a)I would feel extremely overwhelmed if I was as famous as those singers. Knowing that I have to keep up a perfect image on stage and not make any mistakes will definitely worry me even before being on the actual stage. Idols are seen as a flawless character that people look up to. If I were to make a mistake on stage, I would feel embarrassed, knowing that I have let down my fans.
b)Being popular at an early age brings a lot of disadvantages. For example, you will be crowded by a large number of people when spotted. There will also be people that dislike you, as they are jealous of your success. This can lead to many rumours spreading in order to bring you down. If you were to make a mistake early on in your career, your reputation will decline and people will continue to talk about you even years after. Keeping up your image is also exhausting. Tackling schoolwork with your popularity is a very difficult task and not many people will be able to manage it.
c)I agree to a large extent. People with a large following fanbase should be a good role model to their fans. Because fans look up to their idols, they are more likely to be influenced by their idol’s actions. As for me, I have seen many trends start because of idols. There are many dances that start circulating online because a celebrity performed it. Hence, it is definitely important for a celebrity to be a good role model.

1(a) I would feel extremely uncomfortable if i was as famous as the singers in the picture. I am a natrually reticent person and hate the idea of human interaction. Hence, I would rather have a set of people that I am close to such as my friends and family. When I am famous, the spotlight would always be fixated on me and anything and everything I do would be uploaded and circulated on the internet. For example, when I am in the taxi paparazzi may choose to come and take pictures of me without consent invading my privacy. Hence, I would feel extremely uncomfortable if I was as famous as the singers in the picture

1(b) When becoming famous at a young age, people may not know their boundaries due to their high income that they earn . When people are famous, they would have a talent or skill that would attribute towards their fame. This would in turn bring about many sponsorships and they can earn a princely sum of money. They may then not know their boundaries and engage in illegal or dangerous activities that would land themselves in hot soup. For example, former Manchester United footballer was a future star of the game and was destined to engrave his name as one of the best footballers in history. However, things took an unfortunate turn for the worst when his ex girlfriend had posted pictures of her being assaulted by the football prodigy. There were gruesome bruises on her neck and waist resulting in the police having to investigate. Greenwood's sponsorship to Nike and contract with Manchester United was effectively terminated which shows that when becoming famous resulting in a lot of money being earned, young people may not understand the value of respect and hurt themselves and their loved ones

(c) I agree to a large extent that celebrities have a duty to act as role models for their fans. As a celebrity, the spotlight will always be on that particular celebrity. Consequently, whatever the celebrity does can easily be circulated among everyone due to the invention of technology making communication easier. Celebrities should act as responsible role models so that they can influence their fan base to do what is right since they perceive their celebrities as demigods. For example, liverpool football player Mohamed Salah, has had a salutary impact on the people of egypt. Although he earns heaps of money which he could keep for himself, he chose to help his home country by paying an Egyptian child’s medical fees, a school for girls, a sewage treatment plant, a medical centre and an ambulance station in his hometown, while also paying for the construction of an all-weather football pitch at a school where he once studied and donating tonnes of food to his hometown during the pandemic. All of this has led to the egyptians admiring him and wanting to do good for society

Clip 6
(a) I would feel very happy that I am able to make others happy when they watch me perform. In the video, I see how they dance together as a team and I know that many people watch their dances everyday. If I were as famous, I would set up concerts for spectators to have fun while watching the live experience.
(b) It may be very stressful to keep up to everyone's expectations. I am sure these singers in the video may have felt that at some points as they have to dance and sing for the audience all the time. It may also be very tiring to perfect all the dance moves, like those shown in the video. When you are young, you should be free to do what you want instead of overworking yourself.
It can also be very tiring as all the group members will have to be willing to participate in the dance.
(c) I agree to a large extent. Celebrities have a large number of fans that will follow anything they do. If they were to do something wrong, their fans would also follow suit or be disappointed. If they were to do the right things, their fans will also learn how to do right.

a) If I was as famous as the singers in the video, I would feel insecure about myself. I would feel this way as I am aware that many people are watching me and I would pick out small things about myself as insecurities which I normally would not do.
b) There are many disadvantages being famous as this age. Firstly, being famous at this age would mean that you cannot express yourself freely. This is because you are seen by many people and would have to live up to the image people want to see. Secondly, when you are famous at a young age, you will gain a lot of fans. However, that will also mean that you will gain more haters, and at a young age, they might not be able to handle it. Thirdly, people at a young age will get taken advantage of easily, and many of their fans might try to take advantage of them. Lastly, even though people of young age are famous, they would still have to go through education and might not be able to handle the pressure from it.
c) I agree that celebrities should be good role models for their fans. Firstly, if the celebrities act irresponsibly the fans might be influenced by their actions and do the same thing. Secondly, the celebrities have a many fans that would believe what they say without even looking for proof. This will mean that celebrities should watch what they say before they say wrong things and many people start to believe it.

(a) I would feel anxious as their level of fame is so high to the point that they have stalkers and hardcore fans that would do anything to meet them. Having that constant threat of someone spying on you or invading your privacy would make me feel anxious.

I would also feel burdened. This is because with that level of fame, I feel that I would have a big influence on people, and with that platform, I would have a big responsibility on my shoulders to ensure that I am influencing people to do the right thing.

(b) One of the possible disadvantages would be getting sexualised at a young age. This is because in the entertainment industry, there is a possibility that some viewers may sexualise them even though they know those famous people are underage. For example, many child actors get offered roles with some sort of sexual nature even though they are minors, such as Megan Fox.

Another possible disadvantage is developing mental illnesses. This is a common occurance with child actors as they are under tremendous levels of stress constantly due to the pressure of being watched at all times either by paparazzi or by intense fans. For example, Demi Lovato started abusing drugs after becoming famous at a young age due to their work at Disney. Hence, a disadvantage is that they may develop mental illnesses.

(c) I agree with this statement as these celebrities have a large platform and they should realise that they have influence on a large amount of people. Their actions would be able to influence the actions of many other people and they hold the responsibility to ensure that they influence people to do the right thing. For example, in 2020 when the presidential election was going on in the USA, many celebrities took advantage of their platforms to ensure that people voted. This shows that celebrities have a duty to act as role models hence, I agree with this statement.

