Back in the mid 19 hundreds the institution of paved roads in Levittowns provided access to anywhere. Paved roads were never seen up until Levittown. These roads flow everywhere  in SCV and act as the veins of the community. Without paved roads today, nothing get done.  These roads are especially important for emergency responders are stationed all around the community to provide emergency respondance in both Levittowns and communities like Santa Clarita. Shopping centers paved to eat and recreational centers flood the towns and provide something for everyone. Both Levittown and SCV believed that its community should have the ability to spend their free time in whatever way they want. Starting in the 19 hundreds shopping centers emerged on the scene. People of all ages, from teens to adults would spend countless hours roaming stores and shops This became what we know of today as malls. 100 years later, in SCV we still use shopping centers as a form of activity. To go along with the activities, amusement parks and theaters were also implemented into SCV and Levittowns. Ever since the invention of electricity in the early 19 hundreds, movies and amusement parks have been thriving. Today in SCV there are two fully functioning theaters, that 100 years later, still have people always at the door. Likewise, Levittowns and SCV are both homes to amusement parks. Electricity helped power rides and carnival games back in the 20th century and it is that same today. Although amusement parks have grown bigger, the idea is still the same. In SCV we have Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor as our amusement parks. To add to the long list of activities that both SCV and Levittowns provide for their community, there are also a plentiful supply of parks and baseball diamonds . Parks today provide space for its community for recreational activities. Much like Levitowns, Santa Clarita designates large areas of land for community housing. A standard home in Santa Clarita comes with four bedrooms much like how homes in Levittown came standard with the same structure and appearance. A prime example of the uniform housing is in Southern Oaks, where each house shares many articectural similarities. Color, driveways, roofs and floor plan layouts all are near identical in Southern Oaks, much like the way many homes were in Levittown. Not only are homes in Southern Oaks and all around Santa Clarita similar, but the landscaping looks the same as well. An Artice from Penn Kimball about Levittowns states,"Lawns must be mowed once a week." This idea of preserving the landscape of homes is present in Santa Clarita today, where lawns and bushes are often trimmed and cut weekly. Here in Santa Clarita, families are in every house. There is a reason for this. That reason is because tens of years ago, Levittown decided to base their community around families. Home architecture and layouts were all based around the average American family. Today in Santa Clarita, homes are built to support families and their needs. Large homes with plentiful rooms and activities. Not only were homes designed around families, but schools and activities were too. Every summer here at Centrl Park, there are concerts in the park designed to bring families together. In Levittowns, the children would go to school everyday. It was not a decision if they wanted to go, but it was enforced by the government. Same principle applies here. Santa Clarita has built a certain number of schools to support the large population of families. Since families are the primary home owners, SCV has built more schools to be based around the community. The more schools, the more susceptible familys are to move to SCV, which would make it a heavily family based community; just the vision Levittown had. Almost a decade later Levittown are still having lasting effects on how communities and towns are developed. Santa Clarita is a perfect example of incorporating ideas from Levittown.
