According to the K. Wayne Yang, why is land such a crucial element of the American university, an institution that the author explicity, defines as a settler colonial formation (refer here to the Morill Act)? Do you think the author analysis of land in relation to settler colonialism, dispossession and profit is useful, at all, to better understanding yout everyday experiences with the univ.?

This passage encouraged me to question my own campus, UCR, and it made me realize how oblivious I was to how this university and many other universities obtain and manage their land, at the expense of others.

Made me realize in greater detail that land is such a crucial element because to the people that are deprived of it and their culture, they obtain resources that allow them to make a living for themselves. Furthermore, the people that are exploited by the violent acts of settler colonialism are deprived of their home and lose basically everything they had.
