Title: The Giver
Author: Lois Lowry

Introduction: The Giver is a science fiction story about a boy who must choose between his pain-free life and a more colorful one.

Summary: In a perfect society, not everything is as harmonious as it seems. A young boy named Jonas discovers the joy and pain he has been missing out on his whole life and he wants to bring that to others.

Characters:

Jonas - eleven year old boy

The Giver - old man who transmits memories to Jonas

Mother - Jonas's mother who works in the Department of Justice. Not his real mother.

Father - Jonas's father who is a Nurturer. Not his real father.

Lily - Jonas's 7 year old sister. Not his birth sister.

Gabriel - a sick baby that Jonas's father brings home and that Jonas grows close with.

Plot:
Jonas lives in a "perfect" society without colors, war, or emotion. At age 12 he is given the title Receiver of Memory when he learns about the world outside from an elderly man called the Giver. He also learns about death, which nobody in the society knows about. Jonas and the Giver devise a plan to free the society from its structure and bring memories back to people. Jonas risks his life to escape and release the memories.

Evaluation and conclusion:
This is a very complicated story with lots of hidden meanings. It may be a warning against the idea of a "utopian" society because there is no such thing as a perfect society, and some people's ideas of perfect societies take away freedoms from other people. It's also about how important all emotions are, even bad ones, because they make the good ones that much more precious. I would recommend this book to anyone, especially if they are considering going into politics.

Title: Holes
Author: Louis Sachar

Introduction: Holes is the story of a boy who turns his luck upside-down.

Summary: A boy named Stanley Yelnats is sent to a juvenile detention center called Camp Green Lake, where he discovers a mystery and makes new friends.

Characters:

Stanley Yelnats - main character, cursed, forced to dig holes at Camp Green Lake

Zero - Stanley's friend at the camp

Elya Yelnats - Stanley's great-great grandfather

Kate Barlow - an outlaw who robbed Elya Yelnats

X-Ray - scariest inmate at camp

the Warden - the head of the camp who forces juvenile delinquents to dig holes

Plot:
Stanley Yelnats is punished for a crime he did not commit because his great-great grandfather was cursed. He goes to Camp Green Lake, where the Warden forces all of the campers to dig holes. Stanley and his friend Zero realize the Warden is looking for something, probably buried treasure. When they run away from the camp, they learn about the story of Kate Barlow, an outlaw who killed people and robbed Stanley's great-grandfather. Stanley and Zero return to camp and find the treasure. Stanley is proven innocent and released from camp.

Evaluation and conclusion:
I think people of all ages should read this book. It is funny, sad, and has an unexpected plot twist. I like the way the different stories in the present and the past weave together.

Title: Number the Stars
Author: Lois Lowry

Introduction: Number the Stars is about the bravery of ordinary people who did courageous things in World War 2.

Summary: In Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1943, a young girl must help save her Jewish best friend and her family from the Nazis.

Characters:

Annemarie Johansen - main character, 10-year-old Danish girl

Mrs. Johansen - Annemarie's mother

Peter Nielsen - leader in the Danish resistance

Henrik - Annemarie's aunt

Ellen Rosen - Annemarie's best friend. The Johansens help them escape through a clever plan to hide them in a coffin and put them in Henrik's boat that he sails to Sweden. Along the way, Annemarie learns about the courage of the resistance fighters and the sacrifices her family has made.

Evaluation and conclusion
This is partly a historical fiction book because it contains elements of the true story of the war in Denmark, even though the characters did not actually exist. I would highly recommend this book because it puts you in the shoes of people who lived through the terror of the Nazis. It is also a story about the power of friendship, and anyone who has had a best friend can relate to the love between Ellen and Annemarie.

Title:Little Women
Author :Louisa May Alcott

Introduction :Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy March are four sisters living with their mother in New England. Their father is away serving as a chaplain in the Civil War, and the sisters struggle to support themselves and keep their household running despite the fact that the family recently lost its fortune. In the process, they become close friends with their wealthy neighbor, Theodore Laurence, known as "Laurie."

Summary:The story follows the lives of the four March sisters—Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy—and details their passage from childhood to womanhood. Loosely based on the lives of the author and her three sisters,it is classified as an autobiographical or semi-autobiographical novel.

Characters:

1.Josephine March-The protagonist of the novel, and the second-oldest March sister.

2.Meg March - The oldest March sister.

3.Beth March - The third March daughter.

4.Amy March-The youngest March girl.

5.Laurie Laurence - The rich boy who lives next door to the Marches.

6.Marmee-The March girls’ mother.

7.Mr. March-The March girls’ father and Marmee’s husband.

8.Mr. Brooke-Laurie’s tutor.

9.Frederick Bhaer-A respected professor in Germany who becomes an impoverished language instructor in America.

10.Mr. Laurence-Laurie’s grandfather and the Marches’ next-door neighbour.

11.Hannah-The Marches’ loyal servant.

12.Aunt March-A rich widow and one of the March girls’ aunts.

13.Daisy-Meg and Mr. Brooke’s daughter.

14.Demi-Meg and Mr. Brooke’s son and Daisy’s twin.

15.Mrs. Kirke-The woman who runs the New York boarding house where Jo lives.

16.Kate Vaughn-One of Laurie’s British friends.

17.Sallie Gardiner-Meg’s rich friend.

18.Aunt Carrol-One of the March girls’ aunts.

19.Florence-Aunt Carrol’s daughter.

20.Fred Vaughn-One of the Vaughn siblings.

21.Esther-Aunt March’s servant.

22.Annie Moffat -Another wealthy friend of Meg’s.

23.Ned Moffat-The older brother of Meg’s friend Annie Moffat.

24.Frank Vaughn-One of the Vaughn siblings.

25.Grace Faughn-The youngest sister of the Vaughn family.

26.Dr. Bangs-A doctor who tends to Beth when she is ailing.

27.The Hummels - family that lives near the Marches.

Plot:
Four sisters and their mother, whom they call Marmee, live in a new neighborhood (loosely based on Concord) in Massachusetts in genteel poverty. Having lost all his money, their father is serving as a chaplain in the American Civil War, far from home. The mother and daughters face their first Christmas without him. When Marmee asks her daughters to give their Christmas breakfast away to an impoverished family, the girls and their mother venture into town laden with baskets to feed the hungry children. When they return, they discover their elderly neighbor Mr. Laurence has sent over a decadent surprise dinner to make up for their breakfast. The two families become acquainted following these acts of kindness.

