July 25th- Have you ever heard of Chicken Little? Well, The Sky is Falling by Mark Teague is a funny take on that old classic. Chicken Little is back with a twist and he's brought along some new characters. You will love the hilarious illustrations, zany dance moves, and clueless fox who thinks he can't be outsmarted.

July 26th- David Shannon has a new book, Duck on a Tractor! This is a follow-up to his previous Duck on a Bike book, and it is just as cute. This time Duck decides to try driving a tractor and the other animals want to go along for the ride. This is one of my new favorite picture books!

July 27th- The graphic novel Roller Girl by Victoria Jamieson is packed with action, as the main character Astrid decides to learn the game of roller derby, which proves harder than she thought it would be. Besides trying to master roller derby, there are also some pretty serious friend issues going on. It's hard to put this book down, and bonus, it's a Bluebonnet nominee.

July 28th- I love books about kids using their imaginations and helping others, so I was really happy to read Sally Jean, the Bicycle Queen by Cari Best. Sally Jean loves riding her bike all over the neighborhood, but what happens when she outgrows it and her parents can't afford to buy her another bike? It's up to Sally Jean to figure out how to make her bike dreams come true.

July 29th- Always an Olivia: A Remarkable Family History by Carolivia Herron is the very interesting and complex story of how many generations of the author's family struggled to find a place to call home in Europe centuries ago. They were forced to flee several places due to their Jewish faith. This is a very compelling story and definitely worth the read.

July 30th- Battle Bunny by Jon Scieszka and Mac Barnett is quite unique. It's basically two books in one. The first book is about a birthday bunny. However, a child named Alex, who the book belongs to, decides to make revisions to the story and make it a little more exciting. With the changes he makes, he changes the birthday bunny into a battle bunny and thus the second story Battle Bunny takes form. This is a great story to read on your own or would make a wonderful lesson starter for teachers to use to show the importance of revising. Kids will LOVE this book!
