I didn't really know much about the topic of discussion but while I was reading I saw that while I was reading that Amazon made a 2nd HQ and cities had to place a bid to get it built in there city and it was built in northern Virginia.

Something I knew previously about capitalism is that it involves marketing and making profit off of what is being sold. I learned that from my history classes over the years, and from listening to business owners speaking about it.
For socialism, I didn't hear about it much but when I read the Teen Vogue article I gained knowledge and it seems to be in relation with democrats, and wanting to change the workplace where "ordinary people" are more involved in economics.

I’ve just heard that attempts to socialism or communism aren’t successful. Some examples of that being Venezuela and North Korea. From the reading, I understood that socialism is aimed at helping the working class from billionaires that take advantage of them. As well, as letting the people have a say in how the economy is handled.

I knew about socialism previously from listening to AOC talk in Congress. I also heard about capitalism from previous purchases l've made such as an Apple Ipad and an Apple Iphone.

Something I had read in the one of the articles was that most young Americans and republicans between the ages 18-24 preferred socialism over capitalism and that they were inspired by European democracies.

In one of my previous classes we heard and read a lot on capitalism and the government as a whole. From what I know capitalism is basically when a corporation owns the means of production and make a lot of money off of it.

As for socialism I have not heard a lot about it but the definitions the articles gave about socialism did ring a bell, just not something I could remember.

I don't know much but i have heard of the terms in US history before. I was taught them but don't remember what they mean.

I do not really remember when this topic has been brought up but I know I’ve heard these term in classes such as history classes when a topic was discussed.

Before reading both articles I had mostly never talked about socialism or capitalism. I have heard both terms before this class, but have never went in depth with both.

I didn't know much about the topic. Something that I found in the heritage foundation article was that the problem of inequality of wealth didn't come from a capitalist society, instead it came from the spread of cronyism throughout the economy

I knew that socialism is about politics and talking about economics. Capitalism is about the rich and brands like Walmart, Target etc.

I know Capitalism is about supply and demand, normally corporate owned production. In many video games where trading is involved you can easily notice price gauging for certain materials that only a certain person can provide.

For Socialism I haven't heard too much about it let alone understand it.

In my history classes from previous years, capitalism always came up some how. Im not to familiar with socialism but I'm assuming it has something to do with the different classes and how they interact but I could be wrong.

Capitalism and socialism are opposing economic theories. Socialism is an economic and political social ownership and control meanwhile capitalism is private ownership that controls business and capital assets.

Something I've previously known about capitalism was that capitalism is when private ownerships control the means of production and distribution is determined by the amount of supply and demand.

For socialism its more centered around on the idea that community, instead of private individuals should own and control the means of production.
