Erasmus believed in communicating with the student (Gutekt, p. 103, 2011). I believe him that having a student talk it out with the teacher will only increase the students’ knowledge. Making the student use the dialogue helps them grasp the concept and understand why they use them. Erasmus was also big on memorizing information but knowing the content as well.

Rousseau reiterated the fact that children are the key. It confirmed my beliefs that children should get the best educators available. To have successful adults they should be built during their childhood years.

He wanted all free people to be educated. He was more of a political man and once you implement a lot of politics into schooling you have ruined it. Politics cloud up people’s minds and brings the ugly out of people. Education needs to be pure and with politics involved that cannot happen

Some students are limited in what they dish out for their education. By limits, I mean struggles with learning a certain subject or section. Some of these students are born with these difficulties. It is not their fault that they learn slower or different than others. We as teachers must be able to adapt to every student. It is important that when we do find other methods in trying to accommodate these students and be certain we do not single them out in front of the class because it could be embarrassing for the student.

Mann had a big impact on the public schooling and its break down. How schools should be ran and who was going pay for them, and the values of the common school. " Mann's Conception of the public school's relationship to the U.S. political and socioeconomic order was based on ideology that combined the diverse but related strands of Whig political theory" (Gutek, p.242, 2011).
