As a new law student, I commit to the study of law with a desire to expand my knowledge and stance of the world. I acknowledge that while I may not know where I will be following the completion of my degree, I choose to uphold the standards and ethics of the profession that I will learn throughout this journey. I will consistently check in with my mental health and seek help if I feel like I am struggling through this academic shift. I will always try to be prepared to the best of my ability and explore topics that are of particular interest to me. I will have the courage to step outside of my comfort zone and speak openly because it will only benefit my understanding of the course. I will always respect and encourage my fellow students in their studies. I seek to learn because I want to challenge myself and actively commit to justice.

As a new university student, I commit to studying my degree, whether that be law or any other degree I choose to pursue, with great diligence and integrity. I acknowledge and duly swear to abide by the UOW Student Charter for as long as I am a current student at the University of Wollongong. I accept that by choosing to undertake a law degree, I am allowing myself to be held accountable for any actions that do not uphold the highest levels of ethical and moral responsibility. This responsibility will be held at both a personal and professional level, and shall begin at the commencement of my studies, and for as long as I choose to participate in the legal profession. I will treat my fellow students, academics and society with the level of respect I wish to be returned to myself. Everything is valid, if you can justify it. If you believe something research, read, write, converse and allow your thoughts to be heard and considered. I must also accept that like I would do to others, others will challenge me. This is my chance to learn, take criticism and work smarter and harder. 
As a law student I am committing to study and work with integrity and respect. Committing to searching deeper and questioning everything that I am faced with.
This is also a commitment to social justice and fairness. This degree will equip me with the tools I need to help people and change situations, and with that I must do so. 
Law School will challenge me every day but it will also shape me into a better and deeper thinking person.
