One interesting thing about me is I am Peranakan.

My experience with youth was way back when I was in the social services sector, and technology is of a personal dabbling and interest.

One interesting point about me is I love dogs and have 2 fur kids 🐶 they are definitely easier to parent than my girls!! 😅

My work with youth is through my tutoring experience (Principle of Accounts) for Sec 3-5 students. I like interacting with them, and knowing them better outside the subject. Some are "guai" students, some more playful. Some of them have mild learning difficulties (dyslexic memory, mild autism), some super quiet and some super noisy (which is more fun). Most of the time, I am in constant contact with the parents as well to keep them updated about their child(ren)'s learning progress. Over time, I also become friends with some of the parents.

For technology, it's really mainly the core (MS Office - Excel, Word, Powerpoint) due to my previous accounting work experience. But my girl has introduced me to Kahoot! to add fun for the students' learning. I also learn creating IG post from my girls (still not very good).

I have a very old lady (Purrple) with us. She is 22 years this year. We adopted her from someone when she was 15, and she has been with us for 7 years now.

I like to interact with people from very young kids to very old kids as well.

I am not exactly tech-savvy but I hope this module will at least bring me up to speed on anything and everything about youths and technology. See you : )

I’m Janice. I have been working in the automotive industry for more than a decade. Although I joined a charity organization 8 years ago and have participated in numerous home visits, I haven’t had many opportunities to interact with youth.  In recent years, I have come to realize and that being a youth today is more challenging  than it was in my time. I want to learn more about this so I can provide support and advice in the future, especially I have 3 nieces who are in their youth now.

One interesting thing about me is that I am a vegetarian.  See you tomorrow :)

Was in the advertising industry for more than 10 years and I'm hoping to find my next career in something I'm passionate about. I only have experience with youth thru my kids and their friends. I see that youths these days face so much stress and challenges in life. I would like to be able to help them in whatever little ways I can, so that they may be happier, and prepared to face the world confidently. 💖

I don't fear technology, neither do I love it. But we're in a society where we cannot live without it. Therefore we just have to embrace and go with the flow 😉

I am Kerstin. My passion grew in helping youth grew when I was struggling to understand my own kids. I started volunteering in Catholic church to facilitate Sunday School for the youth about 5 years ago. Covid struck and have to do it via zoom. Till now I am still uncomfortable conducting class via zoom. I find it hard to engage them and I dislike the feeling of them ghosting us in a zoom meeting.

I have experience teaching youths to use elderly friendly tablets for community service sessions for befriending and usage of coding games for youths to engage with pri/sec school students
