  • Architecture is more than just an art form that is seen and perceived in the eyes. Knowing these things such as it’s principles, elements and concepts, make architecture more unique and distinctive. Without these fundamental parts of architecture, what will happen to the infrastructures around the world? Will it be as pleasing, appealing and useful at the same time? Will it serve as a purposeful pieces of structure in the daily lives of people? Will it be as meaningful and valuable as a form?
  • The value of art varies on the work itself. There’s a relationship between function and value as art.
  • The principles of design and elements of architecture integrate with each other in order to give an impactful and appropriateness to the architecture.
  •  Architecture is not simply a structure to dwell by a person.  It has a life of its own.

It has its principles of structure, composition, design, design concepts, and elements that creates its beauty, distinction and uniqueness.
    • The Principles of Structure are the post and lintel system, arcuated form, and truss system.
    • The Principles of Composition is defined through its appropriateness in beauty which focuses on the art side. These principles are the Ordinatio, Dispositio, Eurythmia, Symmetria, decor and distributio.
    • The Design Concepts in architecture had expressed in basic and fundamental discussions of size, scale, proportion, harmony, unity, variety, contrast, balance, rhythm, emphasis, pattern and ornament.
    • The elements of Architecture that are basically fundamental are line, color, texture, space, value and shape. Design Concepts of Architecture are connected to the principles of design to create a significant, appealing, and suitability as a structure and design. 
    • Form follows Function: The object’s form is often established by it’s function. Whenever there’s a change of function in the object, the form changes.
