         <description><![CDATA[<div>Space Exploration: The space race was created after the USSR launched the first ever satellite Sputnik. The level of competition would further increase when Russia seemed destined to reached the moon after finishing first in every other category in space exploration.<br><br>Arms Race: The Arms was created when the USSR started developing it's own atomic bomb to counter the US atomic bomb. The arms race really became a competition after the creation of ICBM's at which point kit became about who had more.<br><br>Olympics: The olympics became a main source of competition as it gave a chance to prove which country was better athletically. It also became a way to improve public morale over the state of the cold war at the time.</div>]]></description>
