In the Amazon a great environmental issue would be mining. Lots of people mine around the Amazon River as there can be many different resources found including, bauxite, iron, nickel, tin and gold. Many miners have encroached the amazon river with chemicals and explosives. Mining is an issue as when the chemicals leak into the river there is chance of, the ecosystem getting harmed but also of the water being directly polluted. Many people are trying to stop the process of most of the damaging mining projects and are petitioning against it. Therefore, mining in the Amazon River is a very important environmental issue.
