De English king James I sent protestant English farmers to Ireland to take the land from Catolic farmers, very soon match of the land belonged to the English Protestants and Irish catholics became tenants on their land.

British Parliament abolished the Irish Parliament and governed Ireland themselves, the wholw of Ireland became part of the UK.

In this conditions the farm workers were very por, they try to survive in small hauses and eating mainly potatoes.

1845-1846

Fungus infected the potatoes crop and potatoes started to descompose, farm workers don't have to eat and more than one million people died from starvation.

English landownwers don't care about their farm workers. They evicted the tenants and demolished his hauses because they couldn't pay debts.

1846-1850

Around one million Irish people emigrated to USA, Canadá and England. British government did little to help the Irish population during the Potato Famine, leading to long-lasting resentment, leading to demands for independence and the rise of nationalist movements.

1905

Establoshed "Sinn Fein" Patry, to promote autónoma for Ireland, in 1913 they had their own army, de Irish Republican Army (IRA).

On 24th April 1916 Irish rebels took posesion of some important public buildings in Dublin, there, Patrick Pearse proclame the republic of Ireland, calling for total independence from Britan. The rebels has less armament than britians, their product is the esater rebellion, about 1350 people died in there.

In 1916, after the Irish rebels surrendered, the execution of their leaders increased support for independence. In 1918, Sinn Féin won the elections and formed its own parliament, leading to conflict with the British. The war ended in 1921 with a treaty dividing Ireland: the north remained under British control, while the south became the Irish Free State.
