         <description><![CDATA[<div>Victims of prejudice may suffer a range of effects that include physical, psychological and social disadvantage, low self esteem, limited ambition, and physical and verbal abuse.&nbsp;</div><div>Examples of the effects of prejudice and discrimination:&nbsp;</div><div>·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Low self-esteem: crude acts of prejudice on a regular basis can damage a persons self-esteem; for example, insults, denial of equality and violence.</div><div>·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Disadvantage/failure: being denied access to resources in society that are necessary for success; for example, education, health, housing and employment.</div><div>·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Self-fulfilling prophecies: Expectations and assumptions about group members will influence interaction with members of that group and eventually change their behaviour so that it is in keeping with the original expectations and assumptions.</div><div>·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Violence and genocide: overt acts of prejudice that include physical harm; For example, segregation in the United States.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Prejudice</strong> is a prejudgment that you make towards a group of people based on incorrect information about the group to whom it is directed. <strong>Discrimination</strong> is the action that expresses the attitude of prejudice.&nbsp; <br>For example, a young man has recently informed his friend that he is in a homosexual relationship and his friend barely acknowledges him and his partner. <br><strong>PREJUDICE-</strong><br><em>Affect:</em> His friend dislikes him for being in a homosexual relationship<br><em>Cognitive</em>: His friend may not support same sex relationships<br><strong>DISCRIMINATION-</strong><br><em>Behavior: </em>His friend doesn't associate or acknowledge him and his partner.<br><br></div>]]></description>

On the other hand an <strong>Attitude </strong>can be positive or negative towards a person or an object or at this case towards the action of prejudice and discrimination.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
