I like how the story mentioned real world situations, the message that your voice is your biggest weapon was powerful and gave Starr an amazing way use it to call out injustice. Overall the novel was enjoyable.

I feel like black people should appreciated and loved and the best part of the book was king getting jailed or something.

The book established a good balance of taking opportunities, but still caring about where you came from. The most memorable part was when Devante had a very contrasting change to his personality.

Not only is this book completely and utterly uninteresting, but it does a terrible job of going against racist stereo types. The author made it so Starr really liked SPECIFICALLY FRIED CHICKEN. You don't make a book that's partly trying to go against racist stereo types and make the main character who is black love fried chicken.

I like it. It shows how dangerous and hard of a life certain people have to live.

I really liked this book and how the author shows different sides of two communities. I agree that the decision was unfair but other than that i like how it was written and everything but I really hoped we could've seen how Starr and her family grew after the fires and incidents

I really liked the part were start stood up for herself and she corrected her "friend". Also the book mentions and shows real life situation that have been happening for a very long time, some people have just normalized it and its not right.

it was a very good book it showed lots of different views on things. It also showed how different people can be around different people and that not everyone will always act the same. it was just a really good book.

I think this book did a good job telling a powerful and emotional story about racism, inequality, and societal expectations. The novel shows the sad reality of the world we live in, but it also shows hope for change and something better. The most memorable part is when Starr finds her voice to stand up for what is right.

Not only does this book have an important message, it really does a good job showing real struggles people go through in their life. I've been super interested throughout the entire unit.

It was a good book, it reflected growth especially with Starr at the end not being afraid of her differences or speaking up.
