How do we assess the communication?

Final product: Present final traditional or digital art together with the music.

Shared journal: Collection of artifacts - notes, research, where they would host it

Can enhance students’ emotional vocabulary - translate, for example, the colour for a student

Can explore iCloud collaboration - where students can collaborate together and the teachers can also view the students’ works

An alternative to traditional medium could be the use of Augmented Reality (AR) with apps such as AR Makr or Reality Composer or even Just A Line (can edit on Clips), where students can explore art, sound, and its relation to the physical space. For example, you can bring the zoo into your schools’ halls.

Objective: Create a cover of a song and perform to the class

There will be mixed abilities of students - students who have learned musical instruments outside or on their own

Personalisation learning = task variation; will provide equitable access

Teacher will act as a facilitator

Some students may not be comfortable in performing live: Use iMovie to have the best take of the performance.

Garage Band: Visualise how sound-mixing is done. Infuse and expose the students to the IT elements of their music

Allow students to perform with iPad band - a band of iPads. 12-channel mixing desks. Students can play on the iPad regardless whether they can play the instrument in real life.

Michael: Recorded himself playing instruments and used loops on Garage Band - would be exciting to allow students to explore this

Rihanna’s “Umbrella” was created entirely on Garage Band.

Everyone Can Create series: Collection of booklets that include how to explore Music, Video, Photos and Drawing - the various tools and activities. There is also a Teachers’ Guide that shares tips on how to incorporate these into the classroom.

Use the Camera or Clips to observe their space and find letters hidden within the items in their surrounding. Students can use filters and put in their visual journal. Can use the tools, like Notes or Pages, to make the letter more prominent.

Give the students the liberty to portray the letters the way they want - whether it is a still image or a moving image. When the students compile more photos, they can transform their still images into a GIF. If they use their Keynote as a canvas, they can explore animations

Could also identify architecture in the shape of a letter - design their own building or urban landscape in the form of an alphabet Can also create letterings that can be made into fonts.
