Of the teachers I have spoken too about the differences in motivation between pre-covid times to now, have stated that the differences are major. Some speak about how students procrastinate much more than before, don't turn work i on time, or submit work that isn't to the best of their abilities. Most of these students with these new traits, have not been like that previously in classes with the same teachers.

83% students responded saying that their motivation has decreased and 16.7% had stated that their motivation has stayed the same.

When asked to elaborate on their answers a few students stated:
- online was easy and i could cheat so i lost motivation to put in actual effort

- Lack of interaction between students and teachers

- I would sit at bed all day and do my work form there and that really decreased my motivation to do school work at all

- teachers and students have lost the fun aspect of school

Students now feel disconnected from their teachers and classmates, causing the decrease in interest and effort levels towards school. Being at home wasn't fun or interactive for them making it easy to push everything off or simply just cheat when needed.

The surveyed students having admitted to the fact that they're were major setback had some possible solutions that could have decreased the urgency of this problem.
- Better hybrid learning style and if people who were online were not as tailored but not ignored
- Teachers reaching out to students more when they’re online
- i think we should have done more interactive assignments because it is very easy to lose focus
- changed the pace of assignments and learning to ensure online students don't fall behind
- giving students more time to do work and figure things out
-I think less work given this school year could have made a smoother transition, I know that I have an immense amount of homework this year. We had easy work and very little to do that was able to be done from home.

Students have shown their many suggestions, most having to do with the difference in work loads. During online school, students had it so easy, and now with full in person it's being treated as "normal" when students haven't quite adjusted to that work load and how to handle all of it each night.

Students were given the opportunity to express what they would like to say to prove their use of civil disobedience and stick up for themselves during situations that have affected them.
Here's what they would like to say:
- I would say that the teachers need to minimize the workload again and have easy assignment that are able to be complete while still learning objectives.
- i would talk about how this transition really took a toll on my mental health, and i would explain how hard it was to transition
- I would talk about how there is a gap and there is time to make up, but it's not impossible. While learning was interrupted and there was setbacks, there is still an ability to regain what was lost.
- i would wanna speak out but i know the school wouldn't listen to what we have to say about the issue
- it was awful and i feel like my mental health was greatly affected

Some students would take the opportunity to point out the flaws, while others take the perspective of reform and the need to satisfy change in the way things are being done.

More than a handful of teachers at Suffield High School have been affected in similar ways as students due to this transition. Teachers also spent much time at home, just like the students had resulting in similar motivational issues. Teacher have also struggled on their end in ways to help students that have been majorly affected, but lack of knowledge on situations like these makes it difficult to encourage students to be more involved in school and their work.
