My learning will be valuable to the community because music can bring people together. A positive and relaxing song can brighten someone’s day, and sharing this kind of music creates a friendly, supportive space - especially for young people who enjoy creativity and emotions through sound.

(The reason I chose a beat from YouTube is because making a complete beat is a very difficult skill that requires proper training and a lot of time for beginners. So, to save time, I decided to use a free beat from YouTube and focus only on developing my songwriting and melody skills)

These two songs demonstrate that Cayden has quite a lot of experience in writing lyrics to pre-made beats. Although his skills are not yet perfect - since they come from natural instinct rather than formal training - they still show that he is a capable partner who can support me in creating a song for this project.

For the lyrics, I’m planning to write from both the boy’s and the girl’s perspectives, to make the song more balanced and relatable. I’ll use Notepad to write and edit because it’s simple and lets me make quick changes without losing ideas. I also plan to test each line by reading it out loud and matching syllables with the beat to make sure the flow feels natural.

This chorus plays a key role in the song because it is repeated several times and sets the overall mood. It needed to be catchy, memorable, and emotionally expressive. The rhyme and rhythm in this section were carefully designed so the listener could instantly recognise and connect with it from the very first listen.

The lines “I got my love, she is my queen” and “call me on phone as a morning routine” show care and consistency in the relationship — love that feels natural and part of everyday life. “Got me like nicotine” uses a metaphor to describe how strong and addictive the emotion is, showing how deeply attached the singer feels.

The sounds “brmm brmm brmm” and “yum yum yum” were added to make the melody playful and rhythmic, rhyming smoothly with words like “dumb,” “club,” “gum,” and “Ms. Bloom.” The comparison with “Ms. Bloom” symbolises beauty and warmth, creating a gentle and affectionate tone for the song.

By understanding how he connected everyday language with emotion, I learned how to make lyrics sound natural while still meaningful. His use of short phrases like “slay bae” and “treating you nice” showed me how to mix modern slang with romantic feelings to make the song more relatable to young listeners.

This evidence also shows how collaboration improved my learning. Through his feedback, I understood how my verse should balance his - softer, more emotional, and from the female perspective. It made me more confident to continue writing and find my own voice within the same theme.

This screenshot shows my first draft of Verse 2. The line “could u choose one outfit for me looking for the best in the party” was one of my early ideas. After reading and listening to it repeatedly with the beat, I realised it didn’t fit well. The line felt off-beat and didn’t match the melody or rhythm of the previous lines, making the flow uneven.

Hearing this feedback meant a lot to me because it showed that my song actually made people feel the way I wanted, relaxed and happy. It made me feel proud and more confident about my work, knowing that the emotions I tried to express really reached the listener.

Andrea explains that songwriting is storytelling, where each verse reveals a new part of the same truth. She also introduces “free writing”, a method that helps me express ideas naturally without worrying about rhyme or melody too early. From this, I learn how to turn emotions into raw material for lyrics and how to build structure around them. I also understand how each section - the verse, chorus, and bridge supports the emotional flow of a song.

This research helps me feel more prepared and confident to start writing my own song with direction, rather than guessing where to begin.

Ethan introduces a “story arc” formula where a song moves from setup → emotion → release. He explains that every good song should take the listener on a small emotional journey. He also talks about finding a balance between repetition and change: repeating lines to make them memorable but adding small variations to keep them interesting.

From this, I learn how to shape my lyrics around emotion and keep the hook short and catchy. This video helped me understand structure better and gave me a clear direction before I started writing my own song.

This advice helped me connect my earlier research with real practice. Instead of overthinking structure, I focused on the emotional tone of the song and how it made me feel. Listening to the beat repeatedly helped me imagine the type of relationship I wanted to describe, and the melody started forming naturally in my head. I also realised that writing doesn’t need to be formal, it’s more about finding what feels true and fits the rhythm.

The line “perform like a queen and you have never seen me outstanding one-dayyyy” compares her to a queen shining on stage, surprising her partner with her confidence and energy. The rhyme between “slay” and “one-day” creates a catchy, playful rhythm that matches the chill beat.

In “Ferrari or Bentley, never need those even Paris,” she expresses that love means more than material things - the relationship itself is what makes her happy. The line “the only one thing let me crazy making this song with u super catchy” reflects excitement and joy in creating something fun together with her partner.

Words like “catchy,” “fancy,” “Hennessy,” “tipsy,” and “party” are intentionally chosen to rhyme and maintain flow, giving the verse a smooth, confident, and upbeat vibe.

This verse captures the balance between sweetness and self-assurance, showing how the female character mirrors her partner’s affection while keeping her own unique voice and energy.

To ensure the final version sounded smooth and well-balanced, I gave him feedback, suggesting he re-record some sections or adjust the volume and pacing. I explained that clearer pronunciation and a more consistent tone would make the verses connect better with my softer vocals in Verse 2.

Although the process took several hours of trial and error, it taught me how to handle unexpected problems independently and how to use sound editing tools to achieve a clean, cohesive final track. This became one of the most rewarding parts of my learning journey, as I successfully completed the final version on my own.

Even though it’s not a perfect song, I feel very proud of it, especially as someone who started from zero and had to learn everything about songwriting and editing along the way. This experience helped me develop new technical skills, improve my patience, and gain confidence in creating something independently.