I also disagree with the statement. This is because I feel that the celebrities are not responsible for the actions of others. What their fans do in their free time is none of the celebrities' business, and it is not their job to ensure that their fans do the right thing.

(a) i would feel delighted because i have many fans that are admiring me. with many people idolising and looking up to and liking you , i would feel delighted. i also would feel happy as im successful. i am able to accomplish something that has always been my dream.

(b)they might not be able to adjust to life after their famous stage. as trend keeps moving so does stand in music hence the music group will become obsolete and they will lose their popularity eventually. being used to be the centre of attention, they might find it hard to re adjust to normal life when they are not really famous and not many people treat them as idol.

another disadvantage is that it might be hard to get a job after their group is no longer famous. with fresh graduate age being spent as an idol, they dont have working experience at all which makes them less marketable in terms of job seeking. hence they might not be able to find a workplace that can accept them increasing the likelihood of being jobless.

in addition, they are not able to enjoy their youth fully. being famous means that your daily life will always be monitored by paparazzi. hence they are not able to do whatever they would like such as having a girlfriend or boyfriend or do some inappropriate things as it will result in their popularity dropping and decreases their income or make their fans angry.

lastly it might mean not having many friends. all their time is spent on working and getting even more famous while maintaining their good image. they dont have time to be spent on socialising and making new friends or bonding with friends. this results in them having little amount of close friends outside of work.

(c)i agree to a large extent that celebrities have to shoulder the responsibility of being a responsible role model for their fans. they are being looked up to by their fans and their fans might follow the behaviour of their idols.so to prevent unwanted behaviour from their fans, the idol must be a responsible role model that can be followed as an example.

some people might say that they dont have a duty to be a responsible role model because its their own life and they have the freedom to do whatever they like. the fans should not be a limitation for do's and dont's of the famous person as it is their life.another reason is that the fans should know better about good and bad behaviour and which should be imitated. the fans have logic and the capacity to know which of the actions taken is alright to replicate and which to not. they can sift the good and bad for themselves without their idols help.

Clip 7
(a) I think it would be very useful as I would be able to travel from place to place without waiting a long time for the bus. It is also a good form of exercise for me which can increase my stamina. The bicycle in the video also looks very durable and can be used for a long time.
(b) Using overhead bridges as they do not have any chance of a car accident compared to normal road crossing. Underground bridges can also be built as well with the same effect. Speed limit signs can also be put in place to avoid any speeding of cars. When cars are moving at a slower speed, pedestrians will be able to react in time and jump out of the way. Children can also be taught from a young age how to cross roads by themselves instead of always holding their parent's hand and think they are safe.
(c) I agree to a large extent. People who deliberately want to cause harm to others should receive severe punishment, even if they are getting 'revenge'. This is because the person's family members will be affected. However, those who accidentally do so should receive a much smaller punishment as they did not mean harm to the person. However, they should still receive a small punishment for being careless on the road.

(a) I would feel proud of myself as I’m being watched by so many people, influencing them through the work I’ve presented on the internet. I would also feel lonely and insecure, like a sense of being watched. As a celebrity, I must present myself at best to my fans, and this results in pressure and upset if I fail to do so. I have to face the judgement from those in the past that supports me, if I have done something wrong.

(b) In my opinion, one major disadvantage of becoming famous at an early age would be depression. This is because children at this young age are not mentally ready to deal with the burdens of being famous. This may expose them to the risk of being more introverted to avoid such difficulties. In addition, Children with early fame are not mature enough to take responsibility for their actions that most children would imitate. This would lead to serious health concerns for younger generations despite any parental control.

Children also do not have the experience and strength to deal with difficulties they face. Like what I have mentioned earlier, celebrities often have to deal with their mental health issues. Children at a young age wouldn’t know how to deal with such problems, and they would have to consult those who are more experienced. Some were not so lucky to have someone helping them to overcome their fear of being a celebrity.

(c) I agree to a large extent that celebrities have a duty to act as responsible role models for their fans. This is because celebrities have a larger fan base, with supporters from different continents. This means that they have a greater influence and it is their responsibility to influence their supporters to do the right thing in society. For example, during the pandemic, a lot of celebrities donate money and necessities to the needy, and make use of their fame to encourage people to wear their mask, to maintain social distancing etc.

A) if I was as famous as the singers in the video, I would feel joyful yet anxious as and I managed to overcome barriers and become successful in my career and do well enough to make myself and those around me proud. However, I would also feel anxious as there is a heavy weightage placed on me with many responsibilities that I am suppose to uphold, and any little mistake I make can affect the bigger picture detrimentally.
B)some disadvantages of becoming famous at a young age are not having a regular childhood that others are having. For example, a child actor would have to be present on set while filming their role for a show, memorising and reciting their lines, portraying their roles and during their breaks they will have private schooling with a tutor. While a regular child would go to school, learn their syllabus and play outdoors with family and friends. When you are famous at a young age, you would be casted for more roles or go for more practices and trainings, thus spending less time on school. Another disadvantage of being famous at a young age is being pressured at a young age to play their roles well to keep up with their growing fame and expectations of the public and the media as people generally expect more from someone after doing something well, to blow them away and impress others generally. This causes a large amount of stress on a child causing mental problems later on in their lives. Another disadvantage of being famous at a young age is the lack of privacy. When you are famous, people would recognise you wherever you go, and would share where and what you do with others, this is especially accelerated by the media, to trigger multiple reactions by the public, no matter what you have done, good or bad. Lastly, a disadvantage is that your career pathway would already be directed for you, as you would be pressured into continueing what you are doing until you are an adult, when you are famous, most of the time, It means that you are exceptionally talented at what you did,and will therefore get casted in more roles and lesser chances to pursue anything else apart from the area of talent.
C) I agree that celebrities have to be a good role models to their fans to a certain extent. As celebrities can influence their fan desisions both positively and negatively. Celebrities can also do a good cause and shed light to their fans to these causes, and encourage them to do the same, spreading kindness and generosity to more people. For example when a celebrity donates money to a food bank or charity, it would catch the media's attention and the new would spread and encourage the public to do the same.
However, I also think that celebrities should be able to lead the lives they want without being judged by the public, even if they are not good role models as the pressure to upkeep a rightous lifestyle is high and unreasonable if regular people get to do what they want while celebrities cannot.

