We will talk about the Jews' persecution during fifteenth to seventeenth centuries in Portugal.

In 1492 the kings Isabel and Fernando of Castela decreed the expulsion from Spain of Jews who did not convert to Christianity. Jews who did not convert fled to Portugal.

King João II allowed these refugees to enter Portugal, indicating the places where they could enter: Olivença, Arronches, Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, Bragança and Melgaço. At the border, Jews paid a fee in exchange for a safe pass. Most of these people went to the big cities like Lisbon, Porto and Évora, while others stayed close to the border, with the hope of one day returning to Spain. João II's authorization to stay here intended to last for a period of 8 months. However, the Jews ended up by staying in Portugal for a much longer time.

When King João II died, in 1495, the Portuguese crown was inherited by Manuel. In the early years of King Manuel's reign, the Jewish community lived in peace, with the king choosing a Jew as his private physician. King Manuel married Isabel, the kings of Castela’s daughter. They agreed to the marriage, but Manuel would have to expel the Jews from the country. After the wedding, King Manuel decreed the order to expel the Jews, forcing them to leave the country. If they did not, they would be condemned to death and all their property would be confiscated by the crown. However, as the Jews possessed wealth and when they depart, they would leave the country poorer, Manuel allowed them to stay, but on the condition that they convert to Christianity. They decided that all the Jews would be baptized at the Easter of 1497.

There were applied tragic measures for Jews who refused the conversion. Jews under the age of 14 were taken out of their families and handed over to Christian families, to be raised as Christians. The consequences were terrible, and many parents killed their own children. Other Jews were baptized by force while others, who managed to escape, committed suicide.

Some who stayed in Portugal as slaves to the king and did not convert, proposed the conversion to the king in exchange for the restitution of their children, with the guarantee that their religious practices would not be questioned. Thus, inquiries of recent converts to Christianity were prohibited. The King also decreed that New Christians should not be treated any differently than the rest, since they were converted to the Holly Faith. Even so, many decided to leave the country taking their goods with them, that is, a part of the country's wealth ran away.

(Lígia Silva; Margarida Martins; Marta Jacinta Silva; Matilde Martins)

The Romanians and the Gypsies

In my country there was and still is a “fight” between the Romanian people and Gypsies.

The incidents in Hădareni are known in the recent history of Romania as a spontaneous revolt of the Romanian and Hungarian ethnic groups against the gypsies from Hădăreni village, Chețani commune, Mureș county,in autumn 1993, starting from the murder of a Romanian in a pub by some local gypsies. As a result of ethnic clashes, three gypsies were killed. On the evening of September 20, 1993, a 25-year-old man of Romanian origin, C. Chețan, the father of a three-year-old girl, was called to intervene in defense of his father, who had entered into a heated argument with three gypsies from locality - G. Ghețan and the Lăcătuș brothers, RL and AP At one point, RLL stabbed C. Chețan with a knife to the chest, who died shortly after. The news of "Christmas "'s murder spread like wildfire in the village. The anger of the locals was also fueled by the passive attitude of the local police when they heard the tragic event.

This was one event that happened in my country.Stereotypes measured by opinion polls and sociological studies show that 2/3 of Romanians believe that Roma commit the most crimes, and 1/3 believe that Roma will be a danger to the country.

Held in captivity for 500 years, persecuted by the legionary government from 1940-1941, deported by Antonescu in 1942 to Transnistria, from where only half of them returned, the rest, especially children, women and the elderly being gassed, In the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp, on the night of August 2, 1944, the Roma were cannon fodder for the iniquities of a history hitherto untouched by its deer. August 2 was declared by the Roma ethnic group the Memorial Day of the Roma Holocaust, rightly called the "Forgotten Holocaust". Sold in the West during the communist period, together with Jews, Swabians and Saxons, but also with many Romanians, against some exorbitant sums, through a network of mafia clans, Security and Militia, exploited by the totalitarian regime by planting them at the lowest jobs, discriminated against by the majority population and, closer to today, chased, beaten and imprisoned in police custody by the bearers of lamps and the ranks of Securitate officers during the mining of June 13-15, 1990, the Roma are still feared today by the atrocities of history, which always seem to point the finger at their relentless status as slaves.

Abstract
The inter-ethnic conflict between Serbs and Albanians in Kosovo have persisted since the
war in Kosovo in 1999, even though it has been improved in recent years. A friendly
relationship between Serbs and Albanians in Kosovo is vital for the future of Kosovo, and
for the security in the Balkan region.
The aim with this study is to explain how the relationship between Serbs and Albanians has
changed since Kosovo’s declaration of independence in 2008. Interviews have been
conducted with six Serbs and six Albanians living in Kosovo. The interviews were mainly
based on three key moments which were considered to have had an influence on the interethnic relationship.
The results from the interviews showed that these three key moments have resulted in
antagonism between, but also within the two ethnic groups. However, the growth of
antagonism seems to have been a consequence of how politicians and media on both sides
in Kosovo have handled these key moments, rather than as a consequence of the key
moments per se.

Introduction
Since the end of the Kosovo war in 1999, the relationship between Serbs and Albanians
have constantly shifted between hostile and peaceful. Various incidents since year 2000
have had different kinds of influence on inter-ethnic relations. The First Agreement of
Principles governing Normalizations of Relations signed by Serbia and Kosovo in year
2013 was, according to EU, UN, NATO and OSCE, “a historic break-through for KosovoSerbia relations and stabilization processes in the rest of Western Balkans”
1
. An incident
with a negative outcome was when Serbian authorities attempted to operate a direct train to
Mitrovica (Kosovo) from Belgrade with nationalist slogans which provoked the Albanians
in Kosovo.
2
. It was considered as one of the most hostile exchanges since the war in 1999
between Serbia and Kosovo. Violence, distrust, segregation, nationalism and claims of
territory are examples of crucial factors that affects the relationship between the two ethnic
groups.
1.1 Research problem
Several studies regarding the relationship between Serbia and Kosovo exists, but not as
much involving the relationship between the two ethnic groups, Serbs and Albanians. A lot
of tension exists between Serbia and Kosovo, Serbia has for example not recognized Kosovo
as an independent state, which is considered to be hampering the possibility for negotiations
and agreements, not to mention peace amongst the two ethnic groups. The study of how and
why the relationship between Serbs and Albanians changes is vital, in order to identify
factors that contributes to a hostile relationship. This study will hopefully contribute to the
reconciliation process between Serbs and Albanians in Kosovo.
1.2 Purpose of the study and research questions
The purpose with this study is to analyze how the relationship3
between Serbs and Albanians
in Kosovo has changed over time and why these changes have occurred. The aim is to
explain which factors influence the relationship, in a positive or negative way.
• Which key moments influencing the Serb-Albanian relationship can be identified
during the period 2008 to 2018?
• How have these key moments influenced the Serbian-Albanian relationship?
• In which way has the relationship between Serbs and Albanians changed since the
declaration of independence in
