although the importance and significance of tradition has diminshed over time, it is still largely important for people in my society to retain a sense of tradition.

Although some people may disregard the importance for a sense of tradition  in our modern life, I strongly believe that it is important for people in my society to retain a sense of tradition.

Topic 1: tradition contributes a sense of safety and security to people. Tradition is something that is always done, it is familiar to people, which provides a sense of comfort. 
Topic 2: With a sense of tradition, it can provide social cohesion in society. People feel a sense of belonging to a group of people who experience the same things. 
Topic 3: Thirdly, tradition reinforces values.
