I find that joining University was the best decision that I made in 2024.

This is because previously, whilst taking a gap year, I had no sense of routine and therefore was not using my time wisely at all. Another reason would be that I have been able to make new friends here at THUAS. During my gap year all of my friends went off to university and therefore I had very few people to spend time with, whereas now I have more. One final reason being that I am now learning a lot of meaningful things about the business world that I think can be very useful for my future. “The University has become a place that prepares you for the fights in the real world” - Henri Nouwen. This certainly rings true to my experience and would to yours as well.

My best decision was to delete all social media.

It helped me to improve my attention span.

By improving my attention span I can do a lot more work, and also invest time in myself not in some stupid videos on Tiktok.

The best decision that I made in 2024 is to be an exchange student. Through this semester, I got the chance to visit a lot of art museums in Europe and meet new people from different cultural background. Though I only got half a year being here, the limited time makes me learn that I should cherish every moment I have and make the best use of them. From this experience, l learn that a small step could make a difference. For the coming 2025, I believe if I stay as courageous as I was, 2025 could also be special.

Since, I have acquired a lot of knowledge that will be beneficial for my life, not only academically, but also socially. I highly cherish the opportunity to have this experience, and realised it has changed me to be stronger and more independent. Overall, I believe this was the best decision for the sake of my future.

The Vampire Diaries was the best TV I watched in 2024. TVD has been a crowd favorite since it aired, but my interest was never sparked due to its genre. In the middle of the year, I had a change of heart and decided to give the show a chance. As I began watching it, I found all the reasons given by people as to why this was the best TV show. In my perspective, TVD was able to capture my emotions and become embedded in my thoughts. It challenged me to think outside of the box , while giving me the hint of fun. TVD showed me that I could step out of my comfort zone, even with something as silly as a TV show.

The best decision I have made in 2024 is going to therapy.

Going to therapy has helped me in more ways than I can describe. It has helped me to better understand myself and my behaviors, it has helped me to understand the people around me and how to deal with their behaviors, and it has guided me to improve my life by taking little steps towards my goals. I think therapy is beneficial for everyone, even if you are not facing direct difficulties.

Reading the book 48 Laws of Power was the best decision i made this year.

Reading this book by Robert Greene was the best decision i made this year since it gave me valuable insight into human behavior and dynamics of power. This book taught me how to navigate complex relationships both personally and professionally by understanding influence and strategy. It includes lessons on self-awareness to help me recognize situations and realize when to assert myself and when to step back.

I find that putting these insights into practice in my daily life has helped me grow and learn new things. Overall it has empowered me to make smart decisions and approach challenges with confidence and clarity.

It has improved my ability towards organization and adapting to change, it has also made me relize that if I want something I need to go and get it instead of waiting around for some milagrous thing to happen, and with this realization I have also developed the desire of improvement. Overall, it has given me personal growth.

This decision has benefitted me in many ways. Firstly, because I live on my own, I have become a lot more independent as I am more able and a bigger responsibility to make my own decisions and fend for myself. This has helped me grow as a person in a way staying back home could never have done. Another big way moving to a different country has helped is that I have made great new friends that I have made and will make new memories with, who also make living alone a lot less lonely. As for my education, coming here has really challenged me to be more disciplined when it comes to studying, because university is very different from high school, which has pushed me to adapt to the new subjects and new methods of teaching and studying. In conclusion, this new chapter of my life living alone has made me grow as a person, more than I had ever expected.
