I learned that in brazil they spent on over 13.6 billion dollars on public stadiums. The reason they spent 13.6 billion dollars is because they had to build stadiums for the world cup .After they lost the world cup they noticed that they had spent a lot of money for nothing. A lot of Brazilians were mad /furious. But brazil is still trying to get the money back instead of making a plan.
I think that brazils economy is falling because they are not trying to make a plane about getting their money back. Instead they are so focused on winning so they could get their money back.
Brazil's economy is struggling with immense poverty. And they are also struggling with astronomical crime rates .Brazil is the regions powerhouse. (You did a good job of reflecting on the article and providing details from the article) - 10/10

The activity we did today was very fun and it really made it a lot easier to understand Brazil's problem. But what we learned was that Brazil spent a lot of money on the World Cup games. And knowing that Brazil is not the richest country in the world, it is hard to believe that Brazil spent $11 billion. And Brazil has a lot more problems than just that. Then when they spent that much money a lot of the citizens got very mad. It did not make them happy that their country spent that much money on something like a game. And Brazil should have planed that better than they did. Because 11.3 billion is a lot of money. (Good job of providing details from the reading and reflecting on the activity) - 10/10

I learned that in Brazil they spent an estimated amount of $11.3 billion dollars on public stadiums. They spent an estimated amount of $11.3 billion dollars because they had to build stadiums before the start of the cup. They realized that they had spent all that money on the stadiums for NO REASON.... A lot of people/Brazilians were angry because they just lost half of the money they had for their country just to spend it on stadiums. Brazil is still trying to find a way to get the money back that they spent on the stadiums. I think what would be best for Brazil is to be smart and make a plan to get the money back. I think that Brazil economy is horrible because instead of putting all their attention on being focused to win $ billion dollars isn't going to help them because $ billion is not enough to help them get back the amount they need or higher. Brazil is a losing country so maybe that's why they have their attention so focused on winning......and if they don't end up winning how are they going to get their money back from building stadiums?? Just because Brazil is the "Regions Economic Powerhouse" doesn't mean anything... but guess what Brazil still struggles with immense poverty and astronomical crime rates. (This was an excellent job on your reflection. You provided detailed thoughts as well as information from the article. Great job) - 12/10

"An economic upwing was one of the things that lawmakers touted to the Brazilian public that was supposed to make hosting the Cup - as well as the 2016 Summer Olympics, which is officially expected to cost another $2.3 billion" invested so they did that for nothing cuz they lost money and the World Cup what's the point. (I don't mind you using information from the article, but you have to quote from the article, not copy it word for word. The public of Brazil started spending their money on World Cup related things like new building and other structures that estimated at $11.3 billion.
What I think about Brazil economy is that Brazil needs help with their economy. I say this because Brazil powerhouse struggles with immense poverty and huge crime rates. Their jobs their are poor because they have big unemployment on the rise. However Brazil have a good rate of tourist. Brazil is depending on their positive reviews because it could help the industry recover from the damage left by Zika.
