They were both born and raised in Philadelphia. They met when they were both working as artists for the military in WWII. After meeting they had two sons and stayed married for 59 yers. Their son, Mike, was actually the illustrator for most of his parents books. Stanley died of cancer in 2005. Jan passed away due to a stroke in 2012. After they had both passed their son, Mike, continued the books. They noticed things like common behaviors in every generation and publicized it in a way that was helpful for a parent to know (i.e. Tantrums) steering clear of anything to violent. The books even changed through ought the years as the newer technologies developed. They focused on topics they had first hand experienced with their own son growing up and they used humor so parents could understand that not everything should be taken super seriously. This book in articular was one of my favorites, we used to almost sing this instead of reading it sometimes. I remember my mom reading them to me as a kid and loving them. When I read them again for this assignment I was realizing how it was not only really awesome to read but it was also helping me learn manners and so many other things that helped my parents out too. These books are really important for setting an example of how to be kind and respectful but also allow it to be fun and humorous.

This theory became popular during the end of the world theory in 2012. We have supposedly shifted into another timeline in an alternate universe where little things have become slightly different.
