This article looks into how health information exchange can improve quality of care and lower cost. According to the writer, this is possible when and only if when more providers adopt data exchange tools. It is believed that HIE through programs such as HEALTHeLINK can improves quality of care, enhance patient safety, but most importantly reduce healthcare cost. Further, in New York they found that more than 96% of patients consented to have their information shared with other providers via HEALTHeLINK.

As a future provider, I believe that having access to a database that will allow me to exchange patient health information can allow me to give the best treatment options. It will also help me further reduce medical errors that can very easily happen when patients are transitioning from provider to provider or have a complex medical history where multiple providers are involved.

The speaker focused on four key things when it comes to story telling including:
-Connecting with people
-conveying one idea
-keeping it simple
-exploring the things you know best
- I believe that in a world where technology has allowed to connect with people around the world, it seems as though we are less connected with each other. Thus, I believe connecting with people is very important. Conveying an idea and keeping it simple also major. Things that are to complex to explain can cause the speaker to get off topic and or lose the audience. Rather it would make sense why sticking to one topic and keeping it simple will very likely continue to keep the audience engaged. Finally, exploring this you best know will help you build credibility among your audience.
