GOLD- The causes of Exploration for Matthew would be considered positive. Mathew was the first person to sail around all of Australia. He kept notes on the way so people can know the border of it, he also named the continent so it now had a name. It could also be negative because it could create conflict if other explorers got jealous that matthew was the first person and that he got to name the continent.

GLORY- The causes of Exploration for Matthew Flinders would be positive. Growing up Mathew got good education because he wanted to become a surgeon like his father, but when he reading a book he became really interested in Exploration. He joined a voyage crew.

It could also be negative because he could have gotten hurt.

Matthew Flinders made a map of Australia's borders. This is a positive effect because other explorers can use it to further explorer Australia.Matthew Flinders circumnavigating Australia is a positive effect because at the time many sections of the coast were unknown at the time. So it helped people find out what was really there.Matthew Flinders inspired other explorers, which is a negative effects because voyaging is very dangerous and some people die. It is also positive because it can lead to discovering new things.

Left Behind- In 1802 Matthew Flinders went on a voyage to circumnavigate Australia. His ship was discovered to be very leaky so he had to throw over his ankors. They were discovered later by Australian scuba divers. This impacts people because it shows proof that Matthew Flinders circumnavigated Australia. People could also use the fact that he had to throw his angkor over to improve the anchor. Many people use anchors or something similar to this day when they go boating. It is used so you don't float away in the water and stay in the place you want if you do something like fishing.
Took- Matthew flinders didn't take anything physically from Australia but he did bring back a map of Australia's borders. Matthew was a cartographer, he also discovered that Tasmania was an island below Australia. This impacts people because now people can know about this new land. They can use the map to know all the borders of Australia. Also other explorers can use it to explorer on land and find new discoveries. This connects to today because everyone knows about the continent of Australia. People also can fly there to go on vacation, or if they want to go to a popular place.

These are some of the effects of colonization. The first effect of colonization is that it causes change, from hunting and trading to personal warfare. This is a negative effect because some people may not want to change the way they do things on their daily life. Another negative effect of colonization is that people could bring it diseases. This is negative because it causes people to die and people lose their family. A last effect of colonization is that it causes cultural blending. This is positive because people can be introduced to new things.
