   • The intimate nature of usrah allows for personalised attention, enabling members to address specific questions and challenges they may face in their spiritual journey.

2. Surah Al-Isra 9-21

   • These verses emphasize the role of the Quran as a guide for righteousness.

   • They warn against arrogance, disbelief, and the consequences of rejecting guidance.

Understanding Surah al-Baqarah (2:284-286)

  • Whether we show our intentions and thoughts or keep them hidden, Allah knows what is in our hearts and minds.

  • Every individual will be held accountable for their actions, including their internal thoughts and desires.

  • Allah has the power to forgive whom He wills and to punish whom He wills, emphasizing His justice and mercy.

• 285 :

  • The verse underscores the fundamental principle of faith in Islam (belief in Allah, His angels, His Books, and His messengers).

  • The believers are reminded to make no distinction between the messengers of Allah. Every prophet is respected, and the teachings of all are embraced.

  • The believers express their commitment to listening and obeying Allah, seeking forgiveness from Him, and acknowledging that all paths lead back to Him in the Hereafter.

Significance of Hadith Jibril

• It clearly outlines the three essential components of a Muslim's life: Islam, Iman, and Ihsan.

  • Islam refers to the outward practice of the faith, including actions like the five pillars: Shahada, Prayer, Zakat, Fasting, and Hajj

  • Iman refers to internal faith, belief in the six articles of faith, such as belief in Allah, His angels, His books, and His messengers.

  • Ihsan refers to the highest level of spirituality and sincerity, where one worships Allah with full devotion, as if they can see Him, even though they cannot, knowing that He sees them.

• Comprehensive Guidance for Life

  • The Hadith covers all aspects of a Muslim’s life—how to perform religious duties, what to believe in, and how to approach worship. It helps Muslims apply Islamic teachings in both their personal and spiritual lives.

  • The concept of Ihsan, elevates the level of sincerity and mindfulness in worship.

Surah al-Hasyr (59:18-24)

They emphasize the power of the Quran, explaining that even a mountain would crumble if it received Allah’s words, showing how impactful the Quran is. Allah’s qualities are described, including being the First(al-Awwal), Last(al-Akhir), Manifest(al-Zahir), and Hidden(al-Batin), urging believers to recognize His ultimate authority and greatness. The verses also mention His names like the King(al-Malik), the Holy(al-Quddus), and the Peace(as-Salam), as well as the Mighty(al-Aziz), reminding believers that Allah controls everything perfectly and creates with flawless wisdom. The verses call believers to reflect on Allah’s power, appreciate His creation, and live in line with His guidance.

Belief in Allah : The fundamental belief in the oneness of Allah(Tawhid), the Creator, Sustainer, and Ruler of the universe, with no partners or equals. The verses emphasize Allah’s uniqueness and sovereignty, with references to His qualities such as being the First (Al-Awwal) and the Last (Al-Ākhir), indicating that He has no beginning and no end.

Belief in Angels : Angels are created by Allah from light and are different from humans and jinn in that they have no free will, therefore they cannot disobey Allah. Belief in angels emphasize the presence of unseen spiritual beings who carry out Allah’s commands. It reinforces the understanding that Allah's will is executed not only through the physical world but also through divine agents, the angels, who manage various aspects of existence. This belief encourages mindfulness and accountability, reminding believers that every action is observed, recorded, and will be judged.

Belief in Kutub : Allah revealed scriptures to His chosen messengers as a source of guidance, wisdom, and law. These books are considered sacred and are believed to contain the direct words of Allah, although over time, some of these books were altered or corrupted. The core belief is that all these scriptures originated from the same divine source, and their purpose was to lead people toward truth and righteousness.

• Tawrat : Revealed to Prophet Musa, it was meant for the Children of Israel, providing them with laws and guidance for righteous living.

• Zabur : Revealed to Prophet Daud, this book is known for its psalms, which were songs and praises to Allah.

• Injil : Revealed to Prophet Isa, it carried the teachings and message of compassion, righteousness, and monotheism, emphasizing the importance of faith and good deeds.

• Quran : The final and most complete revelation, revealed to Prophet Muhammad, containing the final guidance for all of humanity, preserved without alteration. It addresses all aspects of life, from legal matters to spiritual guidance, and serves as the ultimate source of instruction for Muslims.

