     I am a returning student majoring in English and will be graduating Butler Community College in the Fall of 2022. I am an avid reader but haven't read much recently due to a high school workload and being in a temporary living situation. This means my entire collection of books are in a storage unit in Texas and I only brought one suitcase of clothes. My husband had to talk me out of bringing books! I am absolutely someone who prefers a physical copy of a book rather than an ebook, but I have been known to read the occasional ebook and audiobook. My family's military affiliation gives me access to the MWR/DOD online library which has been an amazing resource for our family. This is all to say that I don't think less of ebooks or audiobooks. My son got into reading through audiobooks and still listens to them every night to fall asleep so I absolutely value all formats. 
     I am taking this class because I had a love of poetry in school and recently rekindled that love. I stumbled upon Eric Hanson on pinterest and went on to buy all three books in the series "The Poetic Underground". 
 I have two indoor dogs named Cheers and Rocco. And recently, I acquired an outdoor cat that I named Morticia. I have always wanted an all black cat. Currently, I am temporarily staying with family and my father has been trying to tame this cat for months he says. Well, the cat has chosen me. It is obsessed! I named her Morticia from the Adams Family because no one else would agree to my other stereotypical black cat names.
