         <description><![CDATA[<div>By: Morgan L and Nicole R<br><strong>Date- </strong>1933<br><strong>Type</strong> - reform<br><strong>Problem</strong> - when the stock market crashed people were withdrawing all of their savings, or “bank runs”. They caused banks to run out of cash and eventually into bankruptcy.<br><strong>Who did it help</strong> - it was set up to help the banks and protect the economy <br><strong>How it was supposed to help</strong> - it was an established federal insurance corporation.&nbsp;They insure the banks for deposits, so the banks don’t lose all of their money when people withdraw their savings <br><strong>How effective was the program and how long did it last </strong>- this program was very effective in protecting banks from major losses and closures and is still in effect today!&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

Aimed to restore agricultural prosperity and helped farmers expand and diversify their crops<br>Effective: Worked for 3 years by raising crop prices but unintentionally favored large landowners over share croppers. Supreme Court unconstitutional but it was replaced with a slightly modified version in 1938</div>]]></description>

Also banned businesses from employing workers younger than 14 (some exceptions for agricultural and family businesses) and limited the types of jobs children under 18 could have.</div><div><strong>Effective?</strong> Yes. It is still in effect today.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>National recovery plan<br>&nbsp;By: Brenda, Samaya&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;Date: June 16, 1933<br>&nbsp;Problem: raised wages and lowered unemployment.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;Who did it help?: this was intended to help nations economic recovery after the Great Depression.<br>&nbsp;How did it help?: It established the NRA, it created fair alliances and fixed wages and prices in the trade industry. Company’s had to come up with agreements for wages and hours. Workers weren’t forced to join unions and could not be fired if they didn’t want to join.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;Was it effective?: Overall it was effective because it established many useful codes that helped about 22 million workers.<br><br>&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>