Necessity of Prophethood based on Surah Nuh (71:1-28)

-Guidance to the Right Path

• Prophet Nuh was sent by Allah to guide his people who had turned to idol worship and moral corruption. His mission was to remind them of the true worship of Allah and to call them away from their sinful ways. Without prophets, humans would lose the direction to lead a righteous life and would remain lost in ignorance and sin.

-Role of Prophets as Divine Messengers

• The verses show that Allah sent Prophet Nuh as a messenger to convey His commands and divine message. Prophethood is necessary to ensure that Allah’s guidance is transmitted to humanity in a clear and direct way. Prophets do not speak on their own authority but relay Allah’s message, ensuring that humans have access to divine wisdom.

-Correction of Misguided Beliefs

• The people of Nuh were deeply entrenched in idol worship, believing that their idols brought them blessings. Prophethood was essential in correcting such misconceptions and guiding people toward the belief in the oneness of Allah (Tawhid). Without prophets, false beliefs and misguided practices could dominate societies, leading people away from the true faith.

-Strengthening Faith and Morality

• Prophethood also served to strengthen the faith and morals of humanity. Through the example of Prophet Nuh, the people were shown how to live righteously, care for one another, and maintain justice. Prophets serve as role models for moral conduct and instill values that are essential for maintaining a just and peaceful society.

STAGES OF QIYAMAH

1. The Trumpet Blast

• The first blow of the trumpet will cause the entire universe to be destroyed, including the heavens and the earth. Everything in existence will come to an end, and all living beings will die. The second blow of the trumpet will sound, causing the dead to be resurrected from their graves. They will rise and come to life for their judgment before Allah.

2. The Gathering (Mahsyar)

• After resurrection, all beings will be gathered in one place, known as the Mahsyar. The gathering will be in a state of extreme anxiety and fear for all, as they will wait to be judged.

3. The Presentation of Deeds (Kitab)

• Every person’s deeds will be presented to them. Their actions, whether good or bad, will be written down by the angels who recorded them during their lifetime. The righteous will receive their record in their right hand, while the wicked will receive theirs in their left hand or behind their back.

4. The Scale (Mizan)

• A scale will be set up to weigh people's deeds. The good deeds will be placed on one side, and the bad deeds will be on the other. The weight of deeds will determine whether a person is deemed worthy of Paradise or Hell.

5. The Crossing of the Bridge (As-Sirat)

• Everyone will have to cross the Sirat, a bridge that spans over Hell. This bridge is thinner than a hair and sharper than a sword. Only the righteous will be able to cross it safely into Paradise, while those who are wicked will fall into Hell.

6. The Final Judgment (Hisab)

• Allah will then judge each person based on their deeds, faith, and sincerity. Those who believed in Allah, followed His guidance, and performed righteous deeds will be rewarded with eternal Paradise. The disbelievers and those who rejected Allah’s guidance will be punished in Hell.

7. The Intercession (Shafaat)

• The Prophet Muhammad and other righteous figures will be granted the ability to intercede on behalf of believers, asking Allah to forgive their sins. This intercession will be a mercy for those whose deeds may not have been enough to enter Paradise but who are still worthy of Allah’s forgiveness.

8. The Entrance into Paradise/Hell

• Those who are deemed worthy of Paradise will enter Jannah, where they will live in eternal bliss, enjoying all of Allah’s rewards. Those who are judged to have been disbelievers or have failed to repent for their sins will be cast into Hell. The punishment in Hell will be eternal and extremely severe, with various levels of torment.

Understanding of Ihsan based on Surah Al-Isra (17:22-39)

• This verse emphasizes the oneness of Allah (Tawhid). Ihsan begins with sincerity in worship, where one acknowledges Allah’s absolute power and submits to Him alone.

• A key aspect is showing respect and kindness to parents, especially in their old age, with humility and care.

• Charity is also emphasized, where believers are instructed to give to relatives, the poor, and travelers, but always in moderation, avoiding extravagance.

• The believer must avoid immoral acts, such as adultery, which are harmful and sinful

• Ihsan requires truthfulness and refraining from speaking without knowledge or making false claims.

