Email etiquette and texting are a very important aspect in today"s world. The future will be much more concerned about formal communication. Emailing is something which is much more of a documentation of files, it helps to keep a record of documents.  
Texting is not much formal and no formalism is inhabited. Also email makes a good impression on the viewer, which texting doesn't allow. Still many companies are there who haven't yet realised the importance of emailing. Their should be proper education given to employees for the same. 
Email increases the morale and commitment of a person towards the work also develops the communication chain in an organization.
