         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>After World War II, tank engines had an output of 500 - 800 horsepower. Engines with this power were installed in the M1 and in the Leopard 2, giving them power to weight ratios of more than 20 horsepower/ton.</li><li>The M-48 tank, had mounted machine guns, could travel up to 30 mph and was used to provide support for United States and South Vietnamese troops.</li><li>The M48A3’s wide tracks lead it to have good off-road mobility, but Vietnam’s extremely soft, mud frequently caused it to sink.</li></ul>]]></description>