A) I will feel restricted because as far as I know artists like the ones in the video are restricted from lots of things. I personally hate being controlled therefore I will feel restricted .

.b) can’t focus on studies. One has to practise for most of the day in order to sharpen their skills. For example one may have to sing or dance for 10 hours straight and therefore they will not have time and concentration on studies.

Variables in future. However , most of the famous youngsters choose to drop out of school to pursue their carrier, but ended up going nowhere because they haven’t completed their basic education.

.c) I agree. They are role models so naturally their friends find them attractive and appreciate them, so most of them will think that what the role models do are correct, which may not be true. For example if the role model posts a photo about him smoking anywhere, then some of the fans will think that it is ok to smoke anywhere hence doing it as well.

1a) I think that it is very useful to have a bicycle check as it ensures my safety. I am a firm believer that safety is the number one priority and the bicycle can have mechanical failiures or problem which can be a looming threat to my safety. For instance, a suspension failiure on my bicycle can result in me being unable to steer the bicycle well so it would be harder for me to navigate around. Moreover, should there be a break failiure with my bicycle I may crash into something or someone which is very dangerous

1b) The roads can be made safe by deploying more traffic police officers to conduct patrol checks at night. At night, the roads are usually deserted as most people would be sleeping so some irresponsible drivers may use this as an opportunity to speed dangerously along the highway or engage in illegal underground racing. They can pose a danger to themselves should they lose traction and crash the car and pose a danger to others should they be unaware of their surroundings and collide with someone. By having more police officers deployed at night, it would serve as a reminder that people who choose to engage in such activities would be dealt with justly ensuring the safety of roads.

1c) I agree that people who cause a danger on the road should be severely dealt with. The road is a common area with pedestrians and drivers using it for daily commute. When people decide to be irresponsible and drive dangerously, it would not only pose a danger to themselves but the innocent civilians around him that do not deserve to have their lives at risk. When innocent civilians tragically lose their lives to such an unjust act, it would cause mental and emotional trauma to their loved ones which is completely uncalled for. Hence, a severe punishment should be imposed on people who choose to drive recklessly as they are an imminent danger to themselves and those around them

1) I would feel stressed out if I was as famous as the singers in the picture. This is because I would have to keep up to my fans expectations of me and what they would want me to produce while also simultaneously managing my manager's expectations of me which I feel like would be extremely stressful. Furthermore, I feel like I would be paranoid as I would have to watch what I say and how I act in public even more.

(a) I would feel pressured as I might not be able to meet my fans' high expectations for me. I would also feel insecure due to that as I have to maintain my public image, make sure to maintain my body figure and skincare routine. I would also feel overworked as being famous means having more work to do so I might have to work late hours into the night which gives me less time to relax and sleep. My sleep schedule might get worse and I might feel more tired during work, causing me to be underperform during work and disappoint my fans.

(b) One possible disadvantages of becoming famous at an early age is not being able to enjoy my youth. I would have no time to hangout with my friends due to being too busy with work and I might not be able to go to school everyday due to work which might cause me to be less close to my friends. I would also be unable to fit in with my peers as they might think that there is a large difference between us due to the fact that I am famous. I would not be able to enjoy my school life due to not attending important school events that most of my peers look forward to as they can strengthen their bonds with each other, making me feel isolated from them.

One other disadvantage of becoming famous at an early age is having a lot of high expectations from people. if I were to make a mistake or not meet their expectations, they might be disappointed in me and may start to write negative comments about me. My mental health may become worse as I might not be able to handle the pressure and the negative comments by people online.

(c) I agree to a large extent that celebrities have a duty to act as responsible role models to fans as they may be influenced by their actions. The actions of celebrities may greatly impact their fans' as they respect them and want to become like their idols. So, if a celebrity has poor behaviour, their fans may also learn from them and start to behave like them. Hence, celebrities have a duty to act as responsible role models to fans as their fans may adopt their bad habits.

However, I disagree that celebrities have a duty to act as responsible role models to fans as their fans should be able to identify what and what not to learn from their idols.

This is because it would ensure that my bicycle is safe to ride on, and it would minimise the risk of me crashing or getting into an accident.

(b) One way we could make the road safer is to establish a speed limit on expressways. This way, we can reduce the number of cars that are speeding on the roads, so that even if there is a collision, people will not get as injured. Another way to make the roads safer is to add security cameras, so that should there be an incident of a hit and run, the perpetrator can be identified and caught. Furthermore, it would make drivers drive better and more carefully out of fear of getting fined.

(c) I agree with this statement as they should get consequences for their actions. Furthermore, there are some cases where people get severely injured due to reckless driving, hence these people deserve severe punishment to ensure that it does not happen again, and to ensure that other people are aware of the consequences and not make the same mistake as him.

I disagree with this statement as we should give people the benefit of the doubt.

I would feel a sense of accomplishment as at a young age I've always wanted to be rich and accomplish something good in life and when I'm as famous as these people i would get plenty of sponsorships and through platforms like YouTube or from live performances I can make tons of money 💸💰

B) there are disadvantages such as not being humble as at a young age you would want to boast about the status u have and it may lead to growing haters Which could lead to downhill in self esteem and confidence
Another disadvantage is that there are other cunning people who may want cheat off famous young people by offering money which could look 'handsome' for younger people but may not be the actual amount equal to their net worth and younger people may choose to take the contract on impulse as it does seem like a lot of money for the younger people

C)I agree to a large extent. celebrities may have have huge fan bases who follow what their role models do. Even though celebrities are normal human beings like us who also want to live a normal but more extravagant Life. However, decisions that celebrities make in public influence the choices that their fans choose such as the incident where Ronaldo was at an interview and when he pushed off the coke bottle to the side as he didn't like it, the next day Coke's shares dropped as Ronaldo's fans also chose not to consume coke. Celebs Also have fans who are of young age. For example in the incident where Will Smith slapped Chris rock , younger fans if Will may think that it is normal to slap people or behave violently if someone shares a opposite opinion from them which could lead them to encountering huge probs in the future. Therefore since celebs play a role in the decision of their fans , I think celebs have a duty to act as responsible role models to their fans which can help foster the responsibility among their fans .

a) I would feel overjoyed and over the moon. I can identify that the people in the video are a group of famous Korean pop music singers. These group of singers are famous in almost every part of the world. Hence, I know that they have hundreds and thousands of fans everywhere. If I were in their shoes, I’d know that I have a countless number of supporters. This would leave me overjoyed as I know that someone will always have my back through thick and thin. Just like these singers, I am reminded of a time where i gained recognition after winning a story telling competition as a school representative. Although I received multiple comments on how I didn’t deserve winning, my friends at school still supported me.

