for this assignment we had to create on any format an about me video or power point. for mine I decided to do a tiktok so it easier to show my peers my life.
I feel like the presentation went well and it engaged people to watch it and comment about some of the things I mentioned in the video. I could have improved this by adding more hobbies and activity's i enjoy to do instead of adding as many people in the tiktok.

In college we have had multiple tasks which we have had to work within teams. one activity we have had to complete within a team would be creating a group quilt were everybody in our class had to participate and communicate our ideas to successfully have finished it. we had an hour to complete this task and had to work in a timely manner and communicate what we were doing through out the process.

what went well was as a team we completed the quilt just in time and even took a team photo after.
if i could have change anything i would have tried to participate more. what could have been better would be if a student had become a decided leader.

another time team work was used was when we did a fitness lesson to learn about the way blood pumps throughout the body. we work as a team playing football Frisbee were we had to rely on each other and work together to win. every body was competitive and worked really hard. it was a very fun activity where everybody was active.

what went well was that everybody enjoyed themselves and it got everybody outside. what i would change if we did it again would be if we got to pick our own team so we were more comfortable with the people even though it got us to bond with different people

another time we used time work was on our first week at college were we had to get into groups of 5 and do a treasure hunt like activity. we had a range of different questions and goals and even had to take photos with different items along the way. one thing that went well was that we got to explore all around campus and see were everything was. what i would do better if we were to do it again would be to suggest they add different types of questions and add a longer time to complete it as we didn't have long.

when i got enrolled we got taken into a room with tutors with computers. we were asked to sit with one while they asked us questions. some of the questions they asked were , "what we aspire to do as a job in the future" and if we wanted to go to university or not.
after this we were taken into another room to get our student badges.

what went well was that the tutors were nice and it was a fairly quick process. if i could change anything about this i would probably not have made myself worry and stress as much because it made me feel ill before i entered the building.

outside of college i communicate with my college tutors and ask for advise and ask questions about what I need to do. Aswell as send work through teams or emails.
This is good as I have a good way of getting information from my teachers with out having to be at college and if I need work sent then it's easy.
It could be even better if I could use teams with out data because it means I need to wait till I get home to send something to the tutors most of the time.if I could change something I would change having yo wait till before or after classes to be able to ask about something.

when i went to France with family the food was different to what we have in England though this isn't a shock this is an example of cultural difference

when i when to america when i was younger what i noticed was that the amount of diversity in america is vastly different to England

in wales they are more likely to wear traditional clothes for celebrations and outing compared to Britain where we dont have to wear triditional clothes for almost anything.

while at college i have attended a cultural day event with my friends Owen and aliyah in which we had fun learning about all the different cultures religions and aspects of our life as different culture is surrounding us constantly . we got to see how different people live their liver and how there normal is so different to other peoples.

last year i was part of a prefect team where we had to communicate with a variety of people to share ideas and try to come up with fun activities and clubs. this was important to me as i hadn't done anything like this before and it made me feel really included for a change as we all had the same amount of responsibility's and imputes.
with this role we also had to talk to a lot of adults and take on responsibilities of touring large groups of people for hours at a time .

if I could change anything i would have chosen to be a senior prefect instead of just a regular prefect as they were basically just the same they just got a different title and it looks better on the cv

a few weeks ago i got a new job in which i have to do a lot of communication in .this is because as a team we need to communicate threw out the place what's going on and if anybody needs help with anything as its very fast pace and its easy to be behind on thing.
I've used communication skills during my time there by pushing myself to talk to lots of new people as well as having to ask people for help which wasn't easy to do but because of this I am now not as scared of asking how to do things if I don't know or need reminding of how to do things. if i could change anything i would probably have tried to go out of my comfort zone before so i was even more ready for the change of pace of having to talk to people even if i didn't know them.

me and my work partner presented this presentation as part of an assignment in front of the class. At first I felt my heart racing and I couldn't really think straight but once I calmed down and carried on talking I felt a lot more confident with talking in front of the people that were in the room. If I could change anything about what happened i would try to calm myself and get over the nerves before and rather then during.

