through everything I have ever endured. I can honestly say that these guys raised me to be loving and hard working. I get my work ethic from my dad and my loving heart from my mom.

V. SAMR Model

This assignment was our first assignment in my TE 405 class. This assignment taught me that it is impossible to teach one specific way. I had never heard of the SAMR Model before this assignment, but it proved to me that professionals have been working diligently to cater to a society who thrives on the use of technology. Even in my future class, I will use this model to further the integrity of my lessons to instill a more efficient way of learning.

VI. Meet The Teacher

Using Wakelet to construct my "Meet The Teacher" assignment was a refreshing way to introduce myself. It challenged me to think outside of the box and be creative. It proved that there is life outside of PowerPoint and Google Slides. I will definitely use Wakelet in my future class for discussion boards.

VII. Teacher Interview

I interviewed Anna Lange for my "Teacher Interview" assignment. She was an absolute joy and gave me some great advice in classroom management. One of the more important aspects, to her, is engaging in a close relationship with her students. She explains that in doing this, she has a clearer idea of how to construct her lessons and she says that this method has proven to limit the disruptions in her class. I feel as if this is an aspect I would cling to in my future class.

VIII. Emerging Tech Tools

This assignment required me to research an up and coming Tech Tool. I chose Augmented Reality to evaluate as a helpful tool in the classroom. I found that it offers an elevated way of learning. I learned that children can use this tool to get a closer look at whatever they are studying. Even nursing students use this in their course of study. In my future class, I will integrate this into my lessons to allow the students to get a clearer view of the texts we will be reading.

IX. Video Project

Being an English major, it can be difficult synching in on my creative side. This project allowed me to integrate technology and art to create a short lesson for my students. I can see myself using this in my future class by allowing the students to create their own video. I feel that it is important for students to work together towards a common goal and this would be a project that I would use to implement that aspect of learning.

X. Digital Assessment

Doing the Digital Assessment project allowed me to assess the lesson I created for the Video Project. It forced me ponder on the overall message I wanted the students to learn. I feel that digital assessments are a good way to change up the way students engage in their assessments. There are several ways that teachers can assess students and I feel that this would be a great way to integrate technology into their lesson plans. I wouldn't necessarily use this tool for every assessment, But I would definitely use this to change things up.

XI. Nearpod Lesson

The lesson I curated using Nearpod was a challenge. I had to plan out exactly what I wanted my students to learn and how to keep them engaged. I decided to do "Writing Mechanics" because I feel as if that is a subject that students struggle with even in college. It was refreshing to myself as a college student to challenge myself with a subject that I have been practicing for most of my life. For my future class, Nearpod will be a website used to do overview lessons to our main lessons.

XII. Concluding Thoughts

Taking this class has been a blessing to say the least. I grew up in the age where technology was not used as often as it is now. It has been humbling to see how much growth education has experienced. I am so excited to integrate the lessons and tools I have learned for my future class. Thank you, Professor Fetner, for being flexible and diligent during these peculiar times. You have been nothing short of a blessing.