(a) Having to sacrifice certain things is also a disadvantage to being famous at an early age. As one may have just began their journey in life, they will definitely have certain commitments that keeps them occupied. Being famous will add on to these pile of commitments and managing it may not be the easiest task. These commitments can come in the form of school or hobbies. When one has too much on their plate, it is only natural for them to let go of certain things. This reminds me of a time where I had to quit taekwondo in order to prepare for my National exams in primary 6. While school and taekwondo were both my priority, school is not something I could get rid of easily as it will leave in impact on my future. Thus, similar to being famous, one will have to sacrifice certain things as they cannot stop being famous in the blink of an eye.

(c) i agree that celebrities do have a duty to act as responsible role models especially for their fans. As a public figure, it is essential for celebrities to set good examples for their supporters. Moving into a more digital world, celebrities often share their lives with the world through the use of social media. Hence, with the increase in the number of teenagers having access to social media, these celebrities should always set good examples for them and do the right thing. Bonnie wright, an actor, known for her acting in the Harry potters movies. When I came across her Instagram account one day, I realised that she has been encouraged her supporters to be more mindful in the way they use plastic. I am sure that many have been influenced by her and are working on reducing their usage of disposable plastic that leaves harmful impacts on the environment. In fact, I too am working on reducing plastic usage because of her. Hence, this shows how much celebrities influence their fans.

However, others may disagree with me. While celebrities are major influencers, they are also regular human beings. Just like me, celebrities deserve to live life they wish. I am sure that having to watch every single move they make is not an easy job and I do not think anyone should have to do that for the sake of people they don’t even know of. These people include their fans. Personally, I don’t like being told to act a certain way in front of a certain group of people. I think that this defeats the purpose of being famous as they will not be famous for who they truly are.

Overall, I think that it is important for celebrities to act as responsible role models for their fans. However, they shouldn’t be judged if they choose not to do so.

(a) I would feel very accomplished as I have such a huge support base with sincere fans. I would also feel very touched to have such committed supporters. Being that well-known due to my own and my team’s hard work and effort is certainly something to be proud of. Not only would I be known for my own talent such as singing, but also due to other feats or stories that may come up around me.

(b) Some possible disadvantages of becoming famous at an early age includes becoming in over your head and facing external legal complications such as hardcore fans stalking or creating other problems. Being well-known by the world would certainly fill our ego, and should it fill too much, we may become arrogant. This would result in our original character and values being compromised, forgetting our own roots. As for legal complications, die hard fans may resort to extreme measures to meet with the young celebrity, which may result in harm or other damages. One more disadvantage would be the constant surveillance of the media. You would be always under watch and under fire should one commit an action that does not sit well with the public which may endanger the young celebrity’s safety. This would also result in their reputation becoming tarnished and affecting relationships with friends and family.

(c) I agree with the statement as celebrities are the ones who will have the spotlight shone on them. With the world’s eyes watching, all people of all ages would be watching your every move, attitude and behaviour. Some people may also look up to celebrities and would want to emulate their values. This would definitely affect how they lead their lives and how they act in society, with any adverse effects becoming worse should they be from a youngster. However, I also disagree with the statement as celebrities are their own person and have their own flaws. They may be well known for their own talents, but in the end they are all just human beings that attract most people’s attention. Hence, it would be unreasonable to expect celebrities to be perfect and responsible role models for their fans and other people. They would definitely make mistakes here and there, with some unfortunate circumstances arising such as the allegations against world renowned actor, Johnny Depp.

(a) I think it is very useful to have a bicycle like the one displayed in the video as this check would be crucial for a safe ride. The checks focus on each part of the bike, ensuring each segment works just fine and that they are not intersecting with each other that may cause malfunctions. Without such checks, should the bicycle be faulty, this could result in catastrophic accidents, especially if cyclists are near the road. These checks prevent such misfortunes to occur, guaranteeing our safety and enjoyment while riding.

(a) I believe roads can be equipped with barriers that activate at traffic lights to stop vehicles. In this day and age, most drivers are very impatient and may ignore amber lights which signal that drivers should be ready to stop their vehicles. They take this signal as a sign to step on the pedal and quickly drive across the road. Should the traffic junction have pedestrians crossing, this would result in deaths and injuries. With a physical barrier that can be seen, this would protect both the drivers and pedestrians, preventing such lethal accidents from occurring. One other way roads can be made safer is by installing more rumble strips. Drivers these days tend to be distracted and may drive on autopilot mentally, causing them to lose focus on the road. Rumble strips would make these drivers alert and attentive again with an audible ‘rumbling’ and vibration of the car when driving over the strips, especially when approaching busy traffic junctions. With more alert and attentive drivers, lesser accidents would occur as they would brake caution when driving and pay attention to all details of the road.

(c) I agree with the statement. Those who cause danger on the roads will most definitely cause unnecessary and avoidable accidents. Because of these few people, others could be injured, or worse even die due to their mistakes. They chose to do whatever they want to, putting the lives of others on the road in danger. Hence, it would only be logical that they were the ones who indirectly caused the death or injury of others should any accident occur. To avert future mishaps, they would need a firm and severe consequence to ensure they would not repeat the same actions which would result in more deaths and injuries. However, I disagree with the statement as people tend to make mistakes and may not realise the danger of the actions they are committing on the road. As such, I do believe that they do deserve a second chance as long as they learn from their mistakes and strive to avoid such errors. Additionally, it is also the responsibility of all users of the road to ensure that they are complying with the rules and regulations. Should one refuse to do so, other users should help to point out their mistakes and amend them accordingly.

(a) I would not enjoy playing such an instrument as I am not proficient with the guitar. I play the ukulele, a smaller version of the guitar, with lesser chords. I find the guitar to be very complicated, with multiple chords and different positions of the capo that can be placed on the strings of the guitar, affecting how it sounds. Compared to the ukulele, the ukulele is a much easier option and faster to learn as it only has four strings.