last year me and my mate Owen when to a world book day even where we got to see a lot of different people dressed up as book characters and they were also selling books to buy. it was a fun and lively event that i wouldn't mind attending again.

a drop in session i attended was for behaviour and discipline as we were able to attend to get some last minute revision before the exam. it was a very interesting lesson and it actually came in handy as we learned about stuff that was actually on the exam if this is available to our class again i will 100% be attending!

every morning for college i take the bus as well as taking it back home this is good not only as it helps with not causing as much air pollution by not using multiple cars but it also stops people who drop you off using twice as much petrol by going back and fourth multiple times in one day.

i take a reusable water bottles to college not only because its cheaper than buying another bottle of water everyday but because of how much plastic is being used and wasted each day when they are being thrown out these bottles can get into our oceans and they can assist in the destruction of our ecosystem

At work I have been training a new employee up. During this I have had to show leadership in showing her how to do things taking charge at certain areas and helping her whenever she is struggling with anything. During this we have been able to accomplish most of the training needed in little time because of trust in each others abilities.

To show our leadership skills me and Owen have planned a fun activity to do in the class. For this we thought it would be a good idea where every body has to hold hand diagonally while one person stands out and tells people where they should go and to move but the rule is nobody is aloud to let go of one another the aim of the game is to have a perfect circle with straight arms .

For example me and my friend aliyah have participated in helping out at events doing things like showing people around and talking to them about what they can expect from the community and then we would lead them over to somebody else who could give them more information and then lead them to the next while making sure everyone was okay ion our group. we did this for 3 evenings 4:30pm till 8:30pm as the event was in a big building hall and it helped to accommodate to people who work and go to school.

During my last few year at high school I was also able to participate in interviews to become apart of the student council team were we were able to share opinions on things that were happening in and around school to try make the place more comfortable and safe for the students there.

We had meetings every Friday with our head teacher as well as our principle were they would ask us to do certain tasks during our breaks and lunches to help out the school such as watching the younger years and making sure that they didn't cause any trouble like throwing things or trying to skip classes. they also asked us to help out at parents evenings and show around's the school for new students.

also i would like to add that we actively participate in recycling at work where we save bottle lids and plastic as well as other materials to be used for either other purposes as we have stalls outside the establishment that collect and use them and we have customers that use them for their art projects.

I have taken part in a few different charities

for example i have done different stalls in the past to help raise money during high school , outside of school i support the make a wish foundation as they once helped my younger brother while he was in hospital with neuroblastoma. we also have 3 different charity boxes at work where we encourage customers to donate to help out.

helping tutor for GCSE

from last year I have been helping my younger sister who is preparing for her gcse's this year. Shes been struggling with maths and sciences. we have been mainly focusing with her become more confident in those subjects. I think this support has been helping her as she feels like she understands certain topics and subjects more and can confidently answer harder questions in her classes with out struggling.

first job

for my first job i started working at McDonald's i at the end of 2022 the 9th of December i worked their for about a month before i had to leave for personal reasons but during my time working their i learnt quite a few different things for example i was put out of my comfort zone and had to talk to and work with a variety of different people doing jobs and roles that i had never done before making it challenging but rewarding to have the knowledge that i was able to do it and work through fears i had with customer service. some negatives of this job were that i feel like they didn't train me on certain things for long enough making it hard for me to stay on task with out asking others for help all the time. although that leads to a positive i have about the job in which i found that most people were happy to lend a helping hand which really made me feel less anxious during my time there.

my second job

During 2023 I found myself with a new job during the summer holidays at a cafe. This was unexpected and I didn't think I was going to settle because of the environment however to my surprise after a few months of working there I was able to fit in really well and get along with all the staff members. As a result of this I am still currently working here and even have regular customers that come in. During my time here I have been able to build a lot of skills that I didnt expect to learn. For example I was able to learn how to talk to customers confidently on the till this would not have been the case when i first started but over time i was able to become more and more comfortable talking to people and being able to be more at ease when dealing with certain customers in general. A negative about working there however would be that when it gets busy it is extremely overwhelming but me and the team there overcome this by working together and working as a team to be able to focus and get jobs done.