Meg and Jo must work to support the family: Meg tutors a nearby family of four children; Jo assists her aged great-aunt March, a wealthy widow living in a mansion, Plumfield. Beth, too timid for school, is content to stay at home and help with housework; and Amy is still at school. Meg is beautiful and traditional, Jo is a tomboy who writes; Beth is a peacemaker and a pianist; and Amy is an artist who longs for elegance and fine society. The sisters strive to help their family and improve their characters as Meg is vain, Jo is hotheaded, Beth is cripplingly shy, and Amy is materialistic. The neighbor boy Laurie, orphaned grandson of Mr. Laurence, becomes close friends with the sisters, particularly the tomboyish Jo.

The girls keep busy as the war goes on. Jo writes a novel that gets published but is frustrated to have to edit it down and can't comprehend the conflicting critical response. Meg is invited to spend two weeks with rich friends, where there are parties for the girls to dance with boys and improve their social skills. Laurie is invited to one of the dances, and Meg's friends incorrectly think she is in love with him. Meg is more interested in John Brooke, Laurie's young tutor.

Word comes that Mr. March is very ill with pneumonia and Marmee is called away to nurse him in Washington. Mr. Laurence offers to accompany her but she declines, knowing travel would be uncomfortable for the old man. Mr. Laurence instead sends John Brooke to do his business in Washington and help the Marches. While in Washington, Brooke confesses his love for Meg to her parents. They are pleased, but consider Meg too young to marry, so Brooke agrees to wait.

While Marmee is in Washington, Beth contracts scarlet fever after spending time with a poor family where three children die. As a precaution, Amy is sent to live with Aunt March and replaces Jo as her companion and helper. Jo, who already had scarlet fever, tends to Beth. After many days of illness, the family doctor advises that Marmee be sent for immediately. Beth recovers, but never fully regains her health and energy.

While Brooke waits for Meg to come of age to marry, he joins the military and serves in the war. After he is wounded, he returns to find work so he can buy a house and be ready when he marries Meg. Laurie goes off to college. On Christmas Day, a year after the book's opening, the girls' father returns home.

Evaluation and conclusion:
Four sisters: Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy March, are part of a poor but loving family. With their father off to war they have only their mother left to encourage them to be the best version of themselves at all times. As they go through love and loss they truly do learn to become 'little women'.I found myself, after reading the last line twice over just to check, satisfied yet in want of more. It was a refreshing read that made me care for the sisters and left me wanting to know what led Alcott to write this simple masterpiece. As all well-known books do, it had a fair few morals that, although made the characters seem a bit too perfect to be real, were reasonable and made me want to make up for my faults (of which there are many).Alcott's writing was elegant yet poignant and haunting at moments, and perfect for the era it was set in, whilst the sister's personalities were intricately described throughout the whole book. It gave you a sense of what it was like to be a normal family in the 1800's and subtly showed the feelings of each character.

It was basically light, easy reading. On a scale of one to ten, I give the book a five. I think if you're the kind of person who likes to read about dungeons, dragons, wizards and other fantasies of that nature, then it's a great book.

1. Book title☞A Bear Called Paddington
2. Author☞Michael Bond
3. Introduction☞This book is about a bear from darkest Peru called Paddington. Now before you ask why he has such an unuusal name I will tell you his story. One day Mr and Mrs Brown are going to Paddington station to pick up their daughter Judy after her summer vacations, but instead they find a bear sitting on a bench with a suitcase.
4. Summary☞One day, the Brown family find a bear from Darkest Peru at Paddington Station in London. They decide to take him in and name him Paddington. That is when Paddington’s new life and his adventures start. He soon becomes part of the family. The children Jonathan and Judy enjoy Paddington’s company and Mrs. Bird, the housekeeper, quickly warms up to him. Paddington makes friends all over the place, his best friend being Mr. Gruber. The only person who can’t stand Paddington is the Browns’ neighbor Mr. Curry.
5. Characters☞-Paddington Bear: A friendly and polite bear from Darkest Peru. Paddington was taken in by Aunt Lucy and Uncle Pastuzo. Paddington moves in with the Browns after Aunt Lucy moves to the Home for Retired Bears. Paddington is usually in some sort of trouble. Paddington's given bear-name is hard to pronounce. Mrs Brown names him after Paddington Station, when they're picking Judy up from boarding school.
-Mr Henry Brown: A hapless but well-meaning City of London Risk Analyst. In the film, Mr Brown refuses to let Paddington move in with his family. He eventually warms up to Paddington and builds him a bedroom in their attic.
-Mrs Mary Brown: Mr. Brown's more serious-minded yet exceptionally friendly wife. In the 1989 animated series Mrs. Brown and her husband have a 12 year old American nephew named David Russell.
-Jonathan and Judy Brown: The energetic and friendly Brown children. It is never established if one is older than the other, leading to the possibility that they might be twins. It is when they are meeting Judy off the train from boarding school that the Browns meet Paddington. In the 1975 series and films, Judy is older. In the 1989 animated series and the 1997 animated series Jonathan is the elder. In the movie, Judy and Jonathan are with their parents when they first meet him at Paddington Station, giving him his iconic name.
-Mrs Bird: The Browns' strict but kindly housekeeper. She is often annoyed by Paddington's antics and mishaps, but is protective of him. Her first name has never been mentioned.
-Mr Samuel Gruber: Paddington's best friend. The friendly owner of an antique shop on the Portobello Road, with whom Paddington has his elevenses every day. He regularly takes Paddington and the Brown children on outings. He is a Hungarian immigrant. He addresses Paddington as "Mr Brown". He informs us about the kindertransports before World War II.
Mr. Reginald Curry: The Browns' mean and bad-tempered next-door neighbour, who serves as a contrast to Mr Gruber. He addresses Paddington simply as "Bear!" Penny-pinching by nature, Mr Curry always wants something for nothing and often persuades Paddington to run errands for him. He tends to invite himself to many of the Browns' special occasions just to sample the snacks. In most of the stories, he gets his comeuppance as a frequent victim of Paddington's misadventures; however, he does sometimes benefit from Paddington's mistakes and has even rewarded him for them on occasion.
-Aunt Lucy: Paddington's aunt from Deepest Darkest Peru. She was his legal guardian until she had to move into the Home for Retired Bears in Lima, Peru. Why she had to do this was never made clear, until the movie when she informs Paddington that she's too old to travel to London with him.
-Uncle Pastuzo: Paddington's wealthy globe-trotting uncle. In the movie Uncle Pastuzo dies from his injuries in an earthquake.
6. Plot☞The novel describes how Paddington Bear from "Darkest Peru" comes to live with the Brown family of 32 Windsor Gardens, London, how he makes a friend in the form of the antiques dealer Mr. Gruber and how he makes an enemy in the form of the Browns' neighbor Mr. Curry. Although he is capable of making those he thinks are being rude or condescending towards him feel uncomfortable simply by giving them a hard stare, Paddington is very friendly, extremely polite and has a strong sense of right and wrong. However, he also has a childlike curiosity and is rather naive, life among humans in England is new and fascinating to him and he has some difficulty adjusting. As a small bear, he also has some physical difficulty coping in a world which is not designed for him, which makes him appear to be somewhat clumsy. As a result, Paddington often finds himself in trouble of some kind. Nevertheless, things always seem to work out well for Paddington in the end.
7. Evaluation and conclusion☞The book is divided into short stories that are connected to each other and should be read in a consecutive order. In each story, Paddington usually learns something from his or others’ behaviour.