(b) Young people can introduce elderly-friendly activities such as playing an instrument, or picking up calligraphy. The youth can help to teach these skills to the elderly. Not only will the elderly learn a new skill, but they might actually be fully interested in the activity, leading them to pursue their interests further. With the youth and elderly interacting together, the youth can take in their experience while the elderly will have someone to talk to and share their vast knowledge with.

(c) I agree that an ageing population is a major problem that Singapore is facing as there has been a sharp increase of elderly in Singapore. The percentage of elderly in Singapore in 2010 was about 9%, but that figure rose by about 6.2% to become 15.2% 12 years later now, in 2022. With nearly 3/20 of the population being the elderly, Singapore requires new schemes, programmes and even perhaps homes for the elderly as thousands more age and join this category. With lesser younger and more active adults, the workforce may face a potential drop in white collar workers. This could affect the economy and perhaps even worsen it as the government will have to spend further in order to care for its ageing population. However, I also disagree with the statement. One of the other major problems that Singapore faces is global competition. In this day and age, most of the world's nations are highly-technologically capable, pressuring small countries like Singapore to keep up with these nations to remain in league with others. This forces the government to spend more money in developing or maintaining the economy, when it can be used for other sectors such as healthcare, education and housing. With increased competition as well, the government would want more funds it can acquire, resulting in taxes being increased as well such as that of the Goods and Services Tax, increasing from 7% to 8%, and then from 8% to 9%. This costs the population to have lesser purchasing power, which can lead to a decrease in the quality of living. Hence, with competition, Singapore's population takes the hit and this competition becomes a major issue that Singapore faces.

(a) It is very useful for me to have a bicycle check on my bike before I ride. Often I would cycle around Singapore using the Park Connector Lane. There was once where I forgot to check on my bike and halfway through the journey, the bike broke down and I had to walk back. This teaches me a lesson and I will check my bicycle every time before I cycle. It is a safety precaution for me, to be responsible for our own safety.

(b) First, we can impose speed limits on roads. This would reduce the number of vehicles speeding, which brings down the number of accidents occurring. More road signs should be established on the road to provide a clearer instruction for drivers. I believe most drivers would abide by the rules as they wouldn’t want themselves to get injured as well if any road accident happens. Stricter fines and decade renewal license tests should also be summed up in law.

(c) I agree with the statement. Drivers who cause danger on the road, not just injure themselves but also threaten the lives of innocent people. These reckless drivers are responsible for the mistakes that they have made on the victims who were paralyse and even killed. They must pay for the price. Accidents are avoidable, as long as everyone plays a part by obeying the traffic rules.

However I disagree with the statement as drivers are also human, and humans also make mistakes. Some may not reflect on their actions and still make the same mistakes again. Thus punishment is necessary, but it must be reasonable and effective punishment so as to decrease the amount of drivers making the same mistakes again.

Due to the fact that you are very young some people may not be able to handle the stress that comes with being famous as you are constantly under the watchful eye of the media, resulting in everything you do being brodcasted to many parts of the world. This is because I am quite shy and am not used to being the centre of attention. I would feel extremely stressed from having to continuously keep up a good image to others, causing myself to feel overwhelmed by the work and nervous in front of many people. I would also have to sacrifice many things if I were as famous as the singers in the picture, such as time to myself and my family, or not being able to have much privacy of my own.

(b) Becoming famous at an early age will cause one to feel extremely pressured to keep up a good image. If a celebrity, the person would feel extremely stressed having to keep up with a busy schedule. Being famous at an early age would mean that they would not have much time to themselves, easily being watched by people, especially by paparazzi or people on the internet. One would also have a hard time travelling around places, since they can be easily spotted by others who would recognise them.

(c) I agree to a large extent that celebrities have a duty to act as responsible role models for their fans.

A)I think it will be useful as it will allow for safer bike rides and to ensure these small details are checked. Many times riders overlook these crucial details which lead them to have accidents thus doing these checks ensure that the safety requirements are always met.
B)I think that a way to make roads safer is by expanding the roads size this will give the vehicles more space to maneuver and ensure that the gaps between vehicles are wider to prevent them from crashing.I think another way is to install more cctv cameras to ensure that drivers are always under the watchful eye of the police to prevent them from speeding or driving in an unsafe manner.
c)I agree to a large extent as causing danger on roads is an extremely dangerous action as it involves vehicles moving at fast speeds which can cause serious damage to human life and to public property if not handled in the correct manner. I believe suitable punishment for people who commit these crimes and break these rules should be long periods of jail time as it is a decision they make themselves to break these rules

(a) I think it would be very useful to have a bicycle check like the one in the video. Most accidents caused by bicycles are the result of non-functional brakes. The video has given us a clear description of how we are meant to check our bicycle brakes(if you can pull the brake all the way down, and the braking pads are not touching the tyres, it is working). Bicycles may also topple mainly as a result of weak tyres. If the tyres are old, they could not generate as much friction they did with the ground when they were new, which means it does not have a strong grip onto the ground. This can result in instability a higher likelihood for bicycles to topple. The video shows an accurate desciption for a working tyre, by looking at the tyre tracks. The chains of the bicycle may also fall off, tangling with the tyres, which can result in the tire becoming entangled, and the bicycle toppling. The video shown an accurate description of a rusty and normal-looking chain, which could be solved by oiling it.
(b) Safety is the condition of being protected from or unlikely to cause danger, risk, or injury. Pavement roads could be made safer by widening it. A narrow road could be dangerous for cyclists and jogger alike. If the road is too narrow, the cyclist may have to maneuver their bicycles out of the way, which may result in a collision or accident in which case they fail to do so. Thus, by widening the road, it could become more spacious, and such maneuvers would not have to be performed, which would reduce the rate of incidents and increase the rate of safety.
Roads that are meant for cars could have much more speed limits implemented on sign boards, as car accidents are usually associated with drivers who lost control of their cars as a result of travelling too fast. Thus, the risk of collisions will be lowered as the pedestrian could have much more time to avoid the car, or the driver could have more control of the car to maneuver it out of the pedestrians way.
(c) I agree to a large extent that people who cause danger on the roads should receive servere punishment. Accidents such as collisions are usually caused by irresponsible drivers, who may be drunk while driving. This is a case in Singapore, during the fourth of June during 2022, where a 39 year old man was arrested for drunk driving, after crashing into a group of cyclists. Thus, it was the driver's choice to drink while driving, causing the incident, although they are well aware of the risks. Hence, the need for severe punishments as it is clear that they are not taking the law seriously.
However, people who cause danger on the roads may also be children. They may be too immature to mind the dangers of the road, and if out of their parents' reach, could cause many dangers to the drivers(such as loitering around the roads or walking outside of the path intended for pedestrians) and themselves alike. However, since they are children, they would be pardoned as a result of their immaturity.

