Arch bridges are very popular.

They were very useful 3000 years ago.

They were the height of popularity.

Today arch bridges are still in use.

With the help of modern materials their arches can be build on much larger scales.

Because of the arch bridges design they became very popular during the Roman Empire.

Many of the bridges remain standing today.

Roman designs were usually made with semicircular arches.

Arch bridges had a crucial design advantage which separated them from the ordinary semicircular bridges.



Positives:  they can supply higher levels of resistance. 
Their design is great when it comes to pressure.
They can be made from virtually anything.
They come with no twist.

Negatives: the construction is s tough job.
Their range is limited.
They need extra care.
It can take a very long time to build.
They use up a lot of money.

Purpose: it was in use  3000 years ago and it remained being very popular until industrial revolution and invention of advanced materials.

My design is about 50cm long and the curves are 5cm. I have used a lot of layers of popsticks for support so it does not fall down.
