Stomachers were very popular in that time too. They are triangular and fit into the front of the dress. This was because they had easy access to it and it made breathable comfortable clothes. Native Americans  that did not have access to cotton would make their clothes out of other plants such as 
mulberry bark or sagebrush. They would weave it to make leggings, dresses or jackets. They also used leather a lot because it was waterproof and warm. Another thing they would do to make their clothes water resistant was add fringe because the water would dry faster. They would make all of this by using porcupine needles. the british would make fun of these clothes and considered there fashion more sophisticated. this is a pattern that has happened a lot in history where people will think that because a traditional outfit is a little different than theres that it is worse. its not worse its just different. They would also wear elaborately decorated shirts which you could see from under their coat. The pants were high waisted and the coat looked just like a cape. Native Americans value being able to work and play. based on there clothing they wear practical clothing. Native American clothing was made specifically designed  to be fast drying.