(a) I would feel terrified as it would take a lot of work to meet the expectations of my followers, which means there will be an overexcessive amount of questions that would be impossible for me to completely answer. I am an introverted person, and I would not want too much attention, as I prefer to live my life in peace and tranquility. Furthermore, the anticipation of answering questions wherever I am and whenever time it is will be an invasion of my personal space, which could cause me to feel pressured and stressed. Although the feeling of accomplishment is achieved, it is simply outweighed by the other cons of being famous.
(b) There is a high likelihood of depression, as young children do not have the physical and mental capabilities to handle the burdens of being famous. When a person is famous, people would be tracking their every move, which means their privacy would be invaded. Being famous means you have an ego to uphold, and younger people may not have the maturity or experience required to uphold their ego, the slightest mistake made would be observed by millions, and it would spread like wildfire. People around you may start to avoid you, causing you to become much more isolated from society. Even if you did not make the mistake, the pressure is still there, and you will be swarmed by many people. This could cause you to start avoiding people as it is too tedious to interact with everyone you see, which could also take a physical and mental toll on the body.
(c) I disagree that celebrities have a duty to act as responsible role models for their fans. Nobody is perfect, and that is the same case for celebrities. Celebrities are human, and they are bound to make errors. The followers are human, and they have the mental capability to think independently, and define what is right from wrong, while understanding what it means to be human. Thus, followers should be more empathetic towards the celebrities.
I agree as many followers idolise their celebrities, which, if the celebrities decide to act irresponsibly, the fans may want to follow in the celebrities footsteps for his cause, as they believe that celebrities are right, because they idolised him or her. Therefore, if the celebrity acts irresponsibly, it could result in indoctrination and severe devestation by his or her followers, to those who oppose the celebrity's cause.

(a)I would not enjoy playing a musical instrument like the person in the video. The guitar seems large and bulky, seemingly inconvenient to carry about, which I would be too careless to yield, because it may be damaged more easily, given that it is the guitar in the video, made of wood and strings. It is also observed that she was sitting down whenever she plays the guitar, suggesting that you would require much strength to play it, depicting that playing the guitar would be tiring. The guitar is also a complicated instrument, which requires much practice, more so for complex pieces of music, which I would be too lazy to learn and practice.
(b) Schools can conduct VIA(Values In Action) projects for teenage students to interact with the elderly. Students can spend time teaching the elderly how to utilise phones and computers. As the most tech-savvy generation, they should be able to carry out this task easily and to high efficacy. I believe that if the elderly understand how to use phones and keep up with the current technology, they can have access to a lot of information, which will definitely enrich their lives, as they will realise that they get to understand what is going on around the world while also having access to the biggest source of entertainment through the internet.
Teenagers could also play board games with the elderly, for example, their grandparents. This is another way for teenagers to foster a bond with grandparents, greatly improving the quality of their lives as the grandparents would not be lonely, which is what most of the elderly complain about. Teenagers can also exercise with the elderly. The elderly can have a form of motivation to carry on exercising, knowing that they have someone accompanying them. Thus, the elderly can have a much more fulfilling and satisfying life, while staying healthy.
(c) I agree to a large extent that an ageing population is one of the major problems facing modern society. Having an ageing population would mean that taxes will be on the rise. When a population is ageing, there will be a higher priority to take care of the elderly, many of which are sick or retired. Expenditure into healthcare will drastically increase, while we may not have the necessary amount of young workers to generate taxes for the expenditure. Much more money have to be spent on the well-being of the elderly, which includes money for food. When the population is ageing, there will be less money made as a result of higher retirees, and more money spent on the elder retirees. This could result in an economic recession for the country.
For example, in singapore, from 2015 to 2018, there was a 0.06% decline in the birthrate of singapore, while there is a 21.12% rise in the expenditure into healthcare. Moreover, when a country does not have enough locals, it will bring in more foreigners. Singapore experiences this, and if it continues, Singapore may lose its identity, heritage, and culture. When the influx of foreign immigrants is higher than the local birth rate, Singaporeans may lose political standing and be pressured by the larger number of foreigners, especially if most Singaporeans are retired elderly, which will cause Singapore to rely much more on foreigners, which may be open to corruption and a failed economy.

A) I think that it would be very useful to have a bicycle checked as shown in the video as we can check and identify the issue with a broken bicycle and fix it without having to go to a bicycle shop to fix it and also cheaper fix and to maintain the bicycle better in the long term. I would check the tires and the brakes and I think the tires are important to have a fast and efficient ride, while the brakes are a crucial safety measure, as without it you may run into serious accidents like failing to brake at a junction where the traffic lights suddenly turns green.
B) I think roads could be made safer with frequent mantainance and quick response to incidence of pot holes. For example in Singapore, roads are checked throughly with the help of public feedbacks, problems can be solved quickly and the land transport authority promptly respond by doing road works. Roads can also be safer with the public's cooperation to follow the law and not speed or go against traffic as these act endangers both those committing the serious offence and those present at the scene. Roads can also be made safer by expanding some narrow roads to support the movement of buses and larger vehicles. In modern times, vehicles have increasingly grown in size as compared to the past, to suit the needs of families and let them be comfortable. Roads can also be safer if there was a bicycle path linking different parks and towns in Singapore so that cyclist would not cycle on the road as frequently as they are now, making the road safer for all.
C)I agree to a large extent that those who cause danger on the road should face severe punishments. These people can danger other road users by using mobile devices while driving, causing their lack of focus on the road, which may lead to a serious accident like car crash, leading to potential casualties. Those who commit the act should receive serious punishments like being barred from driving a vehicle for 5 years, and a year spent in prison. This is for them to reflect and understand why their action does not comply with the traffic laws so they do not commit the same offence again. Another threat to the road is peaple drink driving. Drink driving is a serious offence as people are not sober and tend to not remember to obey the traffic laws and generally do not have the social awareness to do so. Which is worrying as they are a threat to all forms of lives, pedestrians and other drivers. Drink drivers may also injure and kill themselves and others without knowing what had happened. They should have a serious punishment as they know full well that drinking before driving is a road offence that have been told to them since they learnt how to drive. Even if those injured survives, they may have physical immobility for the rest of their lives and may be traumatised from such incidents.
These victims suffered while the perpetrators may repeatedly commit the same offence if let loose without harsh punishment.