Author: John Kotter

Introduction: The book looks at the story of an Antarctica based colony of penguins whose entire existence is changed by the discovery that their home iceberg is melting, putting the entire colony at great risk. The majestic Emperor penguins have lived on this iceberg for decades, but one of the penguins (Fred), who is a young and immensely curious member of the group has discovered through ongoing observation, that change is greatly needed for the survival of the colony.

Summary:Through a fable about penguins whose iceberg is cracking, the authors convey a message for making change happen within our organizations; we learn that companies must constantly adapt in order to develop and that success can only be achieved with a collective and innovative spirit.

Charactoristic:

Fred - An abnormally curious penguin who identifies the problem and brings it to Alice. He is Level-headed with a creative streak but has gone mostly remarkably until the crisis.

Alice - A go-getter, she is the driving force behind the penguin colony. She is pragmatic and impartial towards all other penguins. Through her the knowledge of the issue is brought the the attention of the elders.

Louis - He is the head penguin in charge of the penguin elders and, through that, the entire colony. He has experience and wisdom making him an ideal leder.

NoNo- The main antagonist of the story, he spends his time preaching against the other five and their work to find a solution.

Buddy - A very charismatic penguin, he spends his time calming the fears of the regular penguins. Although he is not particularly intelligent he is well liked by everyone and is vital to the success of the group.

The Proffesor - He is very intelligent but tends to ramble. An eager learner he is always looking for things to study.

Plot:

It is here that a colony of penguins enjoys ideal living conditions. In fact, they are convinced that they will never have to leave their cozy home.

To combat the cold, these animals instinctively know to keep each other warm. Therefore, the large family of emperor penguins have understood the importance of solidarity. Without it, they simply cannot survive.

The colony has 268 penguins, and among them, one individual seems to differ from the rest of the group. His name is Fred, and at first glance, he is a rather banal and quite sympathetic animal. However, he has one particularity: he is observant and curious.

Instead of going fishing like his peers, Fred studies his environment. Also, he is less interested in family life than other penguins. Yet he takes care of his family, but his passion often leads him to isolate himself from the group. Although his companions appreciate him, they know he is concerned about the contents of a briefcase, which never leaves his side.

In fact, this suitcase contains all of his observations, and they are increasingly alarming.

Fred makes more and more alarming discoveries and projects himself into a catastrophic scenario that he now fears. If the iceberg breaks, it will be a disaster, especially in winter. Moreover, if this happens, many members of the colony among whom the youngest will die.

However, Fred feels very lonely because he remembers the well-founded fears of a certain Arnold, fears which isolated him from the group. When he too was worried about the future of the iceberg, he told his fellow penguins. Not only was he not listened to, but all of them are now suspicious of him and discreetly steer clear of him.

The penguin colony has a “Leadership Council” with Louis, the Head Penguin, in charge. This is where ten wise penguins meet regularly to reflect on the organization of the group.

Alice is a little different from other penguins. Indeed, she is not arrogant and behaves in a very altruistic way with her colleagues. That is why Fred decides to go talk to her to explain his fears.

Like the rest of the colony, she tends to think of Fred’s concerns as being caused by personal issues. Yet she decides to listen to him carefully. Also, Fred offers to take her to see the place that is at the origin of his concerns. It’s happening under the block of ice. Despite the presence of predators, the two penguins take the risk of going to inspect the crack and signs of degradation of the iceberg.

Alice is the most skilled penguin negotiator. However, she is less comfortable with the natural sciences and Fred takes the time to explain the situation to her. He thus explains, icebergs are not just large icicles and are often made up of canals and interior caves. When temperatures rise, water floods the canals and cavities. Then, when the temperature drops, all that water freezes and eventually threatens to shatter the iceberg. With the explanations of Fred, Alice realizes the gravity of the situation and promises to him that she will try to convince the leaders to take the best precautions.

Despite everything, she advises him to remain patient because it is likely that many birds will accuse him of making up stories.

Alice keeps her promise: she informs the members of the Council led by Louis. However, overall, everyone has something else to do rather than listen. They do more bickering, about meeting schedules or the duration of weekly discussions. Alice then suggests inviting Fred to the next meeting. The Head Penguin readily accepts, in particular to satisfy his curiosity. What got Louis to agree to Alice’s proposal was especially because she paid him compliments. His big penguin ego immediately reacted positively.

However, the Head Penguin prefers not to mention Fred’s presence at the next session to avoid last-minute withdrawals. For his part, Fred asks for additional information before his intervention in the Council in order to prepare a suitable speech, as he wants to convince the ten honorable members of the Council, some of whom, he has been warned, are difficult to impress.

The next day, Louis, the Head Penguin, receives a pep talk from certain members of the colony advising him to make the necessary decisions himself. Conversely, others suggest that he involve the youngest penguins. However, Louis feels they do not have the required experience. In addition, some of them have a downright bad reputation.

So, to move forward and create a team capable of making the right decisions, Louis decides to bring together the most competent penguins. Thus, he summons Alice, Buddy, Fred, and Jordan, a penguin who, if there was a university, would probably be a teacher there. In fact, he is nicknamed “the Professor”. In reality, the Head Penguin has a specific idea in mind: forming the best team to meet the challenge. He believes the five of them have the skills to successfully save the iceberg.

Jordan, the cultivated penguin, thinks in silence. In fact, he compiles a list to highlight each person’s qualities. And here are his first conclusions:

Louis: experienced, a little conservative and respected.

Alice: has a strong character, always achieves her goals and considers everyone equally.

Buddy: adorable, not ambitious, not very intelligent, but loved by all.

Fred: very creative and curious, has a nice beak, has affinities with the youngest of the clan.

Me, Jordan: logical, educated, always up to solving problems.

It thus appears that the five chosen members constitute a strong group that is willing to act immediately.

Louis asks everyone to think carefully before committing. He reassures them, they do not have to accept. However, everyone responds positively to the proposal.

After spending much of the day together becoming lost in vain considerations, the team is forced to realize that solutions will not come by themselves. It is then that Louis the Head Penguin gets an idea: he asks everyone to close their eyes for a minute. Then, he tells them to indicate, still with their eyes closed, where east is. Opening their eyes, they are surprised to see that they are all pointing their fins in a different direction. It is a way of realizing that it is important to get on the same wavelength to move forward effectively.

