1. Students are able to demonstrate their learning on google classroom slide to show they understand how to order a storyboard and fill in a planner document for a piece on explanation writing.
2. Verbally answering questions during class by unmuting or by putting their hands up.
3. Students could participate in answering questions through the chat box. If their cameras were on, they could show their understanding through thumbs up or down.
4.Students were able to do the work at their own pace as they each had their own copy of slides to use. The planner document was open-ended so the students have their freedom to fill it in with student agency.

The teacher made her assessment clear and gave visual cues and explanation of the assessment.
Star 2: The teacher asked questions and help the students made connection to what they have learnt previously.
Wish: The background control could have been better by muting loud students to have smoother flow of assessment.

1) They are able to demonstrate their learning through questioning.

2) The main way of assessment during the lesson was through questioning. Sandra asked lots of questions based on what they previously learnt and analysed pictures to see students' understanding of what personification is.

3) Perhaps using the chat box to encourage other students to participate in answering questions or even the polls would allow shy students to engage with the topic.

4) Although we only saw a small snapshot of her lesson, we saw questioning through analysing an example together. Sandra used focused questioning using pictures as an example of what personification is. When Sandra asked students to give examples of personification in the pictures (steaming car) students used creativity (voice, ownership) to demonstrate their understanding.

⭐: Good use of formative assessments - use of questioning and students responding verbally, or typing in chat, or through PearDeck.
⭐: Students demonstrated achieving the outcome by creating similes and metaphors from picture prompts on PearDeck and there was follow-up with home learning for the outcome.
🧞‍♂️: Make sure students are practising turn taking when responding. Have students type or write down their personification sentences from the picture prompts instead of just verbally sharing them. Students could make a short comic strip about personifying a nonhuman object and supporting that sentence with a visual.

⭐️ I was so happy to join for student presentations! Sharing their work in front of the class is a brave thing, and I think they did great. Even if they seemed nervous, or encountered technical difficulties, they surged ahead and didn't give up!
⭐️ I like how you asked follow-up questions. It seems like this project was a great way to assess their learning, and your questions added to the depth of assessment.
🧚 Something you could try is teaching the kids how to use less text on their slides, and read from notecards instead. This can help engage the audience to follow along with visuals!

1. Students use their voice(responses, questions) and writing to demonstrate the learning.
2. Students can make their own sentences both verbally and with their writing. It is really impressive that the teacher can type students' responses with emojis flags to show their voices visually on the screen, so students can see each others voice and share their understanding of the sentence pattern.
3. If time permits, it would be lovely if students can make a song with their own sentences and sing it out.
4. Students were able to answer teachers' questions on the screen and write down their answers with the right characters. The teacher tried to make sure every student has a chance to have their own voice and guided them in a very patient way. Not just correcting the pronunciation, the teacher tried to guide them to think about the sentence pattern they were using.
