D - Day is a day that changes the tide of war for the Allied forces When did it happen? Where did it happen? What might the soldiers have been feeling as they embarked on this mission to attack Hitler's Atlantic Wall? Do you feel that this battle was worth fighting even though it was certain to lose so many soldiers?

D-day was on June 6th, 1944. Soldiers would have probably have felt nervous, since so many lives had been lost. But they probably also felt like they were doing the right thing. Which they were.

I believe the battle was definitely worth fighting. If it weren't for d-day, we would have probably lost the war. Who knows what would happen if Hitler had won, there may not be any jewish people left. Plus, Hitler had already killed so many people, and we couldn't let him kill more. I know so many lives were lost on this day. But many more would have been lost without this day. In conclusion, I suppose that D-day is very important. I believe that all of the lives that were lost were worth it to win the war.

That must have very scary for every single person in D- Day. D- Day took place on June 6th, 1944. D- Day was very important took the allies because this would have pushed back german forces and the Allies would take control of a small part of Europe. I watched the D- Day clip from saving private ryan and it was brutal. As soon as they opened the doors for the boats the soldiers in the front would be instantly shot by heavy german machine guns. If you survived you would have been one of the luckiest men on the face of the earth. I think I would have ever been brave enough to push on during D- day. D- day for me is the most interesting topics in world war 2 because it is so breathtaking to learn and watch of what happened on that horrible day. But in the end you have to ask yourself "Is it worth fighting for?"

D-day occured on June 16 1944.I feel bad for the families of soldiers (on both sides). For some family that could be your older brother or son. I don't know why any parent would let their 16 year old son join the war. I would want my child to carry on my legacy. I don't know how the soldiers built up the courage to go and run towards an army that is trying to kill them. They must have known that they most likely going to die that day, and that if they gave up their lives fighting and lost, they would die in vain.If think that Hitler knew that things were going to start to go wrong. America started winning battles and Hitler was not ready for the war to be over. I think that it was worth it because if they had not stopped Hitler thing would have gotten much, much worse. He would have invaded America and would have enslaved people even slightly different.

D-day was on June 6th 1944. soldiers probably were proud to do this but also nervous because they knew that it would be hard it would be treacherous and that most of them wouldn't make it out alive. But the soldiers were brave and they fought for what was right and didn't run away even though they were running into the gunfire. They also pushed German troops back. Even though they had won the battle it cost them dearly many troops were lost. I bet at the end of the day the generals were weighing the decisions and thinking is this really worth it and will we win the war.

d-day occurred on June 6th, 1944. the soldiers were probably feeling scared. I would be TERRIFIED if were the soldiers. The soldiers were probably very nervous if they were going to make it out alive or not. I definetly think that war is worth fighting for. ( That rhymes) I think that because If they didnt attack the Natzi's on normandy beach, Hitler would have kept doing what he was doing. They did lose a ton of soldiers, but I do think it was worth fighting for.

I learned a lot about d-day from just a few videos. I learned that they had to carry 100 pounds of equipment like 2 ammo crates that are 20 pounds each, and then their whole assault jacket that's about 60 pounds. If I were in war, I would be falling over the whole time because I can NOT carry 100 pounds. The videos said that the Natzi's sprayed their guns at the front of the ships so when the doors flipped down, they would almost 15 people at once. The one's that would make it out alive would either die in battle, or die from drowning in the water, due to their heavy equipment.

In my opinion, D-day was 100 percent worth the fight. Even though it meant so many Allied soldiers dead, or injured, it's still better than the 6 million that died under Hitler's law. And all the people who died during the Omaha beach battle, died knowing they were doing the right thing.
Also if the Allied forces didn't choose to go into battle that day, who knows, the war could have gone on ages longer. Hitler's "Atlantic Wall" lined with 70,000 soldiers, pretty much shows that he is scared. As soon as they started to lose, he built this wall knowing things weren't going his direction. So, the Allied force did this at the perfect time to show him that they are stronger and he is doing the wrong thing. I have just looked it up, and roughly 75 million people died throughout the entire war, and the over 6 million the Hitler killed deserved there their justice, which they had received on June 6th, 1944.

D - Day was a very important day in the history of the world. It represents the fact that the Allies had won the war, despite how many losses occurred. I truly believe that it was worth the fight, especially after everything I now know about what the Germans did to the Jews and everyone else caught up in the days of death. D - Day occurred on June 6th 1944, Normandy, France. Both sides of the war lost many. I am positive that if I were fighting alongside those soldiers, I would have been so scared, but I hope that I would put my life on the line for that war. Germany was doing so many bad things to everyone different than him, which would have been everyone he could get his hands on if the Allies didn't fight back, luckily they did. It is so sad to think about how many brave souls we lost on that day, and every other day that even more brave souls put their life of the line to stop the war. It is nice to know that so many people cared about everyone in this country no matter what. Though a lot of people are like Hitlor and only like people like themselves. In the end, I hope everyone truly thanks every single soul who helped in any way. Right now, I am wondering if we still celebrate V-E Day? I think it deserves to be celebrated for it was Victory in Europe! Sadly the war didn’t end there.

If i was soldier i would be think oh my i am problem going to died and there would be all these possibilities going through my head . I don't think could ever have the courage to do that. so many people died and am realizing that one day my brother and dad were watching a movie on world war II and i remember seeing a little of it and being so so so so scared of the movie but i do think that made them surrender and that made a dig difference.

On June 5 1944 it was declared that they were going to battle on the Normandy beaches. It was known as D-Day, D-day was historic because it was the day that ended World War 2 and those who were in the fight knew it would be a good deed for our nation. If the soldier was scared I would be too. If I was to predict when the Allied powers were starting to win Hitler knew that he was going to lose and he would get criticized so he killed himself.

I don't have the slightest hint of how soldiers felt when they were being sent to Normandy. All I can say is that they were probably scared to their bones. Some probably thought they would live through this but a lot of them ended up dead. To some people D-Day wasn't worth fighting for but I thought it was. Because the Allies had already done so much to help and why should they stop there! You should finish what some things that you started because if you don't they could cause problems. So they fought and when Hitler saw that his forces were losing he committed suicide, he was to scared o live up to his defeat. Some people thought the war would be over after that but Japan still wanted to fight which caused more troubles , it could've been avoided but it wasn't.