The five members of the decision-making group have only one month to find a solution to their habitat problem related to the melting ice. Moreover, Alice thinks that it is necessary to recruit other brains and widen the group to new members.

While one penguin suggests digging a hole up to the cave to release the water pressure, the others explain that it would take too long. Another penguin thinks it is more efficient to look for a flawless iceberg that can safely shelter them.

Another idea is to move the colony to central Antarctica, but others think that would take them too far away from food. Then comes the turn of another penguin who offers to make glue from orca grease to repair the cracks.

Finally, an older penguin gives them some valuable advice:

“Maybe you should do what Fred did when he found out about our terrible problem. Walk and roam about with eyes and a mind wide open. Be curious.”

Willing to follow the advice of wisdom, the team begins to scour the iceberg to explore it. As they walk west, the five protagonists discover new landscapes and meet families with the same concerns as them. Then, looking up, they see a strange animal that does not usually fly above their heads. This bird is fascinating because it behaves in a very different way from others of its species.

Thinking a bit, they come to a conclusion: this bird must have a home, otherwise it will freeze in one night. Or, it is what the penguins call a nomad, that is to say a creature living according to habits very different from their

This prospect of radically changing lifestyle is a real eye-opener. In fact, the five penguins all want to know more about this flying bird. The decision is unanimous: they absolutely have to talk to this strange animal to know how it operates. And when they finally find it, Buddy is ideally suited to accost it with gentleness and care.

This is how the bird, the seagull, tells the five penguins about its role as scout, essential for the survival of its clan. It also describes to them what its group eats and how they live. Then, very quickly, it becomes chilled and must fly away so as not to freeze in place.

As soon as the seagull leaves, everyone gets together. Alice finds this meeting very interesting. Of course, penguins are very different from these little birds, but they can learn from their experience.

They simply need to realize that nothing is everlasting and that many other solutions are available to them. It will be difficult to admit after so many years of routine, but it is definitely important to make a change in mentality. Their future depends on it.

The Professor, meanwhile, remains thoughtful. How come nobody noticed the problems of the iceberg before. A new theory germinates within his mind. Perhaps the degradation of the ice island is due to a sudden and recent phenomenon?

The next day, the time has come to let the others know and the penguins decide to communicate their recent discoveries. For this, Jordan the Professor has prepared a series of slides in order to present the facts to the whole community.

Louis, the Head Penguin, is convinced that the Professor’s presentation is a true masterpiece. However, he decides to introduce his remarks with a little more finesse, because, as he is aware, the audience is not very smart.

The idea is to take a bit of a dig at their self-esteem and make them say what Louis expects from them. Thus, with skillful questions, he leads them towards a questioning full of common sense and of which they cannot disapprove. It’s about discussing the importance of discipline, love for their children and brotherhood. At the end of the speech, the penguins feel that they have come up with the ideas themselves

Then, Louis cuts to the chase: living well does not depend on location. Afterwards, he passes the floor to Buddy, who is appreciated by all, to get to the point, mentioning their encounter with the seagull. The cutest penguin tells them about the life of this strange animal. The freedom of its colony gave them ideas to reconsider their way of life. However, although Buddy is quite the talented storyteller, at the end of his speech, the reactions remain mixed. Some penguins cannot imagine that a bird can fly. For others, the notion of freedom is quite new. Finally, the smartest penguins remain silent.

Louis insists that they too can live on another iceberg and that its disappearance does not mean the end of their existence.

Not all of them seem convinced but seem to be listening to the message. At the end of the meeting, Alice calls Buddy, Fred, and the Professor to present them an idea. She thinks it would be good to create posters to help others keep in mind that a decision would have to be made soon.

Every day, the most creative penguins come up with new slogans. They also put them under water so that the penguins can read them while going fishing. The penguins decide to begin and lead speaking groups. Gradually, many penguins open up to new perspectives, though not all are yet convinced. Despite everything, a big step forward has been taken.

In the days that follow, a lot of things happen on the iceberg. Some good, some bad and some rather embarrassing or unexpected:

The good: increasing energy emanates from the iceberg.

The rather good: several of the youngest penguins offer their services as scouts.

The not so good: the NoNo penguin and the most pessimistic ones circulate false information that dampens general enthusiasm.

The mysterious: the usually kind teacher tells terrible stories to the younglings who then have terrible nightmares.

The not at all mysterious but very embarrassing: Council members argue over who should take the place of the Head Scout.

The very bad news: exploring the territories takes a long time and they have to eat. However, penguins only fish for themselves and their children, never for a fellow creature.

Critics, including the NoNo penguin, are rubbing their hands: not everything will be so easy, and they welcome it. Young Amanda, a very invested planner, slowly becomes discouraged. Indeed, as the days go by, her husband begs her to gain perspective and her little penguin begin to have frightening dreams. Finally, the food problem concerning the scouts becomes a reality.

NoNo continues to speak ill to the entire colony. They must counteract him, and quickly. Thus, it is decided that the Professor will follow him all day long on the iceberg. Since he cannot stand his convoluted rhetoric, NoNo is reduced to trying to run away from him. Consequently, he can no longer spread his distressing messages.

Louis is aware that some of his fellow penguins want to take the place of Head Scout. He directly calls on them to stop this race for power. Alice, being more diplomatic, highlights the benefits of certain executive penguins for the safeguard of the colony. The most resistant penguins are surprised to find this new organization interesting.

At this point in the story, Buddy proposes to go and meet the teacher, whom he finds completely depressed. Upset, she reveals her worries to him. She is convinced that with all these changes, kindergarten will disappear. Then, as she is getting older, she fears that they will do without her services. Buddy, the nicest of the penguins, reassures her by telling her that it will be the opposite. Children will need to learn even more in a constantly changing world. As he is patient and reassuring, the teacher begins to become less anxious.

While NoNo can no longer harm the group, the teacher begins to tell wonderful stories to the children. Thus, the nightmares stop, and some children even play the role of mediator without realizing it.

One day, Alice crosses paths with little Rosalie who loved the teacher’s stories about heroes helping their own overcome challenges. The young female penguin wants to become one of these heroes, but she doesn’t know how. Alice then tells her that all she has to do is go back to her parents and explain to them that they must feed the scouts. That will be enough to make her a hero.

The following days, little Rosalie shares with her many friends these ideas to suggest to all parents of the iceberg. Moved by these positions, the teacher creates a “Day of tribute to our heroes.” Some adults view this with somewhat concern. Until now, all penguins and even fewer children had the right to speak. It is an important first and the little ones are delighted.

Louis, the Council Leader wants to take advantage of the almost general enthusiasm and he believes that they must select the best scouts. He is determined to show everyone in the colony that things are about to change.