• Arrogance and pride are forbidden; true Ihsan entails walking humbly on the earth and recognizing one’s limitations.

Exposition of Eschatology

Eschatology in Islam refers to the study of the end of the world and the afterlife, focusing on heaven (Jannah) and hell (Jahannam).

The ultimate goal for every Muslim is to attain Jannah, a paradise of eternal bliss, where believers who have followed Allah’s guidance will be rewarded with peace, joy, and nearness to Allah. It is described as a place of gardens, rivers, and luxurious pleasures, free from suffering. The Quran describes Jannah as the final abode for those who have faith in Allah, performed righteous deeds, and adhered to His commands.

Jahannam is the place of punishment for those who disbelieve in Allah or reject His guidance. It is a realm of eternal suffering, where individuals will endure various forms of torment. The severity of punishment in Jahannam depends on the extent of a person’s sins and rejection of the truth. However, those who are sinful but ultimately believe in Allah may be forgiven and eventually enter Jannah after undergoing purification.

Understanding of Adab with parents based on Surah Maryam (19:41-50)

~ Ibrahim’s respectful dialogue with his father, even when he disagreed with his father’s idol worship, teaches the importance of maintaining respect in communication, even when there is a fundamental difference in belief. Ibrahim's respectful tone and his gentle reminders emphasize that disrespectful behavior, especially towards parents, is prohibited in Islam.

~ Ibrahim (AS) pleads for his father’s guidance with a deep sense of gratitude toward his own parents, showing that asking Allah to have mercy on one's parents is a key part of showing respect. This teaching reminds Muslims to always maintain a positive and humble attitude toward their parents, and to pray for their well-being and forgiveness.

~ The Adab with parents involves humbling oneself before them, as Ibrahim (AS) exhibits. Even when faced with challenging circumstances, he consistently maintain a respectful and humble attitude toward his parents, regardless of whether or not they are in agreement.

Application of Adab as a Student

1. Respect for Teachers

• Students are taught to show respect, listen attentively, and value the knowledge that their teachers impart.

2. Patience and Perseverance

• Adab as a student means persevering through challenges, whether it’s academic difficulties or personal setbacks. Students should always strive for more, with persistence and trust in Allah.

3. Good Character and Conduct Among Peers

• A student must demonstrate good character with fellow students, respecting their ideas and opinions as well as offer support, avoid envy, and collaborate in a positive manner.

4. Seeking Beneficial Knowledge

• Students should focus on learning knowledge that has a positive impact on their lives, communities, and societies.

APPRECIATION FOR NATURE AND ENVIRONMENT

1. Nature as a Gift and Blessing

• Provides human sustenance, beauty, and spiritual reflection. The environment, with all its elements, is a source of life and well-being.

2. Respect for All Living Creatures

• Humans are urged to treat animals and plants with kindness and avoid harming them unnecessarily, recognizing their importance to the broader ecological balance.

3. Avoiding Wastefulness

• Using resources in excess or carelessly is seen as a violation of the natural order. Instead, a balanced and mindful approach is encouraged, such as reducing waste in food, water, and energy consumption.

4. Promoting Renewable Energy

• Emphasis on renewable energy sources, such as solar, wind, and hydropower, helps reduce dependence on fossil fuels, minimizing environmental harm like pollution and climate change.

5. Environmental Advocacy and Education

• Empowering individuals with knowledge encourages better decision-making regarding the environment.

Sustainability in Islam

• Humans are entrusted with the role of Khalifah of the earth, this means humans are responsible for the protection, care, and sustainable use of the environment. Environmental protection is thus viewed as part of one's duty to Allah.

• Islam strongly prohibits wastefulness, highlighting that wasting resources is a sinful act. Islam encourages moderation and efficiency in the use of all resources.

• Islam teaches that all living beings have rights and should be treated with respect and kindness. Animals, plants, and insects are seen as creations of Allah, and humans should avoid harming them unnecessarily.

• Islam encourages the preservation of biodiversity by protecting the environment and preventing the destruction of natural habitats. Planting trees is highly recommended in Islam.

• The principle of using resources efficiently also applies to energy consumption. Islam advocates for a responsible approach to energy use, urging believers to avoid excessive use of electricity and fuel. Conserving energy helps in reducing environmental damage and promotes sustainability.
