         <description><![CDATA[<p>An African American civil rights activist best known for her role in the Montgomery Bus Boycott. </p><p>At age two Rosas parents split and she move with her mom to her grandparents. Early on Rosa faced racial discrimination and activism for racial equality, she regularly fought back against white children that were bulling and being racists. </p><p>Rosas grandparents endured a lot in America, as they witnessed the slave trade first hand and Rosas grandfather once stood with a shotgun in front of their house whilst the Kukulkan marched their street. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>In 1955 Rosa led the Montgomery Bus Boycott, After refusing to give up her seat during busy hours to a white person on a segregated bus. </p><p>At this time owning a car was not common and many people used the bus to reach there destinations, it is mentioned that bus drivers had the powers of a police officer of the city.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Rosa Parks' was highly successful in sparking and contributing to the broader Civil Rights Movement. However, there were aspects of the Civil Rights Movement that were less successful and did not achieve immediate or complete success. Challenges and setbacks were often apart of a larger, ongoing struggle for civil rights. Such as some protests or demonstrations faced resistance and violence from opposition forces, leading to setbacks. Additionally, not all legal challenges to segregation were initially successful, and progress was often slow and hard to fight for.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>As a young girl I loved learning all about history, I can vividly remember never missing an episode of CBBC's Horrible Histories which was a wildly popular show in the UK. </p><p>Rosa Parks was the first American civil rights activist i remember hearing of on Horrible Histories, her legacy continues today around the world pushing others to stand up against injustice, discrimination, and oppression, emphasizing the enduring importance of individual and collective efforts in social justice.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>In 1930's Rosa worked and was considered accomplished, Rosas husband Reymond Parks was a barber and active member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), he later passed in 1977. </p><p>Rosa Parks, a youth leader and secretary to NAACP president until 1957. Rosa investigated the cases of Rey Taylor as well as Emmett Till. </p><p>Awarded Martin Luther King Jr by NAACP, the presidential medal of freedom, and congressional gold medal. </p>]]></description>