The idea inspired by little Rosalie, the “Day of tribute to our heroes”, has gained ground: it takes the form of a large festival with a raffle draw, shows and even a flea market. The entry price is set at two fish per adult. Some penguins are skeptical but are ultimately happy that their children are taking action in favor of the community. Then, peer pressure does its job, and soon the whole colony agrees to participate in the event. They decide to schedule this day as the day of the scout’s return. This way, they can enjoy a good meal when they come back from their long journey.

Upon their return, the scouts are exhausted, some injured, but so happy to share their findings. The penguins provide them with a nursing station. The scouts can then eat. Finally, they tell about the new icebergs discovered during their long voyage at sea.

Rosalie’s friends have made ribbons and medals cut out of ice with the inscription “HEROES.” Louis offers Rosalie the famous bottle used for the frozen water experiment. In doing so, he wishes to pay tribute to the young female penguin because she demonstrated unprecedented civic spirit and imagination.

That evening, the penguins continue the discussions late into the night. While the more hesitant members begin to believe, those who are already convinced become even more optimistic. As for NoNo, he is as discreet as possible.

The next day, Louis calls the scouts together to ask them to give him a precise account of what they saw. He wants to know if there is an iceberg large enough and well placed to suit the life of the community. It will also have to be not too far away so that the old and the young will be able to reach it.

Heroes’ Day triggered many penguins to take up the calling and volunteer to be scouts. In fact, it is planned to conduct a second wave of research to validate the findings of the first outing.

According to Alice, they must hold out and not lower their guard because many members of the colony are starting to think that the move can wait another year. Together, the members of the Council develop a list of essential characteristics for their next place

The iceberg is found. As the Antarctic winter approaches, they decide to set the move for May 12. There are a few incidents but, ultimately, all the penguins arrive safely. In the same way, Louis is more and more respected, while Buddy continues to reassure the most worried penguins and to calm the hysterical ones.

Winter passes without too much trouble. However, it is difficult to fish in unfamiliar areas with new and unpredictable winds. They then decide to look for a more suitable iceberg and the scouts set off again towards the unknown.

The following season, a second move is scheduled to gain a larger living space, located in waters full of fish. Of course, this second change is less stressful than the first.

Despite some tough and well-established traditions, the penguins continue to evolve. Alice, Rosalie, and the scouts are determined to continue their efforts:

Louis considers revamping the “Leadership Council” to include the bravest penguins.

Scouts are now recruited according to well-defined criteria and benefit from more fish as a work bonus.

New subjects have been added to the children’s school curriculum and the Professor now holds the post of Chief Meteorologist.

Fred becomes the Head Scout.

Buddy remains the modest penguin he was at the start of the adventure.

Louis retires and Alice succeeds him with a slightly more balanced way of presiding. The colony is now bigger and better able to face the difficulties it encounters.

However, some penguins are still a little reluctant to change. But, overall, they find a certain balance between what they have learned and the new rules. Finally, Grandfather Louis becomes the favorite storyteller of the children who all ask him to tell the story of the Great Change.

Although, initially, the old penguin is afraid to sound like somebody overly nostalgic of the past, he quickly realizes that this story has a significant impression on the young penguins of the colony. Thanks to this story, the little penguins gather positive momentum to take on the changes necessary for the well-being of the flock.

With an army of powerful and determined volunteers, the colony now has something to look to the future, with greater confidence. And the former Head Penguin, Louis, is quite proud of this!

Evaluation and conclusion :It is more important to convince others than to force them to follow you. For this, it is worth using various and adapted communication channels.

Tittle : The Maze Runner
Auther : James Dashner

Introduction:The story shows how a group of people called "Gladers" are manipulated and controlled within an inescapable maze. After a year of living within the maze, they manage to create a safe environment in which their people can live in. To reach this, they had to set certain rules to prevent chaos from erupting and maintaining order.

Summary:
Thomas (Dylan O'Brien), a teenager, arrives in a glade at the center of a giant labyrinth. Like the other youths dumped there before him, he has no memory of his previous life. Thomas quickly becomes part of the group and soon after demonstrates a unique perspective that scores him a promotion to Runner status -- those who patrol the always-changing maze to find an escape route. Together with Teresa (Kaya Scodelario), the only female, Thomas tries to convince his cohorts that he knows a way out.

Characters:
1.Thomas-The main protagonist of the novel. He is the last boy but not the last person to enter the Glade. The only thing he can remember when he comes into the Glade is his name, a common pattern amongst the Gladers. Chuck describes him as about 16 years old, of average height, and brown-haired. He was called "Greenie", a nickname given to new arrivals. He becomes a Runner with Minho after being the first person to spend a whole night (along with Minho) in the Maze and saves Alby when he is about to die. He has a telepathic connection with Teresa and was able to talk to her while she was in a coma.
2.Teresa-One of the main protagonists. The first girl and last person to enter the Glade. When she entered the Glade she was in a coma and Newt thought she was dead. She also calls Thomas "Tom". She has a telepathic connection with Thomas. She is also known to help Thomas out of the maze and fight the Grievers in the Griever Hole. She is thin, has black hair and blue eyes, and relatively pale skin.
3.Alby-The eldest and the leader of the Gladers. He is described as a 'dark-skinned boy with short-cropped hair, his face clean-shaven'. He tries to keep order within the group by having all the boys follow the rules they've set down to survive. He has a very close relationship with Newt, his second-in-command. He was in the group of 30 people who first arrived in the Glade. Alby commits suicide by walking into a group of Grievers, thinking that it was better that he die there than outside the Maze.
4.Newt-One of the main protagonists and is good friends with Thomas and Minho. He used to be a Runner but is no longer able-footed. He is very kind, friendly, and welcoming to Thomas. He is Alby's closest friend and second-in-command and takes over as leader when Alby no longer feels capable
5.Minho-One of the main protagonists and is the Keeper of the Runners. He is in charge of navigating and mapping out the Maze. As a Runner, he is in very good shape and is described as "an Asian kid with strong, heavily-muscled arms and short black hair." He is sarcastic and a jokester. He tends to react without thinking, which leads himself into trouble. He and Thomas quickly become good friends
6.Chuck-
A young and chubby boy with curly hair who was the newest Glader until Thomas arrived. He immediately becomes friends with Thomas and acts like a little brother towards him. Chuck was a "Slopper", one of the Gladers who handle all the dirty, distasteful jobs the others don't want. He is around 13 years old. He is killed by Gally after a knife is thrown at him while he is saving Thomas.
7.Gally-The main antagonist, Gally is a Glader who lives by the rules Alby put in place. He does not trust Thomas and shows an immense dislike for him. He is also the Keeper of the Builders. He runs away from the Glade in a fit of rage after exclaiming that he thought "Thomas was not to be trusted" in the Gathering. At the end of the book, he kills Chuck by throwing a knife into his chest.
8.Ben-A Builder. After undergoing the Changing and attempting to kill Thomas, he is banished to the Maze while still psychotic and dies overnight.
9.Ava Paige-The Chancellor of WICKED and the person responsible for sending teenagers into the Maze. She appears in the Epilogue in an e-mail.
10.Grievers-Biomechanical creatures that haunt and kill the Gladers in the maze. In "The Ending" they are let free into the Glade to kill one person every day.