a) I would feel uncomfortable and restricted. As a famous celebrity, one barely has any privacy and freedom. Simple tasks such as leaving your house to grab a meal can quickly become difficult when fans rush to you for attention. Life quickly becomes very inconvenient when the world watches your every move. What is the point of being rich and famous when such money cannot buy you freedom.

b) Gaining fame from a young age has many disadvantages. For example, a child may have their freedom stripped from them. The child will always have to uphold a certain routine of living. Whether it is non stop practice for an upcoming performance, or churning out dozens of videos, the child will miss out on the freedom most children will have.
It will also be stressful. The world watches your every move when you are famous. The pressure of maintaining a near perfect image may be overwhelming especially for a young child.
Being famous can be very demoralising too. You can never satisfy everyone. After hours of hard work and commitment to produce content, one may be left with comments full of negativity.
Socialising may also be difficult. He/ she may also lead a life unfamiliar to most. As such, making friends may become difficult due to such disparity in backgrounds.
All this can make a life of fame as child extremely miserable.

c) I agree with the statement to a large extent. Celebrities influence many from all walks of life and age groups. Some fans admire them to the point their lives reflect the celebrity's work. Children are especially susceptible to this. They are at the age where they are they most easily influenced. Their childhood may even go on to shape the rest of their life. So it is paramount that a celebrity acts responsibly infront of their audiences. They have the power to empower thousands of lives at a time, or ruin them.

a) Having a bicycle check like the one performed in the video will be very useful. Such checks ensure a safer ride. If I were to have such a bike check before every time I cycle out, I will not need to worry about crashing due to my brakes failing to clamp the wheel. They also ensure a smoother trip. This is because when the tyres are pumped and chains are oiled, a bike can travel further with a single revolution of the pedals. This will make cycling less tedious overall. I will definitely check my brakes as they are the most important safety feature on a bike. If they do fail while I am travelling at great speeds, I will definitely be in a lot of danger.

b) In my opinion, all roads should have designated cyclist lanes. This will help to reduce the number of accidents between cyclists and vehicles on the road by increasing the distance between the two. Motorcycles have a history of accidents when overtaking other vehicles by travelling in between lanes. Hence motorcyclists should not be allowed to travel in between lanes when overtaking. Accidents are not always caused by irresponsible driving on the road, it can also be due to faulty equipment. As such, mandatory equipment checks every one or two years should be imposed. Singapore has implemented this, requiring drivers to send their cars for checks every 3 years. However most countries have not.

c) I agree to a large extent. Such people harm everyone around them when on the roads. Their loved ones and those of the victims of the accidents they cause just to name a few. They can completely ruin lives because of their disregard for others, Such irresponsibility should not be taken lightly. One of the most common causes of danger on the roads is when drivers exceed the given speed limit. Whether they are in a rush or simply ignorant, they are a threat. This can be especially dangerous when there is a turn in the road, causing them to swerve or crash if they are unable to slow down in time. Punishments should include hefty fines to pay for the damage they have dealt and jail time for them to re-evaluate their life choices.

The guitar is also a relatively easy instrument to master. As such, I will be able to perfect the rhythms of my favourite songs if I put in the hours. Playing a musical instrument is also a great way to relieve stress. After a long day at school, I will be able to de-stress while creating a piece of art.

b) Young people can enrich the lives of the elderly in many aspects. Young people are known to be filled with energy and ideas. This can be used to encourage the elderly to see from new perspectives in life. Showing them the latest developments in the world and the current political affairs. They can also help the elderly lead an active lifestyle. By taking regular jogs or walks in the park, the youth can definitely instill the habit of staying active in the elderly. Young people can also help upskill the elderly that may be stuck in an era that has passed. By teaching them how to use technology and surf the internet, the elderly will be able to learn one of the most important skills in the twenty-first century.

c) I agree to a certain extent. An ageing population is a problem as it causes the growth of GDP to slow down. Working-age adults will also have to pay more to support the elderly and public budgets will strain under the burden of the higher total cost of health and retirement programs for old people. However, are we overlooking the value of the elderly? They are filled with knowledge after a life of work and most are still highly independent. They can serve as mentors to the young, providing them with valuable advice. The ageing population only becomes a major problem when you see them only as burdens.

Being famous would require me to uphold a good image of myself at all times when in public so that people will continue to support me.

b) Being famous at an early age can hinder one's studies. Being famous would require one to go for additional events besides acting or singing such as interviews and meeting with fans. Hence this would take away time from studying. Being famous at an early age can also cause on to become distrustful when making friends. One would not know if the friends that they are making are genuine or only becoming friends with you for your fame. Being famous at an early age can also cause one to become more insecure about themselves. As a famous person, one might feel that they have to uphold the same beauty standards as other famous individuals. Hence they might scrutinise every part of themselves that they deem ugly, thus becoming more insecure.

