My university placement was a starting point in my growth of launching myself into the fashion world. I had the privilege of working for the fashion brand Av vattev, an established upcoming high-end fashion brand breaking boundaries into genderless fashion. Having graduated from Central Saint Martins University in 2020, Av Vattev returned to the scene. High hopes for the brand's launch led to its attention from the fashion and musical inspiration worlds. The brand's commitment to sustainability and use of 70% recycled materials were two things that truly caught my attention and make me want to work with the brand even more! Starting in February I began my work as Av vattevs social media assistant. Having had a lot of experience in the social media work I felt confident that I was going to make a large impact on the social insights at Av vattev. As I was working remotely for this role, we planned out each week what projects id be working on whether that was creating basic content for socials or more challenging work, by setting me more challenging projects to work on this allowed me to test my skills and learn new skills that I can implement into day-to-day work with a lot enjoying the more simple content. I wasn't the only intern employed at Av vattev throughout my time there. Additionally, I saw how each garment was made and learned that designers' other responsibilities are just as significant as my social media posts. This increased my motivation to promote Av vattev since I saw firsthand how hard everyone works. It also helped me comprehend how much time and effort it takes to imagine, draw, write, and produce a garment. The days I spent in the studio were a lot of fun because I did a lot of my work remotely. from using models to take pictures for a magazine. On these days, I had the chance to plan and shoot material for the social media platforms, using my creative side. Additionally, this was the first time my work will appear in a magazine, which was exciting. Then using models to film footage on other days. Although I have worked with models before, this was the first time my work was going to be featured on a brand's social media page.

Av vattev’s main target audience is Gen-z as Av Vattev focuses more on the high-end market; I feel their audience is very niche. From working with Av Vattev they use a log of high-profile creators to promote their clothing, so it puts them in a higher category than their competitors.

From doing my research I found that Av Vattevs main competitors are Aaron Esh, Derrick, Labrum, JordanLuca plus more. Av Vattev’s unique style makes them stand out a lot more from their competitors. Also, Av Vattev is using 70% more recycled materials where some of their competitors are not. - She shows how much they're contributing to sustainable fashion and stay ethical which is something they value.

In terms of turn over Av vattev made around £32,000 in 2022 which is good for a small brand but there is so much more potential for this to grow if they lowered their costs of garments, there's a huge area where this could be improved which would drive a new audience and they would grow in profit. At the moment, there is no store, it's all online or other retailers are stocking Av vattev such as farfetched. As of the 31/01/2023 Av vattev were issued with a First Gazelle Notice, which isn't a good signed for the company in terms of profit or summitted legal documents to the government. It seems after doing research a lot of these have been striked off as this isn't the first one the brand has had.

Av vattev’s promotional strategy has been effective since the start of the brands launch, bringing a lot of attention to the brand and gaining high exposure with the likes of; vogue, ID, perfect magazine. Through this its allowed them to work with high profile people and be given the opportunities to launch out worldwide. There is a large room for improvement though, especially with TikTok. TikTok is a huge platform to showcase and market your brand. Whilst on my placement I wanted to explore this a lot more in terms of bringing the audience in and sharing more of a relationship with Av vattevs viewers, using more humour and being more personal with the audience. I've seen this be successful with other brands, however it wasn’t something the brand was interested in doing.

Throughout my blogs I have expressed that Av vattev uses 70% of recycled materials for their garments. It’s an integral part of the brand and its one of Av vattevs USP’s they have a commitment to being sustainable and using raw materials and recycled materials each season. Av vattev does this incredibly well! Currently I believe Av vattev is right where they need to be interns of their business, they're producing each season and bringing new ideas in terms of fashion. However, there's areas where they could improve, such as; a larger size range, lowering the cost of their garments, I believe by doing this it'll create more revenue and gainer a larger target audience.

In summary, my time at Av vattev was an amazing opportunity! I believe I created content that was eye catching, edgy and on brand for Av Vattev! As I had to teach myself a lot of the skills that the brand wanted in their marketing content, I've learned that I'm capable of doing anything that I put my mind too, and that I can push myself to create things that I never knew I could create! I've really grown my skills in Adobe After Effects -- I had to use this for a big project and as I never knew how to use this platform before, I taught myself and produced some incredibly content for the brand. During my time here it has made me learn that the industry is more demanding than I ever imagined. Its full on but also exciting, it's exciting to see how things develop and it allows you to push yourself and create and achieve ideas that you didn’t expect. It's also taught me that you need time and patience, it’s a long process to get to points where you want to be. But in conclusion its shaped me to know what to expect when I am ready to go into industry.