Plot-Awakening in an elevator, remembering nothing of his past, Thomas emerges into a world of about thirty teenage boys, all without past memories, who have learned to survive under their own set of rules in a completely enclosed environment, subsisting on their own agriculture and supplies. With a new boy arriving every thirty days, the group has been in "The Glade" for three years, trying to find a way to escape through the Maze that surrounds their living space (patrolled by cyborg monsters named 'Grievers'). They have begun to give up hope when a comatose girl arrives with a strange note, and their world begins to change with the boys dividing into two factions: those willing to risk their lives to escape and those wanting to hang onto what they've got and survive.

Evaluation and Conclusion-This book is an adventurous and mysterious story.I had learnt that there is no guarantee of success in life, and there is always a risk of failure. Ultimately it's a test of your physical, mental and spiritual strength!

Rowling

Summary:

As Death Eaters wreak havoc in both Muggle and Wizard worlds, Hogwarts is no longer a safe haven for students. Though Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) suspects there are new dangers lurking within the castle walls, Dumbledore is more intent than ever on preparing the young wizard for the final battle with Voldemort. Meanwhile, teenage hormones run rampant through Hogwarts, presenting a different sort of danger. Love may be in the air, but tragedy looms, and Hogwarts may never be the same.

Characters:

Harry Potter

The sixteen-year-old protagonist and hero of the book. Harry is the subject of a prophecy that states that he and Voldemort must one day face each other and battle, as neither can live while the other does. He attempts to maintain a normal school life, playing Quidditch and admiring girls, while simultaneously bearing the enormous weight of his destiny. Harry is loving, moral, and extremely loyal to his friends, his school, and headmaster Albus Dumbledore.

Albus Dumbledore

Headmaster of Hogwarts and a father figure to Harry Potter. Dumbledore is extraordinarily wise and trusting and an extremely powerful wizard. Apart from Harry, Dumbledore is Voldemort’s only other archenemy. He operates with integrity, grace, and surprising humor.

Lord Voldemort

Once a student at Hogwarts named Tom Riddle, now a force of extreme evil. Voldemort is supported by a cabal of Death Eaters who perform his bidding. Like Harry, he was raised as an orphan and brought to Hogwarts by Dumbledore. He has divided his soul into seven Horcruxes, rendering himself functionally immortal and soulless.

Hermione Granger

One of Harry Potter’s two best friends. Hermione is an extremely conscientious student, her hand perpetually in the air during class. In addition to being highly intelligent, Hermione is also the more cautious of Harry’s friends, constantly challenging his quick thinking and lack of foresight. Hermione is a Mudblood, meaning she is a wizard born to Muggle parents. Many Slytherins, including Draco Malfoy, deride her for this condition.

Ron Weasley

The other of Harry’s best friends. Strong, impulsive, and anxious, Ron is a lovable goof. He plays the position of keeper for the Gryffindor Quidditch team. He briefly dates Lavender Brown but seems to have a longstanding and unspoken interest in Hermione.

Severus Snape

A former Death Eater and longtime professor of Potions at Hogwarts. This year, Dumbledore promotes Snape to professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts. Harry, Ron, and Hermione don’t trust or like Snape. Several members of the Order feel similarly, but Dumbledore continually insists that Snape is reformed and a crucial member of the Order and the Hogwarts faculty. Snape and Harry’s father, James Potter, were enemies when they were students at Hogwarts, which may color Snape’s cruel treatment of Harry.

Draco Malfoy

One of Harry’s classmates, the son of convicted Death Eater Lucius Malfoy and Narcissa Malfoy. Draco is mean, cold, and demanding, and Harry suspects him to be a Death Eater like his father. He constantly mocks Hermione and other Mudbloods for their impure heritage.

Horace Slughorn

The newly recruited Professor of Potions at Hogwarts. Slughorn is obsessed with making the acquaintance of potentially powerful and influential young wizards. He hosts weekly parties in his room, inviting only select students known as the “Slug Club.” Posesses an important memory of Voldemort, having been the first person to tell Voldemort what a Horcrux is.

Ginny Weasley

Ron Weasley’s pretty, popular younger sister. Harry develops strong feelings for Ginny but prevents himself from acting on them because he is afraid of jeopardizing his relationship with Ron. Eventually, after an especially triumphant Quidditch match, Harry kisses her, to Ron’s approval. Hermione discovers that Eileen Prince was Snape’s mother, Harry ponders the Horcruxes a bit, and then all attend the funeral, after which Harry breaks up with Ginny. As Harry then walks off on his own, Scrimgeour again tries to persuade him to help the ministry, and Ron and Hermione come over. Harry tells them he won’t return to Hogwarts, and they pledge to stay by his side.

Evolution And Conclusion<del>:</del>

Other than Dumbledore's death, the other crucial part of the ending of "Half-Blood Prince" is the revelation that Voldemort has split his soul into seven Horcruxes — various magical items that keep him alive even when his body is killed. This is how he survived the night Harry's parents died.

This book is one of my favourite book because this book has adventure, fun, friendship, magical. The variety of characters is so cool. One of the best thing about this book is that it's always a laugh .Harry sacrifices time with his friends and his fun to go through this all with Dumbledore. You can also see the importance of true trust and friendship with the whole deal between Lavender and Ron and Hermione. The thing I learned is TRUE TUST AND FRIENSHIP.

Title: A Study in Scarlet
Author: Arthur Conan Doyle

Introduction: The book's title derives from a speech given by Holmes, a consulting detective, to his friend and chronicler Watson on the nature of his work, in which he describes the story's murder investigation as his "study in scarlet": "There's the scarlet thread of murder running through the colourless skein of life, and our duty is to unravel it, and isolate it, and expose every inch of it.

Summary: "A Study in Scarlet" is the story about how Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson solved the murder of Joseph Strangerson( and later,Enoch Drebber). This book is written from the perspective of Watson,a retired soldier and doctor, who accompanies Holmes on his investigations in Victorian England. On meeting Holmes through an old friend, Watson is astounded with his brilliant observation skills and they agree to be flatmates and split rent for an apartment on 221B Baker Street.

Characters:

Sherlock Holmes:A unique young man with a mind like a 'racing engine'. The investigation continued.

