Cumbria Sexual Health service provides confidential advice and support on a range of sexual health issues. We offer testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs). We also provide, for free, all types of contraception including emergency contraception.

How to get to Birchwood Clinic

From the A590:

at the Park Road roundabout take the 1st exit
follow signs for Furness General Hospital onto Abbey Road
turn right onto Dalton Lane
turn left into the entrance for Furness General Hospital
turn left and left again following signs for Birchwood Clinic

From Dalton:

from Market Street turn left onto Abbey Road
continue for 1 mile

If you’re arriving into Barrow by train, you can take the number 6 bus from the Magistrates Courts (Stop S) to Furness General Hospital. There’s also a taxi rank in front of the station. Walking from the train station to Furness General Hospital takes 50 minutes.

The main car park is located in front of the main entrance. There are also some spaces at the side and the rear of the building. There are 10 spaces for disabled patients, 6 at the front, 2 at the rear and 2 at the side. There’s also a drop off point outside the main entrance.

Charges

Parking for blue badge holders is free. All other patients and visitors must pay at a payment machine. The machines accept 20p, 50p, £1 and £2 coins.
