Devin, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your article in regards to 0 Communicating with Culturally Diverse Parents of Exceptional Children. While communication with parents can be tricky for all students, I have found that communicating with students who are exceptional things can get tricky and sometimes taken out of context. I think it is so important to be sensitive to others culture. Being to prepared to facilitate in a different language or using an appropriate reading level and etc.. can help the student and parent feel at ease. My favorite quote was in regards to supporting parents and students who are exceptional will help to see the positive aspects of the future for their children. Great article!

Devin, it was a very interesting article that I found helpful in some cases. One of my favorite quotes was, "Power in organizational life is a critical aspect of relationships between administrators and their followers." Organization works when there is a mutual respect and communication is clearly established. Power in an organization is always developing. Great read!

Devin, Your article over the shared decision making process was certainly informative. I think while some administrators embrace the notion of a shared responsibility others fear the concept all together. The article proved that there are some benefits to a shared decision making process. When educators have input on what processes are like on campus they take on leadership roles in protecting and supporting those processes. More shared decision making should be encouraged throughout the system to help create a unified approach to education.

Devin, I enjoyed all of the information on this weeks leadership article. There was one article that discussed relating to your staff. The part that stuck out to me the most is addressing the concerns that you may not feel are big concerns, because perception is reality. I am working towards being a principal and I want to remember what life is like in the classroom. The 'little' things matter, so keeping in mind that perception is reality will benefit me in my future position. Thanks for posting the articles!

Devin,
I highly enjoyed the five areas covered in the Resource Roundup. The process given is truly helpful.
Under "don't be afraid to give feedback", I believe this area connects with fear of confrontation. Overcoming fear in this area is very helpful in speaking to anyone. Giving corrective criticism will help all stakeholder and the campus as a whole.
Thank you,
Sylvia C.