One day, Detective Gregson bursts into the apartment, exclaiming that he had caught the criminal. He announced Enoch Drebber as murderer just moments before Lestrade enters the room with news: Enoch Drebber had been murdered that morning.

John Ferrier (a traveler in his mid-fifties) and a little girl (Lucy Ferrier) were lost, wandering in the desert for days without food or water. Finally, the man collapsed with the child and prepared to die as Lucy's mother and the other travelers had. But Mormon emigrants heading to Utah found the two and brought them to live with them as long as they converted to Mormonism. Having no choice, but thankful for safety, the two moved into the Mormon community. John Ferrier became a wealthy man and Lucy blossomed into a beautiful young woman and they lived happily as father and daughter.

One day, Lucy went out to round up some cattle and would have been trampled if the handsome Jefferson Hope, a Protestant hunter who was in the area, had not saved her. From there, the two fell in love. John Ferrier secretly hated the Mormon community, but knew not to speak out about it, since the Mormons ruled with fear* and whoever spoke out about it would disappear (whether killed, held hostage, or something else, the community did not know). He thought Hope was a respectable young man and was pleased that he was Protestant. But soon after Ferrier decided to allow Lucy to marry the young man, the Mormon Prophet came to visit. The Prophet was the leader of the Mormon community, and he said that Lucy must choose to marry Joseph Stangerson or Enoch Drebber.

When Hope returned, the three stole away in the middle of night. They had gotten into the woods to make camp when Hope left to hunt down some food for them to eat before continuing on their journey. But when he returned, both Ferriers were gone. He frantically searched the campsite and found a grave that read "John Ferrier". Lucy Ferrier had been kidnapped and made a wife to Enoch Drebber. She died of a broken heart. Jefferson Hope was anguished and infuriated and he spent his entire life plotting revenge against the two men.

When Drebber and Stangerson realized that their lives were in danger, they ran until Jefferson Hope caught up with them. He got a job as a taxi driver and kept an eye on them for weeks.

One night when Stangerson was drunk, Hope picked him up and brought him back to Number 3, Lauriston Gardens. When they got inside, Hope revealed his identity and pulled two identical pills from his pocket. One was extremely deadly, and the other was harmless. Stangerson fearfully chose one at random- and he chose the wrong one, for he died almost on instant. Out of excitement, Jefferson Hope's nose began to bleed. So Hope took the blood and rubbed the word 'Rache' on the wall in an attempt to confuse the police.

Next, Hope found Drebber and climbed in through his window. He woke the man up and gave him the option to take a pill, but Drebber sprang at Hope's throat, so Hope stabbed him in the heart. His justice had been served- both men were dead.

Conclusion: The story ends with Watson promising to set the public straight with the account of the case from his journal. This story tell us that being powerful does not mean that you can force others.

*Tittle*: Crazy Rich Asians
*Author*: Kevin Kwan

Introduction:
Rachel is a New York University (NYU) professor of economics, who is originally from Cupertino, California. She was raised by her single mother and leads a typical middle-class life. When her boyfriend Nick, also an NYU professor, takes her to meet his family in Singapore, she is completely unaware of what is in store for her. Although he grew up in London, Nick is a Singapore native. Unknown to anyone in New York, he not only belongs to one of the top ten wealthiest families in Asia but is possibly sole heir to his family's great fortune. Despite this wealth, he was raised to be humble and to keep a low profile. Because of his upbringing, he is confident his family will approve of his simple girlfriend, but things turn out very differently than he expects.

Summary:
Nick and Rachel are in love in New York City. After two years of dating, he's finally ready to introduce her to his family. But just a small catch: they don't know she exists, and they are very particular about who marries into the family. After traveling to Singapore to meet the fam and attend Nick's friend's wedding, Rachel's troubles begin pretty quickly: she's subjected to a gauntlet of women trying to get between her and Nick, including, and especially, Nick's mom. While at a bachelorette party, Rachel is bullied by the socialites, even finding a dead fish in her hotel room. (Ick.) Meanwhile, Nick is trying to save his best friend Colin from the worst bachelor weekend ever. Sounds like a bad weekend for some last-fling-before-the-ring parties. While all of this is happening, Nick's cousin Astrid, one of the most beautiful women in Asia (you know, casual), finds out that her husband is having an affair with another woman. And possibly has another son. Kinda makes the dead fish sound like no biggie…) The remainder of the story focuses on Astrid figuring out why her marriage fell apart and taking advice from her ex-fiancée Charlie to figure out what to do next. Sure, why not get advice from your ex-fiancée.After the wedding, Rachel has had it with the other girls treating her terribly and packs her bags to go. Nick begs her to stay, and whisks her away to propose. But waiting at the proposal site is…wait for it…his mother and grandmother. And they're stuffed to the gills with reasons why Rachel isn't good enough for Nick, including the fact (apparently) that the father she thought was dead is actually alive…and in prison.Days pass, and Rachel breaks up with Nick because his family isn't the best. We can't really blame her. Nick gets encouragement from his bestie to "make everything possible" (3.16.54) so he's not totally giving up on her just yet. Rachel's mom shows up in Singapore, stopping Rachel from going to China to meet her father because…he's not her father.Rachel's mom spills all the family secrets, including who Rachel's real father is and why she had to smuggle Rachel out of China long ago. (It has something to do with acid in a baby's eye. No really.) Cue the hugs, tears, and "I love you so muches," as well as a reconciliation with Nick.Rachel and Kerry prepare to leave to go back to New York, but Nick shows up on the plane to try and talk to Rachel. He explains what his ideal proposal would have been, but he doesn't care about it because he loves her so much and would give up his whole fortune just to spend the rest of his life with her. Nick proposes once again on the airplane, but this time with Eleanor's ring, with all the passengers watching. Rachel says yes this time. Everyone cheers as she and Nick share a big kiss. Nick tells Rachel that he would like to stay just one more night.Nick later surprises Rachel by throwing an engagement party on a rooftop with all of his friends and family attending with excitement. Eleanor even manages to give Rachel a sincere smile. Rachel and Nick kiss as fireworks explode across the sky.

Characters

Rachel Chu: A Stanford and Northwestern-educated American of Chinese descent who is an economics professor at New York University.

Author: Charles Perrault

Introduction:
"Cinderella" is a folk tale about oppression and triumphant reward. Thousands of variants are known throughout the world. The protagonist is a young woman living in forsaken circumstances that are suddenly changed to remarkable fortune, with her ascension to the throne via marriage. The story of Rhodopis, recounted by the Greek geographer.

Summary:
With a wicked stepmother (Eleanor Audley) and two jealous stepsisters (Rhoda Williams, Lucille Bliss) who keep her enslaved and in rags, Cinderella (Ilene Woods) stands no chance of attending the royal ball. When her fairy godmother (Verna Felton) appears and magically transforms her reality into a dream come true, Cinderella enchants the handsome Prince Charming at the ball, but must face the wrath of her enraged stepmother and sisters when the spell wears off at midnight.