C) I agree to a large extent. Celebrities have a large influence on others, especially young children and teenagers. Therefore they have to act responsibly as many young children and teens will follow what celebrities wear and do.

a) I think that it is extremely useful and important to have a bicycle check. Having a bicycle check can ensure one's safety. For example checking the brakes of the bicycle can allow the biker to realise if the brakes are properly installed. Checking the bicycle can also reduce wear and tear. For example, some parts of the bicycle could be misaligned, therfore by checking the bicycle, one can immediately adjust the misaligned part thus reducing wear and tear.

b) Roads can be much safer for cyclist in Singapore with the introduction of cycling lanes. Many accidents have happened involving cyclist and drivers on public roads therefore with cycling lanes, cyclist and drivers would be much safer. Frequent maintain of roads can make roads safer. With many heavy vehicles on roads, wear and tear will occur, creating potholes that can be dangerous for drivers and cyclist. Hence frequent maintaince of roads can reduce accidents when hitting potholes on roads, making roads more safe. Installing more traffic lights and overhead bridges can make roads safer. Pedestrians in countries such and India and Thailand frequently jaywalk as there is a lack of proper road crossings.

c) I agree to a large extent. People who drive recklessly can cause accidents which could cause injury or death to innocent pedestrians or road users. People who drive after drinking can also cause accidents which cause injury or death to innocent pedestrians or road users. People who cause hurt should get jail times as their negligence has impacted many people.

a) I would not enjoy playing the guitar as it is big and bulking making it difficult to carry around when moving it around. I would not enjoy playing the guitar as it has many strings which makes it difficult to play and also requires a lot a time and patience to play it.

b) Young people can carry out VIA projects such as going to old folks homes to visit them. They can teach the elderly how to use technology such as mobile phones and apps. By teaching the elderlies, young people can learn about the past and practice being patient with others. Elderlies get to learn how to use technology which can prevent them from falling for scams.

c) I agree to a large extent. When people get older, health problems increases. Therefore with an aging population, healthcare services have to increase to be able to meet the demand caused by the aging population. An aging population also means that more people are going to retire. Therefore, the workforce might face a decline in the number of employees cause the younger generation to have to work harder to support the economy.

(a) Yes. I have always had an interest in music. Since I was young, I have always loved singing and playing guitar, and I would take up any chance I have to play the guitar and sing again, as it is my way of relaxing and de-stressing.
I would also enjoy playing the instrument as I think it is my escape from this world and allows my brain to detach itself from its problems. Strumming notes on a guitar has also become my form of musical therapy, thus I would enjoy playing this instrument.

(b) Young people can teach the elderly about modern day technology. Young people can hold lessons for the elderly to teach them how to use devices such as the newest handphones or laptops. As a younger person, we know more about technology than the elderly as we grew up around phones and furthermore, we can teach them about cybersecurity and how to avoid scams. This way, we can improve their quality of life.

Young people can organise outdoor activities for the old folks home. This way, the elderly can get a chance to exercise both their bodies and brains. By stimulating their minds more often, this can also help prevent dementia. Hence, young people can organise outdoor activities form the elderly.

Young people can also have cooking classes with the elderly. By engaging in a hands-on activity with the elderly, it gives them a chance to simultaneously exercise their minds while also having fun. This way, we can ensure that the elderly have a chance to exercise their minds as well as continue to enjoy their lives. this can help in making sure that they have a stable mental health.

(b) I would agree to a large extent. This is because this would lead to increased healthcare expenditure. With an ageing population, there is an increased need for healthcare as the elderly are more vulnerable to diseases and illnesses due to their weaker immune system. Thus, this would lead to increased costs for the economy. Thus, an ageing population is a bad thing.

I would also disagree with this statement. This is because this would lead to higher salaries in the working world. An ageing population would lead to an increased amount of capital per worker. Hence, it would boost wages and output per hour worked, reduce interest rates because higher wages lower the return on capital.

(a) I think it would be very useful to have a bicycle check like the one in the video. This would ensure that the bicycle is working properly, preventing any accidents when travelling. For example, ensuring that the brakes are in good condition will help prevent accidents, and that the bicycle will be able to stop moving when necessary. Having a bicycle check would also help to make sure the bicycle will not spoil easily.

(b) Roads can be safer if drivers follow the speed limit and drive at an appropriate speed. This will help prevent the risk of losing control of the car when trying to adapt to changing road conditions, such as on a rainy day. Another way would be to ensure that the car is working well and is in good condition. For example, if the brakes of a vehicle are not working well, it could lead to a fatal accident if the vehicle is unable to stop when the traffic light turns red. Drivers should also follow the traffic rules and maintain lane discipline. Road accidents have occurred when a vehicle drives into another lane without signalling, causing damages to the vehicles and minor or major injuries to the people involved.

(c) I agree to a certain extent. People who cause danger on the roads can create accidents that may cost innocent people their lives. Receiving severe punishment will help to greatly reduce road accidents from occurring again. Drivers who commit the act of hit and run should receive severe punishment. There are also times when it is the pedestrians that cause dangers on the road, such as jaywalking. Pedestrians who cause accidents on the road by doing so are also at fault and should be punished as well. However, sometimes it is only by pure coincidence that accidents happen. For example, perhaps a driver is suddenly having a heart attack and is unable to control the vehicle, thus leading to an accident. In such a case, the driver can be excused from having to receive severe punishment.

a. I think it would be useful to have a bicycle check like the one in the video because it could prevent accidents from happening. Having bicycle checks can allow us to detect any mechanical fault the bicycle has before riding on it. For example, I will always check that the brakes are working properly before taking off on a ride on the bicycle. If the brakes are not working, an accident could occur if I was riding at high speeds and needed to make a sudden stop.

b. One way to make the roads safer is to deploy traffic police to monitor the roads and make sure people are using the roads safely and correctly, not violating any traffic laws. Another way is to install more lamp posts along the roads. Since I often cycle at night, there are many roads where there are not many lamp posts installed and I have trouble seeing the road incase of danger ahead. By installing more lamp posts, the roads would be more well lit and people would be more aware of the road ahead and avoid danger. Another way to make roads safer would be

c.

a. I would enjoy playing a musical instrument like the person in the video as I am able to learn how to play the songs I enjoy listening to on the guitar. I find the guitar interesting to play because of how the strings each have a different sound and if put together can form a new sound.

b. Young people can help enrich the lives of elderly through VIA activities. One VIA activity would be by visiting elderly homes to accompany them as they may not have visitors of their own often and may feel bored. They can organise games to play with the elderly which are from the elderly people’s generation so they can feel nostalgic and relive their childhood again. Another way would be to organise classes for the elderly to learn how to use technology devices such as their own phones and laptops since the world is more advanced and technology has a big influence. By teaching the elderly how to use their own smart devices or others, they can communicate with their family and friends more. They can also use their devices to maximum ability so it would not be wasted.

c. I agree to a largel extent that an ageing population is one of the major problems modern society is facing. This is because this would lead to increased expenditure on healthcare.. However, I disagree with the statement because this would open up more job opportunities for the younger generations in the working world. An ageing population would require more care by professionals or healthcare workers.