Characters:
Cinderella
Cinderella is a young orphan with medium-length blonde hair, blue eyes and fair complexion.

Jaq and Gus
Jaq (real name Jacques) and Gus (real name Octavius) are two mice who serve as Cinderella's sidekicks. Gus has a penchant for cheese.

Lady Termaine
Lady Tremaine (also known as the Wicked Stepmother or Cinderella's stepmother) is the main antagonist of the franchise. She is based on the original character from the Cinderella fairy tale created by Charles Perrault. She has been portrayed by Cate Blanchett and Gabrielle Anwar and voiced by Eleanor Audley and Susanne Blakeslee.

Anastasa Tremaine
Anastasia Tremaine is the redheaded younger daughter of Lady Tremaine.Though following the original story's depiction of the ugly and cruel stepsister in the first film, Anastasia becomes a more sympathetic character in later Disney sequels, depicted as struggling to find genuine love and follow her conscience despite her mother and sister's negative influence and scheming. Pat Williams, James Denney, and Jim Denney report that actress "Lucille Bliss was the voice of Cinderella's stepsister, Anastasia, an experience that remains one of her fondest memories."

Drizella Tremaine
Drizella Tremaine is the brown-haired older daughter of Lady Tremaine.Drizella appears in various novels and other publications.

Prince Charming
Prince Charming is Cinderella's love interest. He is a dark-haired, tall, and handsome young man. In the first film, he has no given name. Cinderella's prince is never actually identified in the film as "Prince Charming", nor is there any clear reason why he has come to be known by that title in the Disney vernacular. The only media where he is referred to as "Prince Charming" as of today is Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep and the attraction Prince Charming Regal Carrousel.

Lucifer
Lucifer is the Tremaines' pet cat and the third antagonist of the franchise. Tonally, his existence can be justified to provide a sinister and scheming opposing counterpart to Cinderella's loyal and good-natured pet dog Bruno as well as the birds and mice who are supportive and loving friends and allies of Cinderella.

Fairy Godmother
The Fairy Godmother first appears in the film after Cinderella's stepsisters tear her gown to shreds before Prince Charming's ball. She appears in the garden, and greatly transforms her appearance for the ball. She transforms the mice into stallions, Bruno the dog into a footman, Major the horse into a coachman, a pumpkin into a white coach, and transforms her torn dress into a beautiful silvery-blue dress with comfortable glass slippers.

The King

The unnamed King is Prince Charming's father who desperately wants his son to marry and have children because he wants to see his grandchildren before he dies as shown in the first film. In the second film, he appears a few times in the first and second segments.

The Grand Duke

The unnamed Grand Duke is The King's right-hand man who organizes the ball for Prince Charming to find him a wife.

Bruno

Bruno is a Bloodhound who is Cinderella's pet dog, a friend of the mice, and enemy to Lucifer.

Major
Major is a horse that lives with Cinderella (in the first film) and friend of the mice.

Plot:
When Cinderella's cruel stepmother prevents her from attending the Royal Ball, she gets some unexpected help from the lovable mice Gus and Jaq, and from her Fairy Godmother.

Cinderella, the beautiful and kind-hearted daughter, sees her world turn upside down when her beloved mother dies, and her pained father remarries another woman, the wicked Lady Tremaine, who has two equally cruel daughters, the jealous Anastasia and Drizella. But, once more, things will go from bad to worse, When Cinderella's father, too, dies, leaving her all alone in the Lady's clutches to serve as her maid-of-all-work. Under those circumstances, a shabby and neglected Cinderella doesn't stand much of a chance of attending the King's royal ball--let alone, captivate the handsome Prince--unless she turns to her loving Fairy Godmother who has quite a few tricks up her sleeve. Nevertheless, will the wronged damsel ever find peace--and with it--her own Prince Charming ?

In a far away, long ago kingdom, Cinderella is living happily with her mother and father until her mother dies. Cinderella's father remarries a cold, cruel woman who has two daughters, Drizella and Anastasia. When the father dies, Cinderella's wicked stepmother turns her into a virtual servant in her own house. Meanwhile, across town in the castle, the King determines that his son the Prince should find a suitable bride and provide him with a required number of grandchildren. So the King invites every eligible maiden in the kingdom to a fancy dress ball, where his son will be able to choose his bride. Cinderella has no suitable party dress for a ball, but her friends the mice, led by Jaques and Gus, and the birds lend a hand in making her one, a dress the evil stepsisters immediately tear apart on the evening of the ball. At this point, enter the Fairy Godmother, the pumpkin carriage, the royal ball, the stroke of midnight, the glass slipper, and the rest, as they say, is fairy tale history.

Evaluation and conclusion:
I learned that we have to be strong and express our own principles for our goals. Everyone has dreams and goals, and the key lies in whether they are implemented. Sometimes money can cover people's eyes, but they lose their whereabouts. But Cinderella thinks differently. She accumulates experience for herself, improves herself, and also reflects Cinderella's love. With her perseverance and hard work, she defeated her stepmother.

BOOK TITLE: The Spy of Venice

AUTHOR: Benet Brandreth

INTRODUCTION: The young Shakespeare comes, metaphorically, on stage in his native town of Stratford; a young man trapped in a dull profession, a lukewarm marriage, and with no prospect of change. However, an unwise seduction sends him fleeing to London to avoid the wrath of the local landowner. He is recruited to a troupe of players who are, in turn, recruited to accompany the English Ambassador to Venice. England is in perilous straits as Philip of Spain is determined to stamp out the Protestant heresy. Sir Henry's goal is to recruit the wealthy and liberal city of Venice as a trade partner and ally to England. Shakespeare is drawn into dangerous plots and schemes that he is ill-equipped to understand or counter. In the course of his adventures, he meets women with minds as keen as his own and learns that there is more to love than mere physical conquest.

SUMMARY: A historical thriller with a swashbuckling twist and a hero like you've never seen him before When he's caught out by one ill-advised seduction too many, young William Shakespeare flees Stratford to seek his fortune. Cast adrift in London, Will falls in with a band of players - but greater men have their eye on this talented young wordsmith. England's very survival hangs in the balance, and Will finds himself dispatched to Venice on a crucial embassy. Dazzled by the city's masques - and its beauties - Will little realizes the peril in which he finds himself. Catholic assassins would stop at nothing to end his mission on the point of their sharpened knives, and lurking in the shadows is a killer as clever as he is cruel. Suspenseful, seductive, and as sharp as an assassin's blade, The Spy of Venice introduces a major new literary talent.

CHARACTERS:

STRATFORD

1. John Shakespeare - Alderman of Stradford.
